Opis:
An array of floating point-absorbing wave energy converters (WECs) is usually employed for extracting efficiently ocean wave energy. For deep water environment, it is more feasible and convenient to connect the absorbers array with a floating body, such as a semi-submersible bottom-moored disk, whose function is to act as the virtual seabed. In the present work, an array of identical floating symmetrically distributed cylinders in a coaxial moored disk as a wave energy device is proposed The power take-off (PTO) system in the wave energy device is assumed to be composed of a linear/nonlinear damper activated by the buoys heaving motion. Hydrodynamic analysis of the examined floating system is implemented in frequency domain. Hydrodynamic interferences between the oscillating bodies are accounted for in the corresponding coupled equations. The array layouts under the constraint of the disk, incidence wave directions, separating distance between the absorbers and the PTO damping are considered to optimize this kind of WECs. Numerical results with regular waves are presented and discussed for the axisymmetric system utilizing heave mode with these interaction factors, in terms of a specific numbers of cylinders and expected power production.

Opis:
A 400 MHz high efficiency transmitter for wireless medical application is presented in this paper. Transmitter architecture with high-energy efficiencies is proposed to achieve high data rate with low power consumption. In the on-off keying transmitters, the oscillator and power amplifier are turned off when the transmitter sends 0 data. The proposed class-e power amplifier has high efficiency for low level output power. The proposed on-off keying transmitter consumes 1.52 mw at-5 dBm output by 40 Mbps data rate and energy consumption 38 pJ/bit. The proposed transmitter has been designed in 0.18μm CMOS technology.

Taekwondo is famous for its powerful kicking techniques and the roundhouse kick is the most frequently used one. In earlier literature, the influence of a physical target (exiting or not) on kicking power generation has not been given much attention. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate the kinematics of roundhouse kick execution and its factors related to power generation. 6 ITF taekwondo practitioners voluntarily participated in this study. They were asked to perform kicks with and without a physical target. The first kick aimed at breaking a board while the second one was a kick into the air. A Smart-D motion capture system (BTS S.p.A., Italy) was used to quantitatively determine their kinematic characteristics during each kick. The main findings showed that kicks aiming at a breaking board were significantly slower than kicks without a physical target (maximal kick-foot velocities were 10.61 ± 0.86 m/s and 14.61 ± 0.67 m/s, respectively, p < 0.01), but the kicking time of the former was shorter (0.58 ± 0.01 s and 0.67 ± 0.01, respectively, p < 0.01). The results suggest that a physical target will negatively influence the kick-foot velocity, which is not necessarily a disadvantage for creating a high quality kick. Possible motor control mechanisms are discussed for the phenomenon. The study made it clear: trainings with and without physical targets would develop different motor control patterns. More studies are needed for identifying the effectiveness of different controls and efficiencies of their training.

This article presents a project that contributed to the computerization of the obsolete measurement and control cabinet SPS1, which is part of a test stand designed to determine the parameters of the engine in wheeled tractors. The test stand is located in the Department of Energy Systems Engineering at the University of Life Sciences in Poznań. Arduino platform was used as a built-in system, which enabled the exchange of information between the computer and the measurement and control cabinet along with the readout of analogue meter readings and the control of the engine dynamometer brake load. In order to clearly display measured parameters, proprietary applications were developed in the .NET environment, which in real time presents the results and graphs the speed characteristics of the engine. The implementation was carried out without violating the design of the test station.
Niniejszy artykuł przedstawia projekt, który przyczynił się do skomputeryzowania przestarzałej szafy pomiarowo-sterującej SPS-1, wchodzącej w skład stanowiska badawczego przeznaczonego do wyznaczania parametrów silnika w ciągnikach kołowych. Stanowisko badawcze znajduje się w Zakładzie Inżynierii Systemów Energetycznych Uniwersytetu Przyrodniczego w Poznaniu. Jako system wbudowany wykorzystano platformę Arduino, która umożliwiła wymianę informacji pomiędzy komputerem a szafą pomiarowo-sterującą wraz z odczytem wskazań analogowych mierników i sterowaniem obciążeniem hamulca hamowni silnikowej. W celu przejrzystego zobrazowania mierzonych parametrów opracowano autorską aplikację w środowisku .NET, która w czasie rzeczywistym prezentuje wyniki oraz wykreśla charakterystykę prędkościową silnika. Implementacja została przeprowadzona bez naruszania konstrukcji stacji badawczej.

