    Music is one of the aural components of radio drama. The aim of this article is to de-scribe the function as well as the meaning of music in radio drama. Numerous examples used in this paper indicate a dual character of music in radio drama: on the one hand, it is created by a composer as original music, but on the other hand, it constitutes musical background in most radio plays. The paper takes its departure point in semiotic theory and research.

    The aim of this article is to show the functions which music can perform in radio report-age. The analysis is based on documentaries created over the past decade by famous Polish reporters, such as Katarzyna Michalak, Cezary Galek, Julia Prus and Hanna Bo-gorya-Zakrzewska together with Ernest Zozuń. Fragments of their works were used as the exemplification of the different roles which soundtrack can perform, such as: to illus-trate, to describe, as well as to complete narration, composition or the characteristics of a situation, people, etc.

    The bill aims to implement the Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council (EU) on Audio-visual Media Services. The draft also provides for modifications of consumer protection regulations and an increase in the number of entities obliged to finance the activities of the Polish Film Institute.

    Since the early 1990s, the process of building a national identity among Polish minorities living on the territory of the Republic of Lithuania has clearly intensified. On the one hand, new Polish media initiatives have recently appeared in the digital space, where, until recently, the Polish community has not been widely represented. The first one is Wilnoteka - a multimedia web-based application, which uses the experience and materials of the television studio in Vilnius. Apart from Wilnoteka, Infopol has had an online versions of the daily Vilnius Kurier, Vilnius weekly and Vilnius Magazine for several years. In 2012 Delfi launched the project “Polish schools in Lithuania”, which resulted in a network of Internet portals building relationships between students and teachers in the Republic of Lithuania. Radio by the Neris has been one of the main centers of Polish thought and culture in Lithuania for over twenty years. It also operates several blogs and fanpages devoted primarily to Vilnius. However, the internet does not have professional media reaching to English speaking community of Polish origin who come from the present territory of the Republic of Lithuania and who live around the world. The editors of the Polish media pay attention to the fast expansion of Russian media in Lithuania and low activity of the Polish media. Therefore, we should consider what activities should be taken by the Polish authorities in order to form right conditions for the development of Polish television in Lithuania. Moreover, the media offer should be expanded and should include historical themes, for example the analysis of the fate of the Poles worldwide after 1945.

    Artykuł porusza zagadnienie sposobu funkcjonowania i działalności pionu łączności radiowej Okręgu Białystok AK. Analizuje dzieje tego pionu, począwszy od jego utworzenia w marcu 1944 r. (po rozwiązaniu Okręgu Białystok AK), po jego rozbicie w wyniku obławy Urzędu Bezpieczeństwa Publicznego w lipcu 1945 r. W trakcie ponadrocznej działalności pionu Okręg Białystok nadał kilkadziesiąt depesz – skierowanych zarówno do polskich władz w Londynie, jak i Komendy Głównej. Prezentowały one różne informacje, czasami bardzo ważne, inne natomiast nakreślały panującą na Białostocczyźnie sytuację, w szczególności obraz okupacji sowieckiej.
    This article deals with the functions and activity of the radio communication division of the Home Army in the Białystok District. The history of this department is presented, starting from its creation in March 1944 (after the dissolution of the Home Army in the Białystok Area), to its disintegration as a result of a manhunt conducted by the Public Security Office in July 1945. During more than a year’s activity, the Białystok District sent dozens of dispatches – both to the Polish authorities in London and to Command Headquarters. These dispatches concerned various and sometimes very important matters, which included reports outlining the prevailing situation in the Białystok region, in particular the extent of the Soviet occupation.
    Der Aufsatz befasst sich mit der Funktionsweise und Tätigkeit der Funkabteilung des bürgerlichen Bezirks Białystok der Heimatarmee. Sie analysiert die Geschichte dieser Division von ihrer Gründung im März 1944 (nach der Auflösung des regulären Białystok-Bezirks der Heimatarmee) bis zu ihrer Auflösung im Zuge der Fahndung des Amtes für öffentliche Sicherheit im Juli 1945. Im Laufe der mehr als einjährigen Tätigkeit der Division hat der Bezirk Białystok mehrere Dutzend Depeschen an die polnischen Behörden in London und an das Hauptquartier versendet. Sie präsentierten verschiedene wichtige Informationen, während andere die vorherrschende Situation in der Region Białystok, insbesondere das Bild der sowjetischen Besatzung, darstellten.

    Autor przedstawia i analizuje przepisy ustawy o radiofonii i telewizji, ustawy o nabywaniu nieruchomości przez cudzoziemców oraz prawa farmaceutycznego przyznające kompetencje do kontroli koncentracji pomiędzy przedsiębiorcami odpowiednio: Przewodniczącemu Krajowej Rady Radiofonii i Telewizji, ministrowi właściwemu do spraw wewnętrznych oraz wojewódzkim inspektorom farmaceutycznym. W szczególności zwraca on uwagę na to, że przesłanki oceny legalności fuzji, a także cele kontroli koncentracji przez powyższe organy są odmienne niż przesłanki oceny i cele kontroli koncentracji przez Prezesa Urzędu Ochrony Konkurencji i Konsumentów. Autor omawia problemy związane z interpretacją przepisów dotyczących „nieantymonopolowej” kontroli fuzji powstałe na skutek prób ich obchodzenia przez przedsiębiorców, którzy wykorzystują w tym celu wielopoziomowe struktury kapitałowe oraz postuluje taką ich wykładnię, która będzie zgodna z intencją ustawodawcy.
    The author lists and analyzes those provisions of the Polish Law on Radio and Television, the Law on Acquiring Real Estate by Foreigners and the Pharmaceutical Law, which grant competences to review mergers to, respectively: the President of the National Broadcasting Council, minister responsible for internal affairs and regional (voivodships’) pharmaceutical inspectors. In particular, the author focuses on the fact that the criteria for the review of such mergers’ legality, as well as the objectives of merger control performed by these specialized administrative bodies, differ from those considered during competition law based merger control performed by the President of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection. Discussed are problems related to the interpretation of legal provisions on non-competition law based merger control resulting from attempts by companies to bypass them. It is argued that entrepreneurs often try to escape such control through the creation of multilevel corporate vehicles. The author proposes such interpretation of the discussed provisions that will prevent companies from doing so and will thus be consistent with the intention of the legislator.
