Opis:
When studying porous materials, most acoustical and geometrical parameters can be affected by the presence of uncertainties, which can reduce the robustness of models and techniques using these parameters. Hence, there is a need to evaluate the effect of these uncertainties in the case of modeling acoustic problems. Among these evaluation methods, the Monte Carlo simulation is considered a benchmark for studying the propagation of uncertainties in theoretical models. In the present study, this method is applied to a theoretical model predicting the acoustic behavior of a porous material located in a duct element to evaluate the impact of each input error on the computation of the acoustic proprieties such as the reflection and transmission coefficients as well as the acoustic power attenuation and the transmission loss of the studied element. Two analyses are conducted; the first one leads to the evaluation of the impacts of error propagation of each acoustic parameter (resistivity, porosity, tortuosity, and viscous and thermal length) through the model using a Monte Carlo simulation. The second analysis presents the effect of propagating the uncertainties of all parameters together. After the simulation of the uncertainties, the 95% confidence intervals and the maximum and minimum errors of each parameter are computed. The obtained results showed that the resistivity and length of the porous material have a great influence on the acoustic outputs of the studied model (transmission and reflection coefficients, transmission loss, and acoustic power attenuation). At the same time, the other physical parameters have a small impact. In addition, the acoustic power attenuation is the acoustic quantity least impacted by the input uncertainties.

Opis:
This manuscript proposes an optimal power flow (OPF) solution in a coordinated bilateralpower network. The primary goal of this project is to maximise the benefits of the powermarket using Newton–Raphson (NR) and cuckoo search algorithm CSA methodologies. The global solution is found using a CSA-based optimisation approach. The study isconducted on real-time bus system. To avoid this, creative techniques have lately beenused to handle the OPF problem, such as loadability maximisation for real-time predictionsystems employing the CSA. In this work, cuckoo search (CS) is used to optimise theobtained parameters that help to minimise parameters in the predecessor and consequentunits of each sub-model. The proposed approach is used to estimate the power load in thelocal area. The constructed models show excellent predicting performance based on derivedperformance. The results confirm the method’s validity. The outcomes are compared withthose obtained by using the NR method. CSA outperformed the other methods in thisinvestigation and gave more accurate predictions. The OPF problem is solved via CSAin this study. Implementing a real-time data case bus system is recommended to test theperformance of the established method in the MATLAB programme.

Opis:
The power injection method (PIM) is an experimental method used to identify the statistical energy analysis (SEA) parameters (called loss factors – LFs) of a vibroacoustic system. By definition, LFs are positive real numbers. However, it is not uncommon to obtain negative LFs during experiments, which is considered a measurement error. To date, a recently proposed method, called Monte Carlo filtering (MCF), of correcting negative coupling loss factors (CLFs) has been validated for systems that meet SEA assumptions. In this article, MCF was validated for point connections and in conditions where SEA assumptions are not met (systems with low modal overlap, non-conservative junctions, strong coupling). The effect of removing MCF bias on the results was also examined. During the experiments, it was observed that the bias is inversely proportional to the damping loss factor of the examined subsystems. The obtained results confirm that the PIM, combined with MCF, allows to determine non-negative SEA parameters in all considered cases.

Opis:
Feeder reconfiguration (FR), capacitor placement and sizing (CPS) are the two renowned methods widely applied by the researchers for loss minimization with node voltage enrichment in the electrical distribution network (EDN), which has an immense impact on economic savings. In recent years, optimization of FR and CPS together can proficiently yield better power loss minimization and save costs compared to the individual optimization of FR and CPS. This work proposes an application of an improved salp swarm optimization technique based on weight factor (ISSOT-WF) to solve the cost-based objective function using CPS with and without FR for five different cases and three load levels, subject to satisfying operating constraints. In addition, to ascertain the impact of real power injection on additional power loss reduction, this work considers the integration of dispersed generation units at three optimal locations in capacitive compensated optimal EDN. The effectiveness of ISSOT-WF has been demonstrated on the standard PG&E-69 bus system and the outcomes of the 69-bus test case have been validated by comparing with other competing algorithms. Using FR and CPS at three optimal nodes and due to power loss reduction, cost-saving reached up to a maximum of 71%, and a maximum APLR of 26% was achieved after the installation of DGs at three optimal locations with the significant improvement in the bus voltage profile.

