    Some Belarusian philosophical-allegoric novel renewal periods have been studied closely with the emphases on the historic, social and cultural heritage of different epochs. In the article, the decisive role of the Enlightenment French philosophical prose is noted in the development of the modern Belarusian philosophical-allegoric novel. The Enlightenment French philosophical-allegoric text is a model of reality, simple for understanding, with a fascinating adventure story, but with an obscure moral and philosophical attitude and didacticism. The 18th century philosophical-allegoric prose is distinguished by the parable form of narrative, which is characterized by moral and philosophical problems, global questions about the life and destiny of people, marked by didacticism, by a high degree of generalization, and the obligatory projection of the idea on the reader views. The article proves the influence of Montesquieu, Voltaire, and Diderot’ philosophical works on the development of the modern philosophical-allegoric novel in Belarusian literature. The article analyzes the poetics of Belarusian contemporary works of this genre taking into account the French traditions of the Enlightenment.

    Thomas Manns Roman Der Zauberberg wird in den letzten zwanzig Jahren von zwei polaren Deutungen bestimmt: von der Deutung als Bildungsroman und von der als philosophischem Roman, der der pessimistischen Lebensstimmung Schopenhauers unterworfen sei. Ziel dieses Beitrages ist, die Entwicklungsstufen der wissenschaftlichen Diskussion über den Zauberberg und insbesondere über das Kapitel „Schnee“ zu zeigen, das, vielfach diskutiert, in der Forschung als Schlüssel zum Romanverständnis gesehen wird. Ausgehend von den unterschiedlichen und oft widersprüchlichen Deutungen des Traumes in diesem Kapitel, setzt sich die Autorin des Artikels zum Ziel, das „Schnee-Kapitel“ zur freudschen Traumdeutung in Bezug zu setzen. Dadurch wird versucht, hinter den manifesten Trauminhalten die latenten zu entdecken. Wenn Träume als ‚erfüllter Wunsch‘ aufzufassen sind, so wäre danach zu fragen, was Castorp eigentlich träumt bzw. was die Traumbilder versinnbildlichen und ob sich in Castorp durch den Traum eine Entwicklung zum Humanitätsgedanken hin, ein – so Thomas Mann – „Erziehungsprogramm“ vollzieht.
    W ostatnich dwudziestu latach Czarodziejską górę Tomasza Manna zdominowały dwa sprzeczne kierunki interpretacji. Z jednej strony uznaje się, że powieść ta jest powieścią edukacyjną, z drugiej odczytuje się ją jako powieść filozoficzną o głębokich wpływach schopenhauerowskiej pesymistycznej wizji życia. Celem artykułu jest pokazanie sprzecznych poglądów naukowych na temat powieści, a w szczególności rozdziału „Śnieg“, który przez badaczy dzieła słusznie postrzegany jest jako kluczowy. Wychodząc od różnych i często sprzecznych sposobów odczytywania wizji Castorpa, autorka artykułu stawia sobie za cel zbadanie snu z rozdziału „Śnieg“ przy użyciu freudowskiego instrumentarium. Jeśli sny mamy rozumieć, jak chciał tego Freud, jako ,spełnione marzenia‘, to narzuca się pytanie, co w takim razie znaczy sen Castorpa, co uosabiają jego wizje, i czy Castorp rzeczywiście zbliża się poprzez swój sen do myśli humanistycznej i przechodzi – jak to wyraził sam Tomasz Mann – przez „program wychowawczy“.  
    During the last twenty years Thomas Mann’s The Magic Mountain has been dominated by two contradictory lines of interpretation. On the one hand, it is acknowledged that this tale is a development novel, and on the other, it is interpreted as a philosophical novel, deeply influenced by Schopenhauer’s pessimistic vision of life. The aim of this article is to demonstrate the conflicting specialist views on the subject of the story, and in particular the „Snow“ chapter which is rightly perceived by researchers of the work as the key one. Starting from various and frequently contradictory ways of interpreting Castorp’s vision, the author of the article sets herself the aim of examining the dream from the „Snow“ chapter using Freudian Dream Analysis. If we are to understand dreams as ,fulfilled wishes‘, as Freud intended, then there raises the question of what Castorp’s dream means in this case, what his visions personify and whether Castorp really gets closer to humanist thought through his dream and goes, as Thomas Mann himself put it, through an „education programme“.

