Opis:
With the rapid development of photovoltaic power generation technology, photovoltaic power generation system has gradually become an important component of the integrated energy system of marine. High precision short-term photovoltaic power generation forecasting is becoming one of the key technologies in ship energy saving and ship energy efficiency improving. Aiming at the characteristics of marine photovoltaic power generation system, we designed a highprecision power forecasting model (WT+ESN) for marine photovoltaic power generation system with anti-marine environmental interference. In this model, the information mining of the photovoltaic system in marine environment is carried out based on wavelet theory, then the forecasting model basing on echo state network is construct ed. Lastly, three kinds of error metrics are compared with the three traditional models by Matlab, the result shows that the model has high forecasting accuracy and strong robustness to marine environmental factors, which is of great significance to save fuel for ships, improve the energy utilization rate and assist the power dispatching and fuel dispatching of the marine power generation system.

The article gives results of the development of the system of monitoring for photovoltaic power installations with different configuration to study the factors, increasing their productivity. Differentiation of impact, made by the components of different structure of photovoltaic power installations is made by application of three independent controlled channels of energy extraction from photovoltaic panels: fixed focused, with application of solar tracker and with application of solar tracker, having flat mirror concentrators. To secure originality of the record of the electric energy, produced by photovoltaic panels, we have developed unit of control for discharging current of battery banks in each channel. It supports equal level of their charge. Amount of the produced electric energy in each channel is estimated by the value of discharge. Control and measuring system is made on the base of virtual devices with hardware unit of input/output of NI USB-6009 type, produced by National Instruments Company, with software LabVIEW. In the research, software code of the system of monitoring and front panel of operator have been developed. The work provides photos of the developed experimental stand.

Opis:
Renewable energy sources especially solar energy connected to an electrical grid system by using power electronic devices, known that devices degrade the power quality and especially generate harmonic currents. This article presents the study investigation and propagation of harmonics in the integration system of an electric grid connected to the photovoltaic system in the presence or not of a non-linear load (polluting load). In this study, the perturb and observe type MPPT controller for the boost converter and the PWM control for the three-phase inverter which provides the connection are used. We use a passive filtering technique (single and multiple filters) to mitigate the harmonic currents generated by the non-linear load. In the first case where the integration system is alone, the results obtained show that the values of the total harmonic distortion (THD) rates are within the standard used. But in the case of the presence of the non-linear load, the THD values are higher than the used norm. After using our proposed technique, the values of THD obtained are in the norm used for the application of a tuned filter at the fifth harmonic, and better results find with using of multiple filters (fifth and seventh).

Opis:
Every solar panel has a maximum operating power. However, when solar panels are directly connected to a battery, the panels are usually forced to operate at the battery voltage. This is almost always below the maximum power point of the panels, thereby causing panel under-utilization. To overcome this problem, maximum power point trackers (MPPT) have been developed. In this thesis, a technical comparative analysis is done between two commonly implemented MPPT (Perturb & Observe and Incremental Conductance) algorithms to ensure efficient maximum power point tracking. This is done by modelling a maximum power point tracker (MPPT) and integrating it into a PV system in the MATLAB/SIMULINK environment. These two direct MPPT algorithms are then implemented under changing solar irradiation and load conditions. From the simulations, when starting from 0 second, the P&O algorithm reaches the Pmpp of 1969 W at 26ms, while INC reaches the Pmpp of 1965 W at 49ms. In addition, when there is a change in the AC loads connected to the PV system, it took exactly 35ms for both algorithms to reach the Pmpp of 2488 W. However, when both algorithms reached their Pmpp values, INC shows more stability than the P&O. The P&O shows ripples even at steady irradiance states, although the ripples are more evident when the irradiance is changing. From the results displayed, it can, therefore, be concluded that the P&O algorithm will be more suited to applications where attaining the Pmpp within a relatively short time is a necessity, while INC should be applied where performance is of great importance.

Opis:
Fast and accurate grid signal frequency estimation is a very important issue in the control of renewable energy systems. Important factors that influence the estimation accuracy include the A/D converter parameters in the inverter control system. This paper presents the influence of the number of A/D converter bits b, the phase shift of the grid signal relative to the time window, the width of the time window relative to the grid signal period (expressed as a cycle in range (CiR) parameter) and the number of N samples obtained in this window with the A/D converter on the developed estimation method results. An increase in the number b by 8 decreases the estimation error by approximately 256 times. The largest estimation error occurs when the signal module maximum is in the time window center (for small values of CiR) or when the signal value is zero in the time window center (for large values of CiR). In practical applications, the dominant component of the frequency estimation error is the error caused by the quantization noise, and its range is from approximately 8×10-10 to 6×10-4.

The solar photovoltaic output power fluctuates according to solar irradiation, temperature, and load impedance variations. Due to the operating point fluctuations, extracting maximum power from the PV generator, already having a low power conversion ratio, becomes very complicated. To reach a maximum power operating point, a maximum power point tracking technique (MPPT) should be used. Under partial shading condition, the nonlinear PV output power curve contains multiple maximum power points with only one global maximum power point (GMPP). Consequently, identifying this global maximum power point is a difficult task and one of the biggest challenges of partially shaded PV systems. The conventional MPPT techniques can easily be trapped in a local maximum instead of detecting the global one. The artificial neural network techniques used to track the GMPP have a major drawback of using huge amount of data covering all operating points of PV system, including different uniform and non-uniform irradiance cases, different temperatures and load impedances. The biological intelligence techniques used to track GMPP, such as grey wolf algorithm and cuckoo search algorithm (CSA), have two main drawbacks; to be trapped in a local MPP if they have not been well tuned and the precision-transient tracking time complex paradox. To deal with these drawbacks, a Distributive Cuckoo Search Algorithm (DCSA) is developed, in this paper, as GMPP tracking technique. Simulation results of the system for different partial shading patterns demonstrated the high precision and rapidity, besides the good reliability of the proposed DCSA-GMPPT technique, compared to the conventional CSA-GMPPT.