Opis:
Smart Grid is a concept for transforming the electric power grid by using advanced automatic control and communications techniques and other forms of information technology. It integrates innovative tools and technologies from: generation, transmission and distribution. This also includes consumer appliances and equipment. This concept integrates energy infrastructure, processes, devices, information and markets into a coordinated and collaborative process. All allowing energy to be generated, distributed and consumed flexibly and efficiently. However, the Smart Grid with the integration of distributed generation itself also creates a several disadvantages. There can be problems with: stability and reliability, relay protection, isolation and operational isolation in which the problem is to create a burden on the distribution grid when transmitting electrical energy sources. Optimizing power flow and bringing high operating efficiency on Smart Grid conditions is an urgent issue. This paper focuses on researching and proposing solutions for optimal calculation of power flow on Smart Grid. The paper has researched, and analyzed calculation solutions to optimize power flow and proposed to use the Lagrange multiplier method. The study performed calculations for a typical Smart Grid model with three distributed generations. Calculation results have shown that the role of the method is to fully perform the optimal calculation of the power flow on the grid. This is in order to reduce power loss and energy loss as well as increasing operational efficiency while improving power quality in Smart Grid conditions.

This paper analyzes the characteristics of the distributed photovoltaic grid under overload conditions, and further summarizes the problems that the distributed photovoltaic grid will face under these conditions. To solve these problems, the alliance chain technology was introduced into the distributed photovoltaic grid. At the same time, this paper establishes a photovoltaic pricing strategy that considers power transmission loss. Finally, the feasibility of the theory is verified by constructing a virtual model.

Opis:
In this paper Feral Cat Swarm Optimization (FCS) Algorithm is proposed to solve optimal reactive power problem. Projected methodology has been modeled based on the activities of the feral cats. They have two main phases primarily “seeking mode”, “tracing mode”. In the proposed FCS algorithm, population of feral cats are created and arbitrarily scattered in the solution space, with every feral cat representing a solution. Produced population is alienated into two subgroups. One group will observe their surroundings which come under the seeking mode and another group moving towards the prey which will come under the tracing mode. New-fangled positions, fitness functions will be calculated subsequent to categorization of feral cats for seeking mode and tracing mode, through that cat with the most excellent solution will be accumulated in the memory. Feral Cat Swarm Optimization (FCS) Algorithm has been tested in standard IEEE 30 bus test system and simulation results show the projected algorithm reduced the real power loss considerably.

External boundaries of acoustic devices can channel sound propagation, and in some cases can create buildup or attenuation of acoustic energy within a confined space. In this paper, it is proposed an efficient practical numerical method (based on FEM) of calculation of attenuation of sound power transmission through ducts. The method shows its viability by presenting the reasonably consistent anticipation of the experimental result. One can observe the mechanical behaviour of the duct’s medium for lower frequencies (high transmission loss) and wave behaviour for higher frequencies (small or zero attenuation). The authors proved that mechanical vibrations of medium reduce the possibility of acoustic energy transmission in duct systems. The radiation impedance for the duct is calculated as well.

Opis:
The increased power density, reduced switching losses with minimum electromagnetic interference (EMI), and high efficiency are essential requirements of power converters. To achieve these characteristics, soft power converters employing soft switching techniques are indispensable. In this paper, a ZCS/ZVS PWM AC/DC converter topology has been emphasized, which finds applications in high power systems such as automobile battery charging and renewable energy systems. This converter scheme maintains zero current and zero voltage switching conditions at turn on and turn off moments of semiconductor switches, respectively and soft operation of rectifier diodes that lead to negligible switching and diode reverse recovery losses. Moreover, it improves power quality and presents high input power factor, low total harmonic distortion of the input current (THDI ) and improved efficiency. The validity of theoretical analysis of the proposed converter has been carried out experimentally on a 10 kW laboratory prototype. Experimental results prove that the soft switching operation of the semiconductor switches and diodes is maintained at 98.6% rated load efficiency. In addition, the performance evaluation has been performed by comparative analysis of the proposed converter with some prior art high power AC/DC converters. Efficiencies of the proposed and prior art high power topologies have been determined for different load conditions. The highest efficiency, power factor and lower THDI of the proposed converter topology complies with international standards.

The research was done using Jatco company's CVT 7model, the popular gearbox for small passenger cars. Several curves of leakage values are given for both actuators, concerning different conditions such as rotational speed, oil temperature or pressure. In the summary several conclusions are formulated, based on presented test results. The determined maximal value of leakage is about 1 l/min. It emerged that the influence of centrifugal force is negligible. What is more, the observed phenomena are shortly described and projected for more detailed investigation.

The objective of the paper is to develop the reliability importance factors which could identify the plants, which more or less contribute to the increased or decreased power system reliability. One group of importance factors could identify the plants, which with their increased availability would notably increase the power system reliability The other group of the importance factors could identify the plants, which with their reduced availability would notably reduce the power system reliability. The importance factors have been developed. An example of regional power system was considered for the case study. The results identify the power plants which are more susceptible to increase of the loss of load expectation and thus to decreasing of the power system reliability, if their availability is reduced. Similarly, the results identify the power plants which are more susceptible to decreasing of the loss of load expectation and thus to increase of the power system reliability, if their availability is increased. The lists of important factors can serve as a standpoint for inclusion of the power system reliability role within the power system to the planning activities. The lists of importance factors can represent the standpoint for the power system operator to reward the improvement of the power plant availability or to penalize the reduced power plant availability.
