The objectives of this work were concentrated to investigate the enhancement of petrol distillate production from crude oil after treating with two additives. Attempts were also made to find out the mechanisms, those are responsible for enhancing the quantity and quality of petrol from crude oil by straight run refining process. From this study, it has been illustrated that the yield of petrol was directly proportional to the lubricating oil and inversely proportional to the bitumen asphalt content in the hydrocarbon mixture influenced by both physical and chemical reasons. The yield of petrol was increased ca. 4% (w/w) when 0.25% (w/w) additive-1 was used for blending before distillation. The physical properties of distillate petrol product were studied as well as the chemical quality was determined by TGA, 1H- NMR and GC-MS photometer.

W artykule opisano skonstruowany w Instytucie Elektroniki i Telekomunikacji Politechniki Poznańskiej przetwornik pojemności na napięcie stałe [6], oparty na scalonym przetworniku częstotliwości na napięcie stałe. Przetwornik został praktycznie wykorzystany jako układ do pomiaru poziomu cieczy w zbiorniku paliwa. Obecnie w Polsce jest ok. 2500 samochodów ciężarowych, wykorzystujących przetwornik opracowany przez autora. Część mechaniczna urządzenia do pomiaru poziomu cieczy nie będzie zawarta w artykule - z powodu zgłoszenia rozwiązania technicznego do Urzędu Patentowego.
The article describes a capacity converter for direct voltage based on integrated capacity converter for direct voltage, which was developed in the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunications at Poznan University of Technology. The converter is used as a system for measuring the level of liquid in petrol tanks. Nowadays in Poland there are about 2500 tracks using the converter invented by the author. The mechanical part of the device for measuring the level of liquid will not be included in the article - as it is submitted to the Patent Office.

The Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) is currently the only widespread and available alternative fuel used in Poland for motor vehicles equipped with spark-ignition engines. Until the end of the 1980s, the monopoly on the fuel market had belonged to petrol and diesel oils. In the 1990s this monopoly was broken by LPG. The important impulse causing increase of concern with using alternative driving fuels by drivers has always been economy issues. The Liquified Petroleum Gas has been presented as an eco-friendly fuel, and with an attractive price it has also gained the title of an economical one. Over the last three decades, The Liquified Petroleum Gas has become an important player in the fuel market. The article presents current trends observed in the fuel market (LPG fuel and gasoline U95) used to power motor vehicles equipped with spark ignition engines, and analysis of the price volatility of these fuels in the period 2005÷2016.

The exploration and utilization of petroleum are potential hazards to the environment. Successful determination of petroleum contamination in ground relies on accurate definition of the type, source and quantity of contaminant. For this purpose the Rock-Eval® pyrolysis was applied, which is a rapid quantitative (Bulk Rock method) and qualitative (fractional composition using Multi-Heating Rates method) technique. Results of Rock-Eval analysis of 13 samples of concrete and 2 samples of gravel taken from the different sites of the petrol station indicate the highest concentration of light hydrocarbons (gasoline and naphtha fractions), up to over 5% wt. in the direct proximity of petrol pumps. Similarly high contamination (almost 4%wt.), was found near fuel tanks. Here the highest contribution has lubricating oil fraction and the tankers providing fuels are probably the source of this pollution. In the gravel collected in the vicinity of the fuel tanks high concentration (over 5 wt.%) of non-pyrolyzable carbon (soot) was recorded, the source of which are probably diesel engines of fuel tankers supplying fuel.

In post-war Poland, rationing was introduced on three occasions: right after the war in 1945, then in 1951, and at the turn of the 1980s. In 1976, rationing cards for sugar were introduced, in 1981 - for meat, fats, cereal products, cleaning products and many other goods. Fuels were the last product added to this list. This article describes the process of introducing a rationing system for petrol in the Polish People’s Republic. Though the supply system crashed as early as 1981, it took several years to organize a rationing system for petrol. Its evolution did not end until 1984. This delay was caused by the long discussions on how the system should be built. This forced the authorities to introduce a whole range of temporary solutions which limited the demand in the short run, but had no soothing effect whatsoever on the society. To the contrary - the chaos they created intensified negative tendencies (such as speculation), led to market insecurity, and increased mistrust of state regulations.

