    Simulation computer modeling was used to evaluate the efficiency of the vessel’s observed coordinates using the mixed laws of distribution errors of the first and second type for lines of position (LOP). Simulation modeling showed good convergence of evaluation of efficiency calculated by analytical expressions and obtained by simulation. A graphical depiction of the observed points’ deviation relative to the mathematical expectation in the case of distribution of LOP errors of both types according to mixed laws is obtained by the method of least squares and the method of maximum likelihood estimation.

    W drugim z serii artykułów przedstawiono wyniki badań stacjonarnych dla różnych konfiguracji zestawu 10 odbiorników GNSS zaliczanych do grupy "low-cost". Na wstępie omówiono definicje podstawowych błędów określających dokładności wskazań odbiorników GNSS oraz zastosowane w badaniach scenariusze pomiarowe. Badania przeprowadzono na trzech stanowiskach pomiarowych, dobierając je w taki sposób, aby możliwe było sprawdzenie poprawności pracy odbiorników, zarówno dla bardzo korzystnych jak i bardzo niekorzystnych warunków odbioru sygnałów GNSS. Wyniki badań przedstawiają silną korelację warunków środowiskowych z błędami wyznaczania pozycji. W badaniu przeanalizowano wpływ różnych konfiguracji odbiorników na dokładność oraz precyzję pomiarów.
    In the second article of a series we present the results of our researches into different configurations of a set of 10, low-cost GNSS receivers. Firstly, we give definitions of basic factors which determine the accuracy of GNSS receivers and have also discussed the measurements scenarios used in the study. The study was conducted at three measuring locations by adjusting it in such a way that their performance could be checked under both very good and very poor conditions GNSS signals reception conditions. The results show a strong correlation between environmental conditions and errors in indicated positions reported by the equipments. The study analyzed the effect of different receiver configurations on the accuracy and precision of measurements.

    The paper presents the results of comparative analysis of influence of different methods of TDC determination for the calculation errors of mean indicated pressure (MP). Lemag method based on zero point of first order derivative, used in PREMET pressure analyzers, was compared to the method based on a polynomial model of the compression process. Comparisons were made on the operating measurement data obtained on the low speed marine engine RTA96C which forms the main propulsion of the vessel and the medium speed engine MAN L28/32A. Measurements were made with onboard combustion PREMET analyzer. It was found that the method based on zero point of first order derivative can give the deviations of position of TDC in excess of 2°CA which is caused by disturbances associated with the measurement of pressure and interference associated with the generation of the angular axis. These errors are related to the accuracy of the methods of determining of the first derivative and the availability of a sufficient range of pure compression after TDC. The best results of determining the TDC position was obtained from the original method based on a polynomial model of the compression process. It should be emphasized that the proposed method enables individual adjustment of TDC for each cylinder and can be used even when the combustion begins before TDC. The conducted research proved the existence of significant influence of indicator graph TDC location on the mean indicated pressure calculation errors.

    . This study presents a modified algorithm to determine the accuracy of GPS positioning in aerial navigation. To achieve this, a mixed model with measurement weights was used to determine the resultant value of accuracy of aerial vehicle positioning. The measurement weights were calculated as a function of the number of GPS tracking satellites. The calculations were performed on actual GPS measurement data recorded by two onboard GNSS receivers installed onboard a Cessna 172 aircraft. The flight test was conducted around the military airport in Dęblin. The conducted analyses demonstrated that the developed algorithm improved the accuracy of GPS positioning from 62 to 91% for horizontal coordinates and between 16-83% for the vertical component of the aerial vehicle position in the BLh ellipsoidal frame. The obtained test results show that the developed method improves the accuracy of aircraft position and could be applied in aerial navigation.

    The paper presents the results of research on the determination of the accuracy parameter for European Geostationary Navigation Overlay System (EGNOS) positioning for a dual set of on-board global navigation satellite system (GNSS) receivers. The study focusses in particular on presenting a modified algorithm to determine the accuracy of EGNOS positioning for a mixed model with measurement weights. The mathematical algorithm considers the measurement weights as a function of the squared inverse and the inverse of the position dilution of precision (PDOP) geometrical coefficient. The research uses actual EGNOS measurement data recorded by two on-board GNSS receivers installed in a Diamond DA 20-C airplane. The calculations determined the accuracy of EGNOS positioning separately for each receiver and the resultant value for the set of two GNSS receivers. Based on the conducted tests, it was determined that the mixed model with measurement weights in the form of a function of the inverse square of the PDOP geometrical coefficient was the most efficient and that it improved the accuracy of EGNOS positioning by 37%–63% compared to the results of position errors calculated separately for each GNSS receiver.

