Goal: identify differences in the quality of life, life satisfaction and self-esteem between women who taking and not taking regular physical activity. Method and research group: The study included adult women who attended dance classes (research group N = 36) and women who did not dance and did not participate in any regular sports activities (N = 38). The average age of women was 52 years. Data were collected using the Quality of Life Questionnaire by M. Stras-Romanowska, A. Oleszkiewicz & T. Frackowiak, Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS) by E. Diener, R.A. Emmons, R.J. Larson & S. Griffins and Self Esteem Scale (SES) by M. Rosenberg. Results: Statistical analyzes showed that women attending dance classes had significantly higher levels of self-esteem, satisfaction with life and quality of life than inactive dancers. The lack of diversity has only emerged in the metaphysical component of quality of life (U Mann-Whitney’s statistics did not turn out to be significant). Conclusions: Dance activity is associated with a higher level of quality of life of the examined women

Opis:
The present paper aims to perform a detailed analysis of all available results of physical and chemical testing of recultivated land, in order to determine which of them significantly influence their quality, and should thereby form the basic criteria for the evaluation and for the development of the methods of management of lands subject to recultivation. The samples of soil from Piaseczno dump area were tested. The test results have allowed to state that the method proposed by Gruszczyński, based on the physical properties of soil, with special respect to the water and air properties and sorption abilities, allows to properly evaluate the quality of such soil. The method allows also to take account of changes in soil quality, occurring as a result of the soil-creation process initiated by the recultivation.

Opis:
After the worldwide physical education crisis, so called PETE at university level is one of the focal point to promote quality Physical Education. In this situation, in 1997, Education Personnel Training Council in Ministry of Education , Science and Culture(since 2001 Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology; MEXT) in Japan has informed the Council Report on strategy for improving teacher education system in the future. In 2008, the Course of Studies for elementary and junior high schools were introduced in 2008 and that of for senior high school in 2009. Also system for renewing educational personnel certificates is introduced formally from 2009. Based on this situation on PETE reform movement, tasks and trends in PETE at university level in Japan was shown in this article. In Japanese PETE system, there is discrepancy between needed competency for physical education teachers and image of physical education teacher in general. Most important problem in this recognition would be poor knowledge on competencies requested for physical education teacher as profession. To overcome this discrepant, one need to discuss the better way to change employment system to profession. At university level, even through simulated class based on reflection has introduced in some universities, content knowledge and pedagogical knowledge are usually taught separately. In this sense, one should consider again better way to enhance PCK at university level and to make tentative content and performance standard for them related with CPD. In this context, first step to improve PETE curriculum has just begun in JAPAN.

The report presents the internship analysis results between the p hysical activity during the week and life quality fields in mid and late adolescence of students in different sport level. In the research took part students from secondary schools and universities from Slovakia (n=308). The life quality was observed via m odificated questionnaire SQUALA and the level of the physical activity during the week in hours (PA). The results are presented by descriptive characteristics (n, M, SD) and the statistic importance of differences, relations is rated by non – parametric me thods (W, U, r s ) at the levels of importance (p< 0. 05, p< 0. 20; p = level of significant = p - value = 1%, 5%, 10%, 20%).Positive interactions PA with life quality fields were found in mid adolescence. In the group of active athletes in mid adolescence were pr oved positive interactions with the f ield of physical well - being (p<0. 10), field of appearance and possession of things (p<,01), by occasional athletes with the spiritual field (p< 0. 01) and the field of education (p< 0. 20). In the group of students in late adolescence was proved a positive interaction PA only with the field of material safety (p<0.01).It was repeatedly proved that mid and late adolescence is a very stormy and unstable period of lifetime, mainly when talking about satisfaction with life qual ity. The importance of life quality plays a great role in the lives of adolescents. It was also pointed out that there are possibilities to influence the fields of life quality via physical activities, but especially the importance of creating sufficient c ircumstances to enhance the life quality in social environment of adolescents. The contribution was published via the grant resource MŠ SR KEGA 003UKF - 4/2016.

