    The results of the analysis of various measures of calm of movement in cities and settlements are presented in the article. The alternative measures of physical and psychological effects on the traffic participants are considered. Particular attention is paid to the application of speed humps. They are installed on the streets of cities and settlements widely. The statistics of road traffic accidents at sites with humps in Minsk are considered. Various aspects of the effect of speed humps on accident rate have been established. And experimental studies of the instantaneous speeds of road vehicles in the installation area of speed humps have been performed. New modifications of speed humps are proposed, the design of which was developed on the basis of research of interactions with the car. Also the study investigated the effect of hump on the accident rate, delays in transportation, changes of speed and flow density. In addition, specific proposals have been developed. They are included in the technical normative legal acts in our country partially. That proposals allows to increase the overall quality of traffic (minimize the total economic, environmental and emergency losses from installation of speed humps). For example, alternative variants of design decisions on improvement of quality traffic safety are considered. In addition, the article considers other measures of forced speed control on streets network of cities and settlements in the country.

    konkluzji, że skuteczność dzieła głoszenia Słowa Bożego wymaga zwrócenia szczególnej uwagi na ochronę dzieci i młodzieży przed nadużyciami seksualnymi ze strony duchownych i innych osób podejmujących pracę wychowawczą w strukturach kościelnych. Odpowiedzią na przypadki przestępstw seksualnych jest tworzenie programów prewencyjnych mających na celu zapewnienie bezpieczeństwa osobom małoletnim. Zadania tego podjęła się zarówno Konferencja Episkopatu Polski, jak i polskie kościelne osoby prawne w postaci diecezji oraz instytutów życia konsekrowanego i stowarzyszeń życia apostolskiego. W ich ramach, w ostatnich pięciu latach, powstały instrukcje mające na celu wdrożenie zasad prewencji. Są one jednak nieliczne i wydaje się, że Kościół w Polsce jest dopiero na początku drogi sytuującej ochronę dzieci i młodzieży w centrum posługi duszpasterskiej.
    Scandals that recently shocked the community of the Catholic Church lead to the conclusion that the effectiveness of the work of proclaiming the Word of God requires special attention to the protection of children and youth against sexual abuse by the clergy and other people undertaking educational work in church structures. The response to this necessity is the creation of prevention programs aimed at ensuring the safety of minors. This task was undertaken both by the Episcopal Conference of Poland as well as church legal persons in the form of dioceses and institutes of consecrated life and society of apostolic life. Within their framework, in the last five years, instructions were created to implement the prevention principles. However, they are few and it seems that the Church in Poland is only at the beginning of the way that places protection of children and youth in the center of pastoral ministry.

    Od ponad 2 dekad na świecie prowadzone są intensywne badania na temat różnych aspektów funkcjonowania pracowników zatrudnionych na umowach terminowych. Mimo że w Polsce występuje najwyższy w Europie odsetek takich pracowników, badania na temat tej grupy osób są w naszym kraju rzadkością. Celem artykułu był przegląd światowych badań dotyczących związku między rodzajem umowy o pracę a zdrowiem i funkcjonowaniem zawodowym pracowników. Podstawowym wnioskiem z przeglądu jest duża rozbieżność wyników dotyczących wyżej wymienionych zagadnień. Uważa się, że powodem tej rozbieżności może być heterogeniczność grupy „pracownicy tymczasowi”, różnice kulturowe i pokoleniowe, a także kontekst ekonomiczny, w którym prowadzone były badania. Jednym z podstawowych wskazań dla przyszłych badań jest zastosowanie kryterium zgodności rodzaju zatrudnienia (umowy o pracę) z osobistymi preferencjami pracownika, a także stosowanie bardziej skomplikowanych schematów badawczych.     From over 2 decades intensive research concerning temporary workers has been carried out in Europe and outside Europe. Despite having the highest rate of temporary workers in Europe, the studies on this topic are very rare in Poland. The aim of the study was to review the existing research on the relations between temporary work and employees’ health and occupational functioning. The main conclusion from this review is that there is a significant inconsistency between the results of the studies included in this review due to such factors as heterogeneity of the group “temporary workers,” cultural and generational differences between temporary workers, as well as different economic context in which those studies had been carried out. The main recommendations for the future research is thus to take into account the personal preferences for performing temporary work and to use more complex study design. Med Pr 2015;66(4):565–573

