Opis:
In this article we analyse how participation in a healthy life style training program affected self-esteem and positive thinking of pupils from 4 post-primary schools of Mazovia Province. Teenagers participating in “Winners’ Training” were involved in action and encouraged to take responsibility for their own development in an area of physical fitness and psychological well- being. 21 days long training, covering healthy nutrition training, intensive physical exercise training, and positive thinking training, resulted – apart from noted increase of physical parameters – in improvement of reported by participants psychological well-being, and increase of the level of their self-esteem and of the level of positive thinking The factor, which most clearly affected the variation of obtained results, was the level of commitment to the entire program on the part of school top management, which resulted in greater commitment of involved teachers, and finally in greater commitment of pupils, who put more attention and effort in the training. Teenagers voluntarily participating in the program in “more committed” schools received not only coaching, but also a lot of positive information about the program and the issues it covered, and more appreciation of their participation in it. As it seems, the increase of the measured psychological parameters resulted to greater degree from the level of individual commitment than from the measured increase of physical fitness.

Opis:
Alcohol abuse is one of the main causes of health problems in the world. In response to these alcohol-related health consequences, telehealth supportive counseling has emerged, offering new strategies of dealing with addition problems. Most of telehealth supportive counseling strategies are focused on coping more precisely with positive and negative thinking. The aim of presented study was to examine the relationships between positive thinking, and other coping strategies inherent to human thinking, to refuse alcohol. For this purpose, a total of 232 people participated in the study, all of them were users of a telehealth supportive counseling in Brazil. A batch of questionnaires was employed. This included the sociodemographic information, IDHEA-AD scores and the Coping Behaviours Inventory (CBI-20). After an analysis of mediation, the results indicated that the relationship between negative and positive thinking might be mediated by the assertiveness to refuse. These results suggest that this type of supportive counseling modality might be helpful for users and health professionals. More research is needed to examine the innumerable possibilities of the telehealth tools using as a strategy to deal with the coping variables related to quitting alcohol use.
Zastosowano następujące kwestionariusze: ankietę socjodemograficzną, kwestionariusz do badania umiejętności odmawiania alkoholu i narkotyków (IDHEA-AD) oraz Katalog Zachowań związanych z radzeniem sobie z problemami (Coping Behaviours Inventory – CBI-20).

In this article, I analyse features of positive thinking which have made this ideological trend come to be a perceived as a panacea for the whole spectrum of shortcomings felt by many modern people and, in their conviction, are blocking their ability to succeed and enjoy life. Most therapies and self-improvement techniques offered are now deeply embedded in modern reality and, irrespective of their intellectual level, proven results or magical atmosphere, are highly popular. Therefore, we should ask why this has happened, i.e. what do individual positive thinking schools actually offer? In this article I present concepts which lead to answer this question.

This literature review analyzes ten specialized papers which focus on the issue of higher creativity among children and pupils with dyslexia. The aim of the article is to determine the level of creativity in this group, what may might affect the level of creativity among them, and whether there are significant differences in some areas between children and pupils with dyslexia and intact (typically developed) children and pupils. In connection with dyslexia, its possible advantages – and not only disadvantages – are beginning to be discussed, which are developing in the context of possible shortcomings. In children and pupils with dyslexia, increased creative potential and excellent visualization skills have been reported. Based on foreign research, a significantly higher level of creativity was not clearly demonstrated in children and pupils with dyslexia in comparison with intact children and pupils.

Opis:
A high professional level is one of the fundamental quality parameters in the process of education. Therefore, the pregradual education of future teachers should be transformed in terms of both the changing requirements on education and the changing role of the teacher. The paper discusses basic principles of critical thinking required from future primary school teachers as a key for the introduction and implementation of progressive changes in the school system. Furthermore, the paper comments on the results of a questionnaire-based survey in the academic year 2020/2021. Its main purpose was to identify the misgivings of the 1st year MA students concerning the development of critical thinking in primary school pupils in three areas: the development of an inclusive education environment and a positive social climate in a classroom; education planning and design; and asking questions.