Opis:
Liver transplantation has become one of the most effective treatments for end-stage renal disease. For patients, however, the decision to have orthotopic liver transplantation (OLT) is often made in an effort to improve their quality of life and to reduce their risk of mortality and morbidity. Quality of life is an important aspect of therapy for transplant patients because this category reflects the subjective evaluation of one's own life in the physical, psychological and social dimensions. One of the means to achieve a better quality of life is not only good health, but also physical activity. Physical activity has been demonstrated to be of significance not only in the assessment of fitness levels but also could be of importance in long term recovery process after major surgical operations. The aim of this study was a review of literature showing the improved quality of life in patients after liver transplantation as well as the influence of physical activity on their physical health, mental health and quality of life after transplantation. Longitudinal data showed remarkable improvement of common domains of QOL comparing pre- and post-transplant items. Gender, occupation and regular physical activity have an influence on the quality of life after liver transplantation.

Opis:
Physical Activity Education (PAE) has always been playing an important role in the history of Early Childhood Education (ECE) in Germany and its institutionalized form called “Kindergarten”. As a key feature of Kindergarten quality Physical Activity (PA) was originally considered to be either a compensation for children’s health dangers along with the neglect by their hard working mothers or a mere medium for other developmental fields such as cognition or social behavior. The subjectively observed outcome for the pedagogues was far from empirically objective evidence. Till the 1970s neither the technical term “quality” nor any empirical quality standards existed in German ECE to assess the effect of PA in Kindergarten. This fairly hasn’t changed yet although some general findings of high quality effects can be reported as well as PA specific results from a recent review on systematic PAE programmes. Despite this fact, Germany’s organized sports associations (OSA) installed 1759 Physical Activity Kindergarten (PAK) with great expectations in their overall positive developmental effect. For quality assurance some criteria were developed to achieve a minimum standard level. Subsequently a very popular license originated without having evidence for its positive outcome. A randomized, controlled longitudinal study is still to come.

The main aim of the article is an attempt to determine the importance of a targeted form of physical activity, i.e. Pilates, on psychomotor functions in women who practice this method. It seems important to search for appropriate, socially recognized values which promote health and are conducive to a health-oriented lifestyle, especially among women in middle adulthood. The study was based on a natural experiment involving 40 middle-aged women who participated in Pilates classes from the beginning of October 2013 to the end of September 2014. The one-year Pilates programme was found to have a significant impact on improving the participants’ health awareness. The study indicates an improvement in elements of physical fitness, especially in the first (known as enthusiastic) stage of participation (from October 2013 to April 2014). Over the course of the year, significant differences were found in the measurements of all the selected elements of physical fitness. The greatest progress was recorded in body flexibility. It can be concluded that targeted exercises improve physical fitness, particularly body flexibility, contribute to reducing low back pain, thereby improving the quality of life.

Opis:
Introduction: The paper presents the results of the interaction analysis between physical activity (PA), joy of movement (PACES) and areas of quality of life (SQUALA) of high school students with different levels of sport performance and different ages. These factors have wider background. Phenomenon of the subjective assessment “PACES” is stepping to the foreground. “PACES” proves high frequency of interactions with the areas of SQUALA, more than a single volume of PA. Despite of enough PA in week and high level of PACES, no expected interactions with areas of SQUALA in high school students were demonstrated. The low number of positive interactions points to the necessity of monitoring this construct, also in the relation to gender, to different sports level, type of school, region, country and age. Material and Methods: The survey was attended by 16-19 years old (n = 1302) high school students. The quality of life was examined through SQUALA questionnaire, enjoyment of physical activities by the PACES questionnaire and the level of physical activity in hours per week (PAQ) and by sport level. The data are presented by the descriptive characteristics and statistical significance of the differences, respectively the interactions were evaluated by nonparametric methods. Results: The interactions between PA, PACES and SQUALA in high school students with different sports level with different ages have been proven very sporadically. Positive correlations of PA with areas of SQUALA prevails in 18 and 19 years old students. The joy of movement correlates with spiritual well-being in groups of students who carry out the physical activities occasionally and regularly. Positive interactions of joy of movement with physical well-being have not been proven. Negative interactions between the PA, PACES and SQUALA prevails between 16 and 17 years old students. Conclusion: The higher age factor and factor of the regular movement in high school students appears to be very important in this study. The results reaffirm the importance of voluntary and organized physical activities which have potential to raise the level of the joy from the movement in life of high school students.

