Opis:
The paper presents some application of barium titanate synthesized by different methods. Barium titanate samples were prepared by four procedures: solid state, mechanochemical as direct synthesis and modification as well as hydrothermal and microwave. The obtained samples were systematically studied using X-ray diffraction, nitrogen adsorption, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), potentiometric titration, and quasi-elastic light scattering and zeta potential measurements. The values of pHpzc (point of zero charge) and pHIEP (isoelectric point) characteristic of the electrical double layer were determined. The prepared samples were tested as photocatalysts under visible light. As a result, relationship between the conditions of barium titanate synthesis, its physicochemical and electrokinetic parameters, as well as photocatalytic activity under visible light was first established.

Opis:
TiO2 nanomaterial was prepared by precipitation method and sonication technique. The nanomaterial was characterized by HR-SEM with EDX, TEM, XRD, FT-IR and PL analysis. The photocatalytic activity of TiO2 was much better than that of TiO2–P25 under UV-light irradiation at 365 nm. The photocatalytic activity was evaluated from the photodegradation of malachite green (MAG). The influence of operational parameters such as the effect of catalyst loading dye concentration and chemical oxygen demand measurements had also been investigated. The Photodegradation was found to follow the pseudo-first-order kinetics. Hydroxyl radical formation in the mechanism was confirmed by fluorescence quenching technique. It was proposed that the catalyst is found to be stable and reusable.

Titanium dioxide nanoparticles
Opis:
The present study reports on the development of an Eco-friendly, nontoxic, inexpensive and low cost effective method for green synthesis of titanium dioxide nanoparticles, using Glycosmis cochinchinensis leaf extract. X-Ray diffraction (XRD), Ultraviolet spectral studies (UV-Vis), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, Scanning electron microscopy and Energy dispersive spectrometry (SEM–EDS) and Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) were used to characterize the TiO2 nanoparticles, while the application of TiO2 nanoparticles was assessed and antimicrobial activity was evaluated photocatalytically. XRD studies indicated that the titanium dioxide nanoparticles were crystalline in nature and in the anatase phase. According to our derived data, TiO2 nanoparticles exhibited maximum absorbance peak at 430 nm in UV-Vis spectroscopy and the band gap energy was to be found to be 3.02 eV. FTIR spectral studies confirm that flavonoids and proteins are the stabilizing agents of the TiO2 nanoparticles. The SEM and TEM images indicate that the morphology of the product is spherical nanoparticles with an average particle size of 40 ±5 nm with standard deviation. The antibacterial activity of the TiO2 nanoparticles was tested against gram positive bacteria (S. saprophyticus and B. subtilis) and gram negative bacteria (E. coli and P. aeruginosa). Accordingly, maximum zone of inhibition was observed against gram negative bacteria. The antifungal activity of the TiO2 nanoparticles was then tested against Aspergillus niger and Trichoderma reesei. Herein, maximum zone of inhibition was found to be 60 mm against T.reesi. Hence, Glycosmis cochinchinensis leaf extract green synthesized TiO2 nanoparticles can be considered to be an effective antimicrobial agent.

Photocatalytic hydrogen production
Opis:
AgInS2 Quantum dots (AIS QDs) have high quantum yield and catalytic performance, which is promising materials in photo-catalytic and optoelectronic fields. In the paper, it adopted a simple and non-toxic method to synthesize AIS QDs. The effect of reaction temperature on the growth mechanism, optical and physical properties of AIS had been extensively investigated by using L-cysteine as the sulfur source, and their application in catalytic hydrogen production was also studied. The results demonstrated that the fluorescence properties will be quenched with the increase of temperature, indicating that the separation speed of electron hole pairs of samples obtained at higher temperature was faster. Meantime, the electron transport capacity and the photocurrent had also improved with the increase of reaction temperature. Finally, the sample obtained at 100 oC had higher hydrogen production rate.