Opis:
The effect of soil contamination with diesel oil and petrol on the nitrification process was investigated in a laboratory experiment. Samples of typical brown soil developed from loamy sand, of pH of 6.6 in 1M KCl, Hh -11.38 mmol+ kg-1 soil, S — 77.67 mmol+ kg-1 soil and Corg - 8.50 g kg-1 were analyzed. The experiment was performed in three replications, and for each test 100 g air-dry soil sample was placed in 150 cm3 beakers. Soil samples were contaminated with diesel oil and petrol with the addition of rapeseed oil and ethanol. The source of nitrogen was ammonium sulfate in the amount of 0 and 250 mg N per kg-1 soil. The content of N-NO3- and N-NH4+ was determined on experimental days 14, 28 and 42. Soil moisture was kept constant at 50% capillary water capacity throughout the experiment. Fertilizer nitrogen was subject to strong immobilization in soil contaminated with diesel oil and petrol. Both pollutants strongly inhibited the nitrification process. Diesel oil had a much stronger inhibitory effect on nitrification than petrol. Rapeseed oil also proved to be a powerful inhibiting factor. On experimental day 42, diesel oil reduced ammonium cation oxidation by 99%, and petrol - by 88%.
W doświadczeniu laboratoryjnym badano wpływ zanieczyszczenia gleby olejem napędowym i benzyną na przebieg procesu nitryfikacji. Do badań wykorzystano próbki gleby brunatnej właściwej wytworzonej z piasku gliniastego o pH w 1M KCl 6,6, Hh — 11,38 mmol+ kg-1 gleby, S — 77,67 mmol+ kg-1 gleby, Corg — 8,50 g kg-1. Badania wykonano w trzech powtórzeniach, umieszczając w zlewkach o pojemności 150 cm3 po 100 g powietrznie suchej gleby. Próbki glebowe zanieczyszczono olejem napędowym, benzyną i domieszką oleju rzepakowego i etanolu. Jako źródło azotu zastosowano siarczan amonu w ilości 0 i 250 mg N kg-1 gleby. Zawartość N-NO3- i N-NH4+ oznaczono w 14., 28. i 42. dniu założenia doświadczenia. Przez cały okres trwania badań utrzymywano stałą wilgotność gleby na poziomie 50% kapilarnej pojemności wodnej. Stwierdzono, że w glebie zanieczyszczonej olejem napędowym i benzyną zachodziła silna immobilizacja azotu nawozowego. Obydwa zanieczyszczenia silnie hamowały proces nitryfikacji. Zdecydowanie większe zakłócenia w przebiegu procesu nitryfikacji powodował olej napędowy niż benzyna. Również silnym inhibitorem nitryfikacji okazał się olej rzepakowy. W 42. dniu trwania doświadczenia olej napędowy zmniejszał utlenianie kationu amonowego o 99%, a benzyna o 88%.

Analiza zmian cen oleju napędowego (ON) oraz benzyny (Pb95) w powiązaniu z cenami ropy naftowej i przelicznika $/zł była wykonana w celu określenia wygodnego czasu zakupu paliwa w możliwie niskiej cenie. Opracowanie zawiera także składniki ceny paliwa na poziomie dostawcy Orlen. Podstawą opracowania są codzienne, dane za lata 2015-2016.
The analysis of changes in diesel oil (ON) and gasoline (Pb95) prices in connection with crude oil prices and the $/PLN converter was made to determine the convenient time to buy fuel at the lowest possible price. The study also includes components of the fuel price at the Orlen supplier level. The basis for the study are daily data for the years 2015-2016.

