    Od chwili pojawienia się kolei na dzisiejszych ziemiach Polski, 22 maja 1842 r, była ona postrzegana jako sprawny przewoźnik przesyłek. W tym dniu pierwszy pociąg pasażerski przejechł trasę Wrocław - Oława (Breslau - Ohlau). 22 sierpnia 1842 r. rozpoczęto wykonywanie przewozów poczty koleja na trasie Wrocław - Oława - Brzeg, a dalej do Gliwic w tzw. Postpersonenwagen. Od 1 czerwca 1843 r. poczta na tej trasie była przewożona tylko koleją.

    The paper addresses key challenges in passenger transport caused by COVID-19. The aim of the publication is to show the consequences of the pandemic for the evolution of passenger transport and the development directions of the sector, as well as the change in mobile behaviour. Moreover, the paper analyses passenger traffic by air, rail and public transport. The data was compared with the volume and structure of traffic before the pandemic. Regardless of how the scenarios related to the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic will play out, there is no doubt that mobility trends have changed significantly. The pandemic has impacted mobile behaviour primarily through the development of hybrid working, home office, e-commerce or e-entertainment. Indeed, all modes of transport have been affected by the changes. Fast-growing new travel trends like shared mobility have been curtailed due to the fear of coronavirus infection. The passenger transport sector faces many challenges as a result of the epidemic situation, especially as the pandemic has seen a return to private car travel, which conflicts with the tenets of sustainable development, including sustainable mobility.

    W pracy przedstawiono wpływ odległości transportowej na wydajność pracy agregatów i koszty zagospodarowania pofermentu z biogazowni rolniczej 1 MWei. Analizie poddano trzy wozy asenizacyjne wiodących krajowych firm (Joskin, Pomot i Meprozet) o ładowności 18 Mg, współpracujące z ciągnikiem New Holland. Wybrano trzy opcje rozlewu pulpy w zależności od stopnia dostępności pól leżących wokół biogazowni. Stwierdzono, że dla klasycznej biogazowni rolniczej o mocy 1 MWei minimalny obszar niezbędny do zagospodarowania pulpy wynosi ponad 2,5 tys. ha, a odległość transportowa ponad 3,35 km. W efekcie wydajność pracy agregatów jest niewielka (1,43-0,88 ha/h), a większość czasu jest zużywana na przejazdy transportowe. Ogólne koszty zagospodarowania pofermentu z biogazowni rolniczej 1 MWe/ wahają się od ok. 275 tys. zł rocznie (idealne warunki dostępności dla rozlewu 100% powierzchni pól wokół biogazowni) do 380-390 tys. zł przy 25% zagęszczeniu powierzchni pół, na których można prowadzić odzysk metodą RIO.
    This paper presents the influence of transport distance on the tank efficiency and management costs of post-digestate from 1 MW agricultural biogas plant. The work parameters of tree slurry tankers of leading national firms (Joskin, Pomot and Meprozet) of 18 Mg load capacity, cooperating with New Hollandtractor, were analyzed. Three options of digestate pouring were chosen in dependence on accessibility of the fields around the biogas plant. It has been stated that for classic 1 MWel agricultural biogas plant the minimal area indispensable for digestate management amounts over 2500 ha and transport distance over 3,35 km. In result the tank efficiency is small (1,43-0,88 ha/h) and most of the time is used for transport movement. General costs of management of post-digestate form 1 MWel agricultural biogas plant oscillate between 275 000 PLN per year (ideal conditions of accessibility for pouring 100% field area around the biogas plant) up to 380 000-390 000 PLN at 25% density of field area where the recovery with usage of RW method can be applied.

    Opis:
    In the present study the transport work on collecting routes in "Bulgarian Posts" EAD has been analysed. Routes have been defined, in which a reduction of the transport costs is possible if pre-collected information about the availability of letters in the mailboxes is available. For this purpose, an automated system was created, which can recognise the availability of letters and send notifications. The method and the recognition criterion are described and the critical value of the colour temperature criterion was experimentally obtained. The system was tested with typical envelopes and the results showed that recognition had a 100% success rate.

    Automobile traffic has been recently on the rise in many post-socialist cities despite EU policies fostering public transportation and active modes of travel. Against this background, the contribution of this paper is to look deeper into the travel behaviours of residents using a survey of 887 questionnaires as well as GPS travel recordings (almost 3 billion logs) conducted in the city of Poznań (539,000 inhabitants). Based on our analysis we found that proximity to public transport and cycling infrastructure seem to be among the most important factors influencing travel behaviours of inhabitants. What is more, their accessibility affected also residential locational preferences. However, we also observed that even in neighbourhoods with good accessibility, commuting by car plays a major role.

    W artykule przedstawiono wpływ wykorzystania metod spawalniczych w naprawach powypadkowych elementów nadwozi pojazdów na przebieg kolejnego zderzenia. Skupiono się na zastąpieniu podczas naprawy fabrycznych połączeń zgrzewanych spoinami otworowo-punktowymi. Wyniki uzyskane podczas badań dynamicznych dla nowych i naprawionych elementów, wykazały istnienie znacznych różnic w wartościach wielkości opisujących zderzenie.
    This paper shows the influence of welding methods used in the post-accident repair of vehicles body parts on the next collision course. The focus is to replace the spot welds in exactly the places of plug welded joints. The results obtained during the dynamic tests for new and repaired parts, show considerable differences in the values describing the size of the collision.