    Der Grundimpetus der Musil’schen Tagebücher kann im Aufbrechen von Erfahrung verortet werden. Die dort durchgeführten Wahrnehmungsexperimente bilden Versuchsanordnungen nach, wie sie sich auch in seinen essayistischen Texten finden. Als Schlüsseltext kann neben dem Mann ohne Eigenschaften der Essay Triëdere aus dem Nachlaß zu Lebzeiten gelten. Konventionelle Wahrnehmung wird durch das Verfahren der Isolation und Reduktion sowie durch ungewöhnliche Perspektivierung verzerrt, wodurch Plötzlichkeitsmomente ermöglicht werden, die tiefere Einsichten in die Wirklichkeit eröffnen und eine Distanz zum Menschlichen schaffen, in dem es als Mögliches neu erfasst werden kann. Musils Wahrnehmungsexperimente oszillieren zwischen epiphanischen Augenblickserlebnissen und Selbstreflexivität.
    Główną strategią dzienników jest zawieszenie zwyczajnego postrzegania rzeczywistości. Zarówno w esejach – za kluczowy tekst uznać można Triëdere z tomu Spuścizna wydana za życia – jak i w dziennikach Musil poprzez izolowanie postrzeganych przedmiotów oraz zawężenie pola widzenia lub nieoczekiwane i wypaczające zmiany perspektywy uchyla zasłonę konwencjonalnego postrzegania i otwiera wgląd w głębsze warstwy rzeczywistości. Eksperymenty z postrzeganiem oscylują między epifanicznością wykreowanych chwil a ich autorefleksyjnością. Akt postrzegania jawi się jako rysa i staje się przedmiotem namysłu.
    Destruction of habitual experience can be considered as the main objective of Robert Musil’s diaries. The diaries contain experiments of perception, which in their structure correspond to the writer’s essays. As a key text – aside from The Man without Qualities – can be regarded the essay Triëdere, which was published in Legacy during Lifetime. By means of isolation of rudiments of reality, reducing the field of perception and choosing unusual angles of observation the diarist differentiates the manners of perception and makes conceivable other than conventional approaches to reality. As a result, the diaries enclose distinctive moments of ‚suddenness‘ which let perceive abyssal depths of reality. The experiments of perception in Musil’s diaries oscillate between epiphanies and essayistic auto reflection.

    Viktar Martsinovich’s novels reveal the aesthetic searches conducted in modern Belarusian literature. In the work “Sphagnum” the classical form of the social novel is originally reproduced, where various representatives of the society are convincingly shown in colorful images-types. The novels “Lake of Joy” and “Revolution” reveal first of all the psychological reflection of main characters, who act as symbolic incarnations of the spiritual aspirations of our time. Novels with assessments of psychological anti-utopia “Language” and “Night” represent the author’s prediction of the loss of national identity and spiritual literary tradition.

Choć badania nad zagadnieniem cykliczności interesowały już formalistów rosyjskich, tematyka ta spotkała się z zainteresowaniem w naszym kraju dopiero w latach dziewięćdziesiątych ubiegłego wieku, głównie za sprawą badaczy z Wydziału Filologicznego Uniwersytetu w Białymstoku. Tekst podejmuje próbę usystematyzowania pojęcia cykliczności w odniesieniu do prozy na podstawie prac Krystyny Jakowskiej, Bogumiły Kaniewskiej, Jana Trzynadlowskiego i Rolfa Fiegutha.
    This entry attempts to demonstrate the linkages and distinctions that emerge between descriptions of the literary cycle, the novel sequence, and the poetic cycle in the context of the prose cycle, as well as to summarize the current state of research on these issues in Poland. Although research into the matter of cyclicality had already drawn the interest of Russian Formalists, this theme sparked interest in our own country as late as the 1990s, mainly at the initiative of scholars from the University of Białystok’s Faculty of Philology. This text attempts to systematize concepts of cyclicality in the prose context with the help of scholarship by Krystyna Jakowska, Bogumiła Kaniewska, Jan Trzynadlowski and Rolf Fieguth.