W pracy podjęto próbę usuwania eteru etylowo-t-butylowego (ETBE) z wodnych ekstraktów benzyn poprzez utlenianie nadtlenkiem wodoru w reakcji Fentona. Zdolność ETBE do rozkładu pod wpływem nadtlenku wodoru w temperaturze otoczenia stanowi potencjalną możliwość usuwania tego eteru z wody zanieczyszczonej benzyną, która zawiera ETBE jako komponent.
Ethyl-t-butyl ether (ETBE) is commonly used as a fuel component, which sometimes results in its introduction into the environment, especially to ground water. The aim of this research study is to investigate the activity of Fenton's reagent with the water extracts of the fuels containing ETBE. The ETBE removal was successfully accomplished at ambient temperature in the presence of more than 0,3 g of FeSO4 catalyst per 100 cm3 of the extract.

The fact that a lot of people in Poland travel by car creates a lot of different business opportunities for the retail sector. Petrol stations are among various entities that attempt to take advantage of this situation. The main purpose of this article is to identify and assess the behaviour of petrol station customers in Poland regarding their motivations for choosing particular facilities and their non-fuel purchases.The study is based on results of a CAWI survey of 603 customers. To make sure that sample was representative, its composition was controlled in terms of the following respondent variables: sex, age, size of the town of residence and province. Consumer behaviour can be affected by a number of factors but only some of them could be addressed in the study, which can be regarded as one of its biggest limitations. Nevertheless, the results provide an interesting insight on this topic. The main contributions of the study include the creation of a typology of petrol stations, identification and assessment of consumer motives for selecting a given facility and information about non-fuel purchases made by customers. The most frequent motives for selecting a given petrol station include convenient location, brand, and the price of petrol and other products. In addition to fuel, customers usually stop to buy coffee and fast food, alcoholic beverages and basic groceries. The authors discuss statistically significant differences between different types of petrol stations in the above mentioned respects. The results of the survey can be of interest to owners of petrol stations as guidance on how to adjust their marketing strategies, especially in terms of the composition of their offering.

A paper entitled Cooperation between Moskow and Minsk in the energy sector describes the most important problems of gas and petrol market at the European part of former USSR. It is an attempt to answer questions aroused by the situation at the post-soviet petrol market. Its analytical part is based on statistical data, analytical papers of the most important think-tanks in that matter, books and papers together with internet resources. All above mentioned contribute to an author`s proper arguments which are focused on abilities and limitations of petrol and gas sector of Russian Federation and Republic of Belarus. The paper provides an information about bilateral relations of these countries, describes Russian energy strategy towards pos-soviet area, especially towards the Belarus` role. It also describes Russian-Belarusian relations in broad international context and also Belarusian dilemmas while Minsk does refuse Russians to obtain strategic importance in the country`s energy sector on the one hand, but also must strictly cooperate with Moscow while Belarusian economy is unable to function without cheap petrol and gas supplies from Russia. An author focuses also on Yamal pipeline and the eventual threat from the Nord-Stream project and also describes the meaning of BTS1 and BTS2 installations which virtually are the pressure tools on Belarus. He characterizes the background of past and current energy conflicts in bilateral relations and indicates the role of petrol and gas as political tools at Russian disposal, towards Belarus. He also formulate prognosis, based on his past analyzes. According to an author Belarus must solve the problem of its own dependency on Moscow in the energy area. Without it she won`t be a clearly independent state. In the same time Russia is using all possible tools and strengths it monopoly on the Belarusian petrol market. This kind of policy is a step in Russian Federation`s policies aimed at regaining imperial role again in the post-soviet area.

Purpose: The principal aim of the article is to present changes in the accessibility of regional products understood as introducing them into trade formats in which they have not previously been present. The article will also present the characteristics of the petrol station sector in Poland. Design/methodology/approach: The article will present the results of own research in terms of perception and assessment of marketing innovations by station customers. The study was carried out using the CAWI internet interview technique on a nationwide, representative sample of adult Poles. Findings: The research shows that Poles are eager to buy regional products and look for them in places where they have never been available before (petrol stations). Practical implications: This article concerns the case study of PKN ORLEN petrol station network. It can be assumed that the remaining operators of the station networks will introduce regional products to the offer shortly as the regional goods are being chosen increasingly and desired by customers of petrol stations in Poland. Originality/value: The article deals with the problem of selling products at petrol stations, i.e. in a trade format that is not sufficiently described in the literature. The authors see a research gap in this field.

