    Opis:
    Jednym z najbardziej znanych typów wizerunków ikonograficznych w Kościele Wschodnim jest ikona Chrystusa Pantokratora (Wszechwładcy). Obraz ten w swoim typie ma genezę wczesnochrześcijańską. Należy wiązać to przedstawienie ikoniczne z tematyką Wniebowstąpienia oraz zagadnieniem zobrazowania w malarstwie sakralnym – kwestii czasów eschatycznych, tj. Powtórnego Przyjścia (Paruzji) Jezusa Chrystusa w Boskiej Chwale na ziemię, aby sądzić żywych i umarłych, (jako władca całego Stworzenia). Tekst jest komentarzem do kopii tego typu obrazu, zamieszczonego na okładce czasopisma.
    One of the best known types of iconic image in the Eastern Orthodox Church is the icon of Christ Pantocrator. The genesis of this type of icon goes back to the times of Early Christianity. This iconic presentation is to be connected with the theme of the Ascension and the problem of pictorial renderings in sacral painting – the question of the Second Coming (Parousia) of Jesus Christ in God’s Glory on the earth, to judge the living and the dead (as the Lord of the whole Creation). The text is a commentary on the copy of this type of the picture reproduced on the cover of the journal.

    Opis:
    Alcohol consumption by a woman during pregnancy may result in a number of developmental disorders in her offspring, known as (fetal alcohol syndrome – FAS). They relate to, among others, acquisition of language and communication competence problems, manifested, among others, by incorrect articulation, deficits in inflection and syntax, and irregularities in creating narrative forms of expression. The subject of this paper is describing of a picture by ten-year-olds with fetal alcohol syndrome and their peers from a control group. Findings indicate that children with FAS have difficulty using the following procedures: generalization of events, spatiality of description, presentability of events, and characterization of elements of reality. These people, while creating descriptions of pictures, usually do not use formulas that allow to begin a statement and present the content of the described events, introduce individual space plans in a disorderly manner, do not use the right wording, omit many important details related to the characteristics of individual elements of reality and the relationships that occur between them. The abnormalities mentioned above are related to the poverty of content and the abnormal structure of texts constructed by ten-year-olds with FAS.
    Spożywanie alkoholu przez kobietę w czasie ciąży może skutkować wystąpieniem u jej potomka określonych zaburzeń rozwojowych, określanych mianem płodowego zespołu alkoholowego (fetal alcohol syndrome – FAS). Dotyczą one m.in. nabywania kompetencji językowych i komunikacyjnych, co objawia się np. niewłaściwą artykulacją, deficytami w zakresie fleksji i składni, a także nieprawidłowościami w tworzeniu narracyjnych form wypowiedzi. Tematem artykułu jest realizacja opisu obrazka przez dziesięciolatki z płodowym zespołem alkoholowym i ich rówieśników z grupy kontrolnej. Wyniki badań wskazują na trudności w zakresie stosowania przez dzieci z FAS następujących procedur: generalizacji zdarzeń, przestrzenności opisu, prezentatywności zdarzeń i charakterystyki elementów rzeczywistości. Osoby te, tworząc opisy obrazków, przeważnie nie stosują formuł pozwalających rozpocząć wypowiedź i prezentować treść opisywanych wydarzeń, wprowadzają w sposób nieuporządkowany poszczególne plany przestrzeni, nie stosują przy tym właściwych sformułowań, pomijają wiele istotnych szczegółów związanych z charakterystyką poszczególnych elementów rzeczywistości i relacjami, jakie zachodzą między nimi. Wymienione nieprawidłowości mają związek z ubóstwem treści i nieprawidłową strukturą tekstów konstruowanych przez dziesięciolatki z FAS.

    Opis:
    In Greek Novel as well as in the early periods of Greek literature are known descriptions of pictures made by painters or by other artists. This paper is concentrated mainly on the paintings that are the starting points Longus’ Daphnis and Chloe, and Achilles Tatius’ The Adventures of Leucippe and Cleitophon. A special attention is given to the beginning Heliodorus’ Aethiopica, where though the opening scene is not a description of a painting, nevertheless it is presented like a painting. Also other paintings are discussed which occur in the above mentioned novels. In conclusion, a stress is put on the novelty of Heliodorus who introduces to Greek novel a new way of using description of paintings, and different objects, and also creates scenes similar to paintings.

    The subject of the description are meanings of the lexeme earth and phrases with this lexeme, noted by dictionaries. The reconstruction of the language picture of earth, based on linguistic facts, shows how people imagine the world surrounding them.     Analyzing co-occurrence of nouns naming emotions of the group «Compassion» with other words as registered in the Ukrainian national linguistic corpus, the author provides the description of these emotions in the world picture of Ukrainian: their outer and inner manifestations, intensity, duration, thermal and quantitative characteristics as well as their assessment. Also, she describes the conceptualization of emotions of the group «Compassion» in Ukrainian language consciousness.
