- The television creates a particular reality in which the participants of the interaction organise their activities. At the same time, these activities follow particular standards and rules which condition the institutional framework and influence both moderator’s and her guests’ activities during a political talkshow. The role of the moderator is strictly connected with such activities as creating, steering, controlling and sustaining interactions realized in the communicative framework of a political talkshow. These activities are a logical consequence of the theory of moderation adopted. The moderator is a person who is responsible for communication among the participants of a political talkshow. The aim of the paper, thus, is to characterize the communicative activities, verbal, para-verbal and non-verbal behaviours of the moderator.