Opis:
The two-stroke engines have never acquired the popularity of the four-stroke engines due to their inherent performance limitations. The tasks of many engineering teams were to find the basic causes, which resulted in the inferior performance of these engines. Today’s task is to build a two-stroke engine whose performance could match that of a four-stroke engine in areas of common use. The most typical performance problems of a two-stroke engine are high petrol consumption caused by low efficiency, toxic by-products of combustion being emitted into the atmosphere (caused by oil present in the petrol), and uneven and loud engine noise. The greatest challenge is to achieve a good chamber purge during one stroke in which the fresh fuel mixture flows through the piston-controlled inlet port while at the same time the fumes are being exhausted through the outlet port. This in contrast with the four-stroke engines where the intake and exhaust are each done with two separate strokes. From the energy point of view, the two-stroke engine is not efficient because a certain amount of fresh fuel is being wasted in the exhaust fumes. We propose to replace the piston-controlled cam with the valve-flushed system, which will cause the combustion process to become more efficient. The purpose of this paper is to present various designs of the engine heads and analyse their performance. The goal of this proposal is to choose the best combination of these engine heads in order to achieve the optimum overall engine performance.

Badania prowadzono w warunkach laboratoryjnych z wykorzystaniem gleb zanieczyszczonych produktami ropopochodnymi. Próbki gleb pobrano: na stacji kolejowej (przy torach kolejowych) w Zielonej Górze, na Lotnisku w Przylepie pod Zieloną Górą (w miejscu tankowania benzyny), oraz na stacji benzynowej w Zielonej Górze (ulica Konstytucji 3-maja). Badania mikrobiologiczne prowadzono w laboratorium Instytutu Inżynierii Środowiska, Uniwersytetu Zielonogórskiego w okresie letnim 2010 i 2011 roku. Badania mikrobiologiczne polegały na określeniu: ogólnej liczby bakterii w pobranych próbach gleb oraz hodowanie wybranych szczepów bakterii na pożywkach sztucznych (pożywka stała i płynna) w celu zastosowania niektórych z tych szczepów do gleby zakażonych różnymi substancjami zawierającymi węglowodory (benzyna, ropy naftowa i olej). The research was carried out in laboratory conditions with the soils which was contaminated with product of petroleum origin. The soil tests were taken from: a railway station (by railway track), air field Przylep (from place to fill up with petrol of plane), petrol station in the street Konstytucja 3-maja in Zielona Góra, Poland. The microbiological studies was analysed in laboratory Institute of Environment Engineering, University of Zielona Góra, Poland in the summer 2010 and 2011of the years. W artykule zamieszczono rezultaty analizy oddziaływania ruchu komunikacyjnego na gleby w pobliżu stacji paliw. Metodą ASA oznaczono w próbach gleby zawartość: Fe, Ni, Cu, Zn, Cd oraz Pb. Próby te pobrano w sąsiedztwie 22 stacji paliw zlokalizowanych na terenie woj. śląskiego. Do oceny tendencji zmian zawartości metali wykorzystano analizę korelacyjną oraz analizę czynników głównych. Współczynniki korelacji między zawartościami wybranych metali mogą być wykorzystane do weryfikacji zasięgu wpływu emisji komunikacyjnej na gleby w sąsiedztwie dróg i stacji paliw.
The results of analysis of the influence of motor vehicle emission on soils near petrol stations are presented in this paper. The contents of Fe, Ni, Cu, Zn, Cd, Pb were determined by atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS). The soil samples were taken in the vicinity of 22 petrol stations in the region of Upper Silesia. Principal component analysis and correlation analysis were used for the determination of change tendency in heavy metal contents. The correlation factors between contents of selected metals may be used for verification of the long-term influence on the soils of both vehicle emission and petrol stations.