Opis:
Photovoltaic (PV) cells are very costly because of the silicon element which is not cheaply available. Usually, PV cells are preferred to be used at maximum efficiency. Therefore, PV plants are emphasized to extract maximum power from PV cells. When inertia free PV plants are integrated into the grid in large numbers, the problem of maintaining system stability subjected to load perturbation is quite difficult. In response to this, a control topology is being an approach to make available the PV cells in maintaining system stability by utilizing the system frequency deviation as feedback to the controller. To implement this, the PVs are operated at Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT). This allows the PV to operate at Pseudo Maximum Power Point tracking (PMPPT) which makes it possible to run the PV with reserve power capacity without employing a battery for storage. The control strategy has been implemented over a two-stage power conversion model of the PV system. The simulation results showed that the proposed control PMPPT topology is effective in frequency regulation capability as compared to the MPPT technique.

Opis:
With increased interest in renewable energy sources, such as photovoltaic farms, a number of studies whose aim was the analysis of their positive and negative impact on the power system was carried out. From the point of view of the system operator, the suitable place of installation and the size of such plant in the network can have a positive impact on the value and direction of power flow, voltage levels, the value of the power loss, short- circuit currents and power factor. However, the biggest difficulty in the application of the farm is its unexpected production characteristic which depends mainly on the weather conditions changing randomly during the day. The most desirable case is a period when this farm is capable of being installed in depth of the network to reduce daily peak demand for electricity. The energy from big, centralized plants working in the system must be delivered to the customers at this time, which generates additional costs of starting units, working in short period of time and increases power losses on lines, which must send higher energy values. Accordingly, the sense of use of an external energy storage systems cooperating with photovoltaic installations is clear. For the grid operator, in the case of large PV farm desirable to be able to use the extra energy of the battery power and the ability to use the farm to reduce the afternoon and evening peaks. This may positively affect production costs and transmit additional energy to the system.

Opis:
One of the most critical systems of any satellite is the Electrical Power System (EPS) and without any available energy, the satellite would simply stop to function. Therefore, the presented research within this paper investigates the areas relating to the satellite EPS with the main focus towards the CubeSat platform. In this paper, an appropriate EPS architecture with the suitable control policy for CubeSat missions is proposed. The suggested control strategy combines two methods, the Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) and the Battery Charge Regulation (BCR), in one power converter circuit, in order to extract the maximum power of the Photovoltaic (PV) system and regulate the battery voltage from overcharging. This proposed combined control technique is using a Fuzzy Logic Control (FLC) strategy serving two main purposes, the MPPT and BCR. Without an additional battery charger circuit and without switching technique between the two controllers, there are no switching losses and the efficiency of the charging characteristic can be increased by selecting this proposed combined FLC. By testing a space-based PV model with the proposed EPS architecture, some simulation results are compared to demonstrate the superiority of the proposed control strategy over the conventional strategies such as Perturb and Observe (P&O) and FLC with a Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) controller.

Deterioration of voltage conditions is one of the frequent consequences of connecting an increasing number of photovoltaic sources to the low-voltage (LV) power grid. Under adverse conditions, i.e. low energy consumption and high insolation, microgeneration can cause voltage surges that violate acceptable limits. Research shows that the increase in voltage is the main limitation for connecting new energy microsources to the LV network and forces the reconstruction of the network. An alternative to costly modernizations can be the implementation of appropriate strategies for controlling network operation to maintain the voltage at the required level. The article presents an overview of the methods and concepts of voltage control in a low-voltage network developed so far to mitigate the undesirable phenomenon of voltage boosting. The focus was mainly on local methods - not requiring communication infrastructure - as best suited to the conditions of Polish distribution networks. Gathering the results of many tests and simulations carried out in different conditions and on different models allowed for the formulation of general conclusions and can be a starting point for further research on acontrol method that can be widely used in the national power system.

The dynamic development of renewable energy sources causes a significant drop in their prices and improve their energy efficiency. In addition, long-term military operations (including foreign missions) in the open carry a risk of loss of power to the military, so it is reasonable to use this type of alternative energy sources. These advantages make conventional power sources (eg .: generators) may in certain cases be replaced by alternative sources, as discussed in the work. This paper presents the perspective of application of solar cells in the Polish Armed Forces. They presented a prototype power source and their applications made at the Military Institute of Technical Engineering on the basis of cells produced in the country by the Institute of Metallurgy and Materials Science. It determined the possibility and application of this type of power source in the military. They developed the concept of new models of solar systems for the Armed Forces and determined prospects for the coming years. It then discusses the results of the project development made so far by presenting demonstrators technology.

The present paper takes up the subject of natural disasters (floods, hurricanes, etc.), and the power of objects with difficult access, including military facilities and equipment. Operating conditions cause that the classical sources are increasingly being replaced by systems based on renewable sources, including the most solar.