The wave energy, as a clean and non-pollution renewable energy sources, has become a hot research topic at home and abroad and is likely to become a new industry in the future. In this article, to effectively extract and maximize the energy from ocean waves, a vertical axisymmetric wave energy converter (WEC) was presented according to investigating of the advantages and disadvantages of the current WEC. The linear and quadratic equations in frequency-domain for the reactive controlled single-point converter property under regular waves condition are proposed for an efficient power take-off (PTO). A method of damping coefficients, theoretical added mass and exciting force are calculated with the analytical method which is in use of the series expansion of eigen functions. The loads of optimal reactive and resistive, the amplitudes of corresponding oscillation, and the width ratios of energy capture are determined approximately and discussed in numerical results.

The aim of this work is to develop a numerical application to strength and fatigue numerical analysis of jointed-telescopic Power Take-Off shaft. Exemplary results for equivalent of stress in whole shaft and in a part of stress concentration are shown. Presented chart of changing of the number of the correct cycles operation of the PTO shaft depending on the torsional angle allows to predict a shaft life. From numerical analyses of process it follows that the numerically tested system can withstand the load associated with the vibration phenomena and is properly designed. Furthermore, it was found that the shaft at the maximum rotational operating speeds, is working at frequencies under resonance.
Celem niniejszej pracy jest opracowanie aplikacji numerycznej do wytrzymałościowej i zmęczeniowej analizy numerycznej wału przegubowo-teleskopowego. Zamieszczono przykładowe wyniki dla naprężeń zredukowanych dla całego wałka oraz w miejscach ich koncentracji. Zaprezentowany wykres zależności liczby cykli pracy od kąta odchylenia widłaków pozwala na prognozowanie trwałości WPM. Z przeprowadzonych analiz numerycznych procesu wynika, że badany numerycznie układ wytrzymuje obciążenia związane ze zjawiskami drganiowymi i jest prawidłowo zaprojektowany. Ponadto, stwierdzono, że wał przy maksymalnych obrotowych prędkościach roboczych pracuje w częstotliwościach podrezonansowych.

In this paper some selected results related to motor vehicle dynamics have been presented basing on the computer simulations of a sports two-seater performing a power-off straight line maneuver with different road conditions and the lack of a straightline motion control having been included. All simulations have been performed in the MSC Adams/Car environment and the adopted maneuver was performed at the instant speed of 100km/h-1. The selected phenomena have therefore been observed along the road long enough to relate them to different aspects of vehicle dynamics and the road traffic safety research. The adopted vehicle’s model moved along the flat and the randomly uneven road with the almost similar and the almost different profiles for the left and the right wheels. Additionally, two values of the coefficient determining the maxi-mum amplitude of road irregularities have been selected, i.e., 0.3 for the lower and 0.9 for the higher irregularities. This meant that the road conditions have been considered as one of the main factors possibly affecting disturbances of the motor vehicle’s motion. Such research seems valuable from the point of view of the road safety and the vehicles’ maintenance. A power-off straight maneuver is not very often performed during the normal road traffic and might seem useless. However, in this case it seemed essential to test the response of a vehicle’s model to such factors as, e.g., the uneven loading, suspension characteristics, etc. This in turn might prove valuable when considering, e.g., the additional concentration of a driver to overcome the external disturbances acting on a moving vehicle. The presented research is the second part of the paper (Kisilowski, 2019) where the power-off maneuver was considered but with the straightforward motion control. Here, the straight-line control has been switched off to examine an untypical situation where, for example a driver loses consciousness, and the vehicle moves freely along the road.