    The aim of this article is to analyze the pace of expansion of the network of highways and expressways over the past 15 years of membership in the European Union. Joining the European Union by such post-socialist countries as: Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia (2004), Bulgaria, Romania (2007) and Croatia (2013) as well as the funds received for the development of transport infrastructure significantly contributed to the boom in the pace of road investments in these countries. The existing networks of highways and expressways in the 11 analyzed countries are at the stage of creating major national and international connections. The most advanced expansion of the national highway system is taking place in Poland and Hungary. Stable development, with a slight annual growth of the length of new highways, is taking place in Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia. Stagnation in the development of roads of this type is occurring in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. Toll roads are operated in 8 out of 11 analyzed countries. The vignette system for highways is used in Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Romania and Hungary. Toll is paid at tollbooths in Croatia and Poland. Most of the highways in Central Europe are concentrated around the capital agglomerations, e.g. Budapest, Prague, Bratislava, Ljubljana, Zagreb, Sofia and Bucharest, with the exception of Warsaw, which is slowly rebuilding its central position in the network of expressways (A-2, S-7, S-8, S-17) in Poland. The first sections of highways in the discussed countries, except for Poland, were located around the capital cities. The layout of the highway network is often determined by the orography of the terrain, especially the course of mountain ranges, great rivers and coasts. Due to the varied topography, costs are rising, and the construction time of engineering structures such as tunnels, overpasses and bridges is longer, with countries such as Croatia, Slovenia, Slovakia, and recently also the Czech Republic, Poland and Romania being forced to build them.

    Opis:
    Surveillance of the sea borders is a very important task for the Border Guard. Monitoring of country maritime border is an important task of the Border Guard. This task can be facilitated with the use of the technology enabling gathering information from distributed sources and its supervision and visualization. This task can be accomplished using a technology that allows to collect information from distributed sensors of different types, unify the collected information, and present the synchronized data. The system presented in the paper is an extension and enhancement of the previously developed distributed map data exchange system. The added functionality allows to supplement the map data with multimedia (telephone and radio calls, video (cameras), photos, files, SMS/SDS) and presentation of current and archival situation on a multi-display screen in the Events Visualization Post. In the paper, the system architecture, functionality and main system elements are described and supported with preliminary analysis and test results.

    The passage through the Panama Canal has become the usual waterway for all the ships that can navigate through the Canal. The traffic through the canal is limited by the size of a ship. The need for the expansion of the Canal has emerged due to the development of the global trade and the shipping industry. The new dimensions of the lock-chambers determine the size of the ships as well. The new generation of ships built to the largest specifications possible to transit the current locks of the canal are called the Post-Panamax vessels. The maximum dimensions of these ships are 366 meters in length, 49 meters in beam and 15.2 metres in draught. The paper analyses savings in the operational costs on three types of the Post-Panamax vessels after the Canal expansion.

    Niniejszy artykuł opisuje dzieje kolei na ziemiach polskich w ujęciu historycznoprawnym. Obejmuje dobę porozbiorową, Drugą Rzeczpospolitą i Polskę Ludową. W opracowaniu pokazano, iż początkowo budowa kolei następowała z inicjatywy podmiotów prywatnych (głównie towarzystw akcyjnych). Podmioty te były jednak przez rządy nadzorowane, a budowa i eksploatacja linii kolejowych była działalnością koncesjonowaną. W drugiej połowie XIX wieku nastąpił proces nacjonalizacji kolei. Poszczególne rządy w pełni doceniły wartość transportu kolejowego dla rozwoju gospodarki i wzmocnienia obronności państwa. Ponadto państwo przejmowało linie nierentowne oraz wspierało tworzenie tras lokalnych. W artykule opisano również historyczny rozwój przedsiębiorstwa „Polskie Koleje Państwowe” oraz scharakteryzowano akty prawne, odnoszące się do militaryzacji kolei.
    This papers refers to the legal-history of railways on Polish lends. It includes post-partition period, the Second Republic of Poland and the Polish People’s Republic. The construction of railways was at first an initiative of the private sector. However, the latter were supervised by the State and the construction and exploitation of railways was licensed. The nationalization process of railways began in the second half of the XIX Century because of their importance for the national economy and defense. Incidentally, nationalization included unprofitable and local railways. The paper speaks also of the company history of “Polish State Railways” and the militarization of railways in Poland.

    Purpose: The article deals with the development of the e-commerce market as a challenge for international maritime transport and shipping. The aim of the study is to analyze the current, post-andemic factors in the development of the e-commerce market and its impact on the functioning of the maritime transport and shipping market, with an indication of the synthetic implications for changes that should be introduced to improve the functioning of maritime transport, goods responding to the demand expressed on the global e-commerce market. Design/methodology/approach: The article uses the method of analyzing the literature and the method of analyzing data from public statistics on the development and functioning of the e-commerce market as well as shipping and sea transport in 2012-2020. Findings: The main factors of development and problems resulting from the development of the e-commerce market before and after the Covid 19 pandemic were identified as challenges for the transport and shipping of goods by sea. Practical implications: Organization of the supply chain in the area of targeting the development of transport services and international freight forwarding based on maritime transport and shipping. Originality/value: The value and originality of the articles results from a thorough review of the current literature on the subject and statistical data on the functioning of enterprises from the e-commerce market as well as transport and sea freight. The recipients of the results of this work may be managers and persons shaping the rules of functioning on the maritime transport and shipping market.