    Research background: Despite the dynamically growing cross-sectional academic studies conducted on various aspects related to physical and mental workloads in the context of workplace safety, there is still room for further in-depth analyses of how these workloads affect employees' behavior and well-being. This phenomenon is of particular interest in the case of hospitality, where hotels should recognize the workloads imposed on their employees, since they are considered the most critical and influential stressors in the workplace. Purpose of the article: Based on the conservation of resources (COR) theory, our study aims to examine how hotel employees' physical and mental workloads affect their well-being and safe behaviors. The study also investigates how employee well-being and psychological resilience play a role in these patterns. Methods: The study employs an experience-sampling methodology to assess the physical and mental workloads of a group of full-time employees working in luxury hotels in the USA. Findings & value added: The findings derived from Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) reveal that both physical and mental workloads negatively impact overall well-being and safe behaviors. Additionally, physical workload influences mental workload. Also, employee well-being has been identified as a mediating factor in the relationship between workloads, psychological resilience, and safe behaviors. Notably, psychological resilience has not exhibited a moderating effect. This study expands on the COR theory by examining its impact on the hospitality industry. The study has developed and validated a model for assessing hotel employees' physical workload. Moreover, it emphasizes the significance of employees' well-being and psychological resilience in promoting safe behaviors in hotels. Therefore, this model is a significant step forward toward effectively measuring and maintaining the overall well-being and safe behaviors of employees in the hospitality industry. Furthermore, the value of the research is enhanced by surveying hotel employees directly rather than relying on subjective opinions from management about employee involvement in workplace health and safety. This approach avoids the bias often present in management assessments and provides a more accurate depiction of employee participation.

    Over the last years, the Supreme Audit Office has conducted several audits related to selected elements of schools’ activities in similar areas. These audits confirmed, among others, the ineffectiveness of school pathologies prevention, emerging new dangers (e.g. cyberbullying), and insufficient support for talented students. NIK also negatively assessed the way in which the Minister of National Education performed the tasks set out in the National Programme for Mental Health Protection. The audit showed that in the years 2011-2015 the Minister realised only two out of nine tasks related to mental health promotion and mental disorders prevention that the Ministry was obliged to fulfil. As a result, NIK carried out a comprehensive follow up audit aimed both at examining the scope of psychological assistance provided to pupils, and at presenting the way in which the functioning of schools has an impact on their mental health.

Wiedza ta powinna być poszerzana świadomie w oparciu o odpowiednią literaturę pedagogiczną oraz psychologiczną.
    The biggest impact on the proper development of the child’s personality is actually extending the educational process observed in the most conducive educational environment that is family, where the children, surrounded by a personal service, are able to satisfy all their needs. Parents play the key role in the upbringing of the children, so they are responsible for their proper development. For this reason, having a thorough knowledge of psychological and physical needs of the child allows them to support, in a better way, comprehensive development of the child. This knowledge should be extended consciously basing on an appropriate pedagogical and psychological literature.

Przy tej okazji zwrócono także uwagę na fazy przemocy, osobowość sprawcy i czynniki wywołujące przemoc. Wskazano również na formy pomocy kobietom.
    The violence against women is a vital social problem. It concerns various environments and, unfortunately, is in many cases hidden from the environment. That is one, it is crucial to speak about it. The violence brings painful results both in the physical and psychological spheres of the victim life. These people should be taken care of, however, the knowledge concerning this issue should be enlarged. The article shows the reasons, types and results of violence against women. Moreover, the phases of violence, the personality of the offender and the factors causing violence are discussed. Various forms of help for women are also presented.
