    Interests allow young people to define themselves, encourage the formation of positive elements of their own identity, and give value and importance to their own activities. The issues related to the components of young people’s identities have been a subject of increasing research interest in recent years. As it has been determined, there is a lack of data in Poland regarding the role of educational environments in shaping a positive identity based on the development of young people’s interests. The purpose of the study is to identify the general level of interests among adolescents. Additionally, it is important to determine whether the level of interests is linked to sense of coherence and resilience. The study was carried out on a sample of 635 adolescents of both genders, aged 14-18 years old. The participants were students of lower secondary schools of the Podlaskie Voivodeship. The following research tools were used in the study: Life Orientation Questionnaire (SOC-29), Resilience Scale (SPP-18), and author’s own measurement tool: Level of Interests Measurement Scale. In the sample of adolescents, general sense of coherence and sense of comprehensibility proved to be positively correlated with general level of interests. Regression analysis demonstrated the significance of psychological resilience components and sense of coherence factors that support the development of interests. Preventive and educational work should aim to support the shaping of a positive and creative identity by stimulating the potentials, resources and talents of young people. Young people’s passions and interests should be stimulated and encouraged towards creating a positive identity.

    The main approaches and characteristics of political identity types connected with transformation of political regimes and society crises are analyzed. It is revealed that the state of the society results in the dominance of crisis and negative identity. The functional peculiarities of negative identity in the period of war conflicts have been considered.

    The purpose of the article: The importance of the magazine “Znad Wilii” in the years 1989–1994 in building a positive identity of Poles at the Vilnius region, is an analysis of topics that were discussed at the journal, I will also try to reflect the prevailing social climate among Poles at the Vilnius region during the democratic transition, the collapse of the Soviet Union regime. An attempt to take the analysis of that issue is important because of the fact that local Poles efforts to establish a more intensive relations with Poland. For example by through the development of mutual relations between the Civic Parliamentary Club (Obywatelski Klub Parlamentarny), Solidarity, and the Lithuanian Sajūdis (this issue was raised, inter alia, in the article: Beginning of a common path – Początek wspólnej drogi), importance of the Polish minority in Lithuania, as well as a common history and memory of the First Republic – Respublica Serenissima and its importance in shaping contemporary identities of the nations of Central and Eastern Europe. Articles that were published during this period in the journal “Znad Wilii” are certainly interesting material, worthy of analysis in this study, also because of the important historical period in which they were submitted.

    The paper analyses some elements which create the identity of legal culture. These elements are determined by Greek philosophy, Roman law (the Mediterranean culture) and Christian solidarity. These included positive law (legem ponere), jurisprudence, academic teaching, legal text, axiological autonomy of law, Roman law as origin of civil law and its reception, legitimization of law. The paper focuses particularly on problematic aspects of legitimization of law. In the literature of jurisprudence the problem of the legitimacy (justifying) of law is presented as the justification for the external validity of law or as a justification for the absolute validity. The history of philosophy of law demonstrates that we can talk about same arguments, which may be referred to as transcendental. Those are ultimate conditions of justifying any kind of being – here this particular being is the law. Firstly, this paper presents two trends (traditions) in the literature of philosophy that have developed the concept of transcendental method, and thus the content of the concept of transcendentalism. Secondly, it presents four arguments which justify the existence of law and which can be called the transcendental arguments.

    Drawing inspiration om Joseph T. O’Connell’s work on socio‐cultural integration, this pa‐ per connects the notion of ‘deep equality’ with two broad lessons that can be taken om O’Connell’s approach that pertain to the study of religious diversity in contemporary life. The rst is the recognition of the amorphous nature of religious identity, and the second is the necessity to search for models of socio‐cultural integration in the face of di erence. These lessons are valuable in providing an alternative discourse of diversity that moves away om problematisation to collaboration.