    This paper is to develop the position error equations including the attitude errors, the errors of nadir and ship’s heading, and the errors of ship’s position in the free-gyro positioning and directional system. In doing so, the determination of ship’s position by two free gyro vectors was discussed and the algorithmic design of the free-gyro positioning and directional system was introduced briefly. Next, the errors of transformation matrices of the gyro and body frames, i.e., attitude errors, were examined and the attitude equations were also derived. The perturbations of the errors of the nadir angle including ship’s heading were investigated in each stage from the sensor of rate of motion of the spin axis to the nadir angle obtained. Finally, the perturbation error equations of ship’s position used the nadir angles were derived in the form of a linear error model and the concept of FDOP was also suggested by using covariance of position error.

    In most problems encountered in navigation, imprecision and uncertainty dominate. Methods of their processing rely on rather obsolete formalisms based on probability and statistics. Available solutions exploit a limited amount of available data, and knowledge is necessary to interpret the achieved results. Profound a posteriori analysis is rather limited; thus, the informative context of solutions is rather poor. Including knowledge in a nautical data processing scheme is impossible. Remaining stuck with the traditional formal apparatus, based on probability theory, one cannot improve the informative context of obtained results. Traditional approaches toward solving problems require assumptions imposed by the probabilistic model that exclude possibility of modelling uncertainty. It should be noticed that the flexibility of exploited formalism decide the quality of upgrading models and, subsequently, on the universality of the final results. Therefore, extension of the available formalisms is a challenge to be met. Many publications devoted to the mathematical theory of evidence (MTE) and its adaptation for nautical science in order to support decision making in navigational processes have enabled one to submit and defend the following proposition. Many practical problems related to navigational ship conducting and to feature uncertainty can be solved with MTE; the informative context of the obtained results is richer when compared to those acquired by traditional methods. Additionally, a posteriori analysis is an inherent feature of the new foundations. The brief characteristics of a series of publications devoted to the new methodology are the main topics of this paper.

    W 2014 roku i w pierwszych miesiącach 2015 roku sytuacja płatnicza Polski była stabilna, o czym świadczyła choćby mała zmienność kursu złotego do euro. Analiza danych bilansu płatniczego wskazuje nawet na możliwość pojawienia się tendencji do jej wzmocnienia, gdyż duży deficyt płatności handlowych oraz deficyt rachunku bieżącego utrzymał się, drugi rok z rzędu, na znacznie zredukowanym poziomie w stosunku do lat poprzednich. Ponieważ Polska jest krajem dłużniczym netto, w dłuższej perspektywie zagrożenia wynikają ze struktury międzynarodowej pozycji inwestycyjnej – dużej przewagi pasywów nad aktywami, oraz z ich struktury – pasywa są znacznie bardziej rentowne niż aktywa. W rezultacie, rozchody w rachunku pierwotnym z tytułu obsługi pasywów przekraczają już 5% polskiego PKB. Może to w przyszłości doprowadzić polską gospodarkę do stagnacji, gdyż ograniczy wewnętrzną konsumpcję i inwestycje.
    In 2014 and in the first months of 2015, the paying situation of Poland was stable what was evidenced at least by low variability of exchange rate of the zloty to the euro. An analysis of the data of the balance of payments even indicates the possibility of emergence the tendency to reinforce it as the high deficit of trade payments and the current account deficit remained, for the second year in a row, at a considerably reduced level vis-à-vis previous years. As Poland is a net debtor state, in a long run threats emerge from the structure of international investment position – the large advantage of liabilities over assets, as well as from their structure – liabilities are much more profitable than assets. In result, disbursements for the primary account by virtue of servicing of liabilities already exceed 5% of Polish GDP. This may have led the Polish economy in the future to stagnation as it will constrain internal consumption and investments.