Opis:
Gatal Lake is located in the Kotawaringin Lama District, West Kotawaringin Regency, Central Kalimantan, Indonesia. The government and the surrounding communities use Gatal Lake for recreation, irrigation, livestock, and fisheries. Geographically, Gatal Lake, is close to oil palm plantations and palm oil processing factories that contributed to water pollution, especially the pollutants originating from plantation activities in the form of largescale use of fertilizers and pesticides. This study aimed to determine the status of the water quality of Gatal Lake, Kotawaringin Lama based on the physicochemical parameters. The samples from five stations were analyzed based on the following parameters: temperature, TDS, TSS, pH, BOD, COD, DO, nitrate, nitrite, phosphate, Pb, Cd, H2S, oil and grease, detergent, and phenol. The study was conducted using a purposive sampling method and determining the status of water quality based on Government Regulation No. 82/2001. The results of the physicochemical analysis of Gatal Lake showed that the water quality parameters which exceeded the water quality standards, are BOD (6.94 to 8.65 mg L), COD (9.58 to 15.7 mg/L), and DO (4.20 to 5.10 mg/L), while the parameters that did not exceed the water quality standards for Class I, II, III, and IV are temperature, TDS, TSS, pH, nitrate, nitrite, phosphate, Pb, Cd, H2S, oils and fats, detergents and phenols. On the basis of the STORET method, the water quality of Gatal Lake for Class I, II, and III are included in the highly polluted category, and for Class IV is in the moderate category.

Background: Physical activity (PA) has a positive effect on human health at all ages and it is especially important in older people. When insufficient, it may lead to the deterioration of a person’s health status. Aim of the study: The aim of the study was to assess the declared PA of the Universities of the Third Age (U3A) students and to examine the relationship between the level of PA, physical performance, and quality of life in this population. Material and methods: The study included 99 subjects, aged ≥60 years, with a Mini Mental State Examination score ≥24. Participants were examined using the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ), the Short Form Health Survey (SF-36) questionnaire, the Short Physical Performance Battery (SPPB), the Activities of Daily Living scale (ADL), the Lawton Instrumental Activities of Daily Living scale (IADL), and the short form of the geriatric depression scale (GDS). Handgrip strength (HS) was measured using the baseline hydraulic dynamometer. Results: Statistically significant differences in the results of women and men were demonstrated in 5 variables: the level of PA measured with the IPAQ, physical component summary of the SF-36 questionnaire, the total SPPB score, HS of the dominant hand and the non-dominant hand. In all examinations, men obtained higher scores than women. Positive correlations between PA and the result of the ADL, IADL, SPPB, HS and physical component summary of the SF-36 questionnaire were shown. Conclusions: The study confirmed that the participants of the U3A classes mostly meet the recommendations regarding minimum PA and they willingly undertake regular PA. It translates into high functional and physical fitness, stronger muscles and a good QoL.

Objectives: The aim of our study was to investigate a relationship between weekly physical activity and quality of life in elderly women. Methods: Participants were 22 elderly women ≥ 60 years (mean age 66 . 27 ± 4 . 99) with weight ≥ 50kg (mean weight 74.84 ± 14. 87kg) from Nitra. In this pilot study we used 2 questionnaires. The assessment of quality of life (QoL) was conducted by Short - Form General H ealth Survey (SF - 36). To examine weekly physical activity we selected International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ). Both questionnaires were evaluated separately by standardized scoring manual for SF - 36 and IPAQ. To examine a relationship between r esults of SF - 36 and IPAQ we used non - parametric Spearman's correlation coefficient (r s ). Results: The results from IPAQ show significant relationship between quantity and quality of weekly physical activity and age (r s = - 0. 562). More significant relations hips were found in results from SF - 36. The results showed significant relationship between domain of Vitality (r s = - 0. 508), Social Functioning (r s = - 0. 634), Mental Health (r s = - 0. 537), Mental Health Summary (r s = - 0. 549) and age. There was also signific ant relationship between domain of Vitality (r s = - 0. 598), Mental Health (r s = - 0. 505), Mental Health Summary (r s = - 0. 505) and weight. In this study, the results did not show relationship between weekly physical activity and domains from SF - 36. Conclusion s: According to the results from both questionnaires we follow the age - related decline of weekly physical activity, vitality and mental health. In our study, questionnaires IPAQ and SF - 36 did not show relationship between each other. For the further invest igation we intend to use different questionnaires for elderly people or we could measure the physical activity with pedometer or other new devices which are now available on the market.