In this paper the selected phenomena related to motor vehicle’s motion have been considered basing on a computer simulation. The vehicle performed a power-off straight line maneuver with different road conditions being included. This enabled observation of the selected phenomena along the road long enough to relate them to different aspects of vehicle dynamics research. As for the randomly uneven road, almost similar and almost different profiles have been assumed for the left and right wheels of the vehicle. Additionally, two values of the coefficient determining the maximum amplitude of road irregularities have been selected: 0.3 for lower and 0.9 for higher irregularities, so the road surface conditions along with the flat road have been considered as one of the factors causing disturbances of the motor vehicle motion. Such research seems valuable from the point of view of road traffic safety and vehicle maintenance. This specific example is a presentation of the possible research on vehicle dynamics as well as a potential background for further considerations including different types of vehicles along with almost different road profiles for the left and right wheels of the given vehicle model. A power-off straight maneuver is not performed very often in normal road traffic. However, such test could be valuable when analyzing influence of the selected motor vehicle parameters, such as uneven loading, suspension characteristics, etc. on such maintenance features as stability, steerability and the influence of external disturbances acting on the moving vehicle. Further research provides different maneuvers and different simulation conditions.

W artykule porównano bilans zużycia oleju napędowego przez silnik ciągnika FEND FAVORIT 924 pracującego na dwóch polach w terenie. Stwierdzono różnice w zużyciu paliwa przy tej samej mocy silnika w zależności od jego prędkości obrotowej i ustawienia pompy wtryskowej. Wykazano, że poprawa ekonomiczności silnika ciągnikowego powinna przebiegać według modelu pracy silnika jakim jest charakterystyka ogólna.
Results of a tractor plough testing are presented in this paper. Total power characteristic was measured in laboratory. Plough measures were taken in the field. Total fuel consumption, engine speed and the position of the injection pump control rod were measured. Two-engine operation modes were selected, thus both with the same power range, for showing the difference in the economic evaluation.

The article presents an analytical description of the turn-off process of the power MOSFET suitable for use in high-frequency converters. The purpose of this description is to explain the dynamic phenomena occurring inside the transistor and contributing to the switching power losses. The detailed description uses the results of simulation studies carried out using a very precise model of the CoolMOS transistor manufactured by Infineon (IPW60R070C6). The theoretical analysis has been verified in experimental measurements of power dissipated during turn-off transient of MOSFET operating in a full bridge converter with switching frequency of 100 kHz. To estimate these switching losses an original thermovision method based on the measurement of heat dissipated in the power semiconductor switches has been used. The obtained results confirm the correctness of the conclusions drawn from the theoretical analysis presented in this paper.

Obiektem badań jest śmigłowiec Mi-2 plus, dla którego należy opracować technikę sterowania po awarii napędu w czasie wykonywania "pionowych " startów i lądowań na krótkich lądowiskach. Do punktów krytycznych, które należy przeanalizować w badaniach techniki wykonania startów i lądowań na ograniczonym lądowisku należą, przede wszystkim, problem przelotu przez pierścień wirowy oraz problem występowania strefy H-V. Należy wziąć także pod uwagę występowanie przeszkód na terenie lądowiska (zakłada się wysokość przeszkód do około 20 m). W opracowaniu zostały zamieszczone symulacje obliczeniowe sterownia śmigłowcem Mi-2 plus po awarii silnika (dla różnych wysokości wystąpienia awarii). Przedstawiono sposób sterownia pochyleniem kadłuba oraz wartością kąta skoku ogólnego pozwalający na uzyskanie określonych trajektorii lotu. Zamieszczono również niektóre wyniki z prób w locie przeprowadzonych w PZL Świdnik S.A. Na podstawie przeprowadzonych symulacji i badań lotnych stwierdzono, iż istnieje możliwość bezpiecznego wykonania manewrów "pionowych " startów i lądowań.
The object of the tests is the Mi-2 Plus helicopter, for which a method of controlling the helicopter after a power failure during vertical take-off and landing on short landing ground should be designed. The problems of flight through the vortex ring and occurrence of the H-V zone belong to the critical points, which should be analyzed in tests of the method of take-off and landing on a short landing ground. The occurrence of obstacles on the area of the landing ground should also be taken into account (the height of the obstacles is assumed to be up to around 20m). In the development of the tests, numerical simulations of controlling the Mi-2 Plus helicopter after engine failure (for varying height at which the failure took place) were included. A method of control through the inclination of the fuselage as well as the value of the rotor tilt angle, which allows for certain flight trajectories to be obtained, was introduced. Included also were certain results from flight tests carried out at PZL Świdnik S.A. On the basis of the simulations performed and flight tests, it was decided that there exists a possibility of safely performing "vertical" take-off and landing manoeuvres.
