Many prominent bioethicists have recently raised the question of the possibility of moral status enhancement. In this paper I discuss the arguments advanced by Nicholas Agar for the possible existence of the postpersons. I argue that in spite of the many limitations and shortcomings of Agar’s account, there are no conclusive reasons to rule out the possibility of moral status enhancement. However, if post-persons are as they are described by Agar, the fact of their possibility is less interesting and ethically relevant than it might seem. Most importantly, the account of post-persons given by Agar is rather an outcome of some implausible assumptions. I propose that Agar conflates the ethical with the scientific and dismisses the importance of phenomenology in framing our ethical outlook. Also, he seems to follow the assumption made by many utilitarian ethicists that such features as sentience and cognitive capacities have some universal relevance. This accounts for the delusion that we can view our moral attitudes from the point of view of the Universe.

Introduction. The deteriorating health of persons of advanced age necessitates that essential health care services are provided not only by networks of health care institutions but by informal caregivers as well. Aim. The aim of this study was to assess select aspects of care provision for persons requiring long-term care on the basis of opinions shared by their direct informal caregivers. Materials and methods. Surveys were administered to 982 individuals providing informal care for chronically ill persons or for those with disabilities. The survey was conducted in 2017. The questionnaire contained questions concerning the dysfunctions of chronically ill or disabled persons in their daily functioning and addressed related care problems. Results. Over half of the informal caretakers in the study were over 50 years of age (52.5%), had completed secondary educations (45.8%), and lived mainly in cities with populations under 50 thousand (63.4%). Reconciling care-related duties with one’s own professional work or studies was a problem for 43.2% of caregivers. The care tasks which entailed the greatest difficulties for caregivers were washing intimate areas after urination (57.4%) and bowel movements (55.6%) as well as total body bathing. Conclusions. In the opinion of over half of the surveyed caregivers, the activity posing the greatest difficulty for those providing care for persons partially or completely immobilized and possessing physiological dysfunctions (urinary or fecal incontinence) was the washing of intimate areas of the body.

Opis:
Presupposition for realizing the demand for bus transport is the existence of its potential, which represents the population of that city, region, or state. Public passenger transport is considered to be an instrument of state social policy. The legislation defines it as transport performed to satisfaction the transport needs of persons, especially vulnerable groups, pupils, students, and pensioners. A significant problem in Slovakia and also in abroad is an aging population. The retired population has different transport habits like other groups of passengers (children, pupils and students, economically active persons), which is related to the change of transport requirements, as well as an adaptation the public transport offer. In recent years, the number of license holders of individual disabled persons has been increasing in Slovakia, or possibly individual person with severe disability with a guide. In this article, we focus on examining the issue of the rising trend of issued valid licenses of disabled persons and persons with reduced mobility, and related new measures, to which transport undertakings are confronted and transport service subscribers. The aim is also to identify the motivation to own a disability person license or persons with reduced mobility with the ability to use it for the demand for public passenger transport.

The article concerns one of the most important detailed risk management issues, namely, the risk related to key persons. In the theoretical part of the article, the author analyses the current status of the risk associated with key persons in the processes of management of companies. The empirical part contains the results of research conducted on a group of 44 service companies listed on the NewConnect. The research conducted brought about cognitive effects involving, inter alia, identification of ways of perception of the risk related to key persons and the expected potential consequences of its occurrence in the companies surveyed. The study primarily used the method of critical review of the literature and analysis of the content of disclosure documents of the surveyed companies.

The article opens with an exposition of the notion of solidarity as an interper-sonal link, in opposition to the conventional association of individuals. In the first instance, such solidarity characterizes the Eucharistic communion which embraces those who feed from the same Bread and Wine, and is not understood as a passive effect of the sacrament, but as moral virtue which springs up from the cooperation with Jesus the Redeemer. Secondly, solidarity assimilates the life of a man to that of his Saviour which is echoed with the words of St. Paul: “and yet I am alive; yet it is no longer I, but Christ living in me” (Ga. 2, 20). And, thirdly, solidarity, which finds its basis in the Eucharist, can not expect its fulfilment in this earthly life of man, but only in reaching the glorious floor of heaven.

Sudan is a country divided into two parts - the North and South. The domestic wars between South Sudan and the government in Khartoum, which have lasted since gaining independence in 1956, as well as a still lasting conflict in Darfur, led to creation of the biggest group of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in this country. The IDPs have emigrated from South Sudan to North, most often to the suburbs of Khartoum. It is estimated that over 5 million people have escaped from the South to the North so far. In the whole history of Sudan the differences between those two regions have deepened. The differences resulted from marginalization of the South and attempts of the government in Khartoum to arabisate and islamizate the whole country. The most important criterion of division in Sudan is religion. In South Sudan live Christians and worshipers of animist religion, Islam, on the other hand, prevails in the North. In camps for IDPs from South discrimination because of lighter colour of skin and different religion is still visible. The Southerners are strangers in their own country.

According to the author, it should be recognized that it is admissible to conclude an employment contract, to which a completely incapacitated person would be a party. In such a case, the contract should be concluded by a guardian of such a person. Employment of a totally legally incapacitated person should meet the requirements of the Act on Vocational and Social Rehabilitation and Employment of Disabled Persons, including those relating to the performance of work in sheltered employment conditions or in a position adapted by the employer to the needs of such person. The assessment of the admissibility of employing a completely legally incapacitated person in a kindergarten as a janitor should be performed assessing each case individually, taking into account the cause of incapacitation and the scope of facilitations introduced by the employer.

The author of the presented article focused his attention on the question of general principles concerning the division of juridic persons in the canonical legal order. He proved that within can. 122 CIC the legislator only discussed the problem of the division of public juridic persons but did not include any solutions concerning the division of private juridic persons. According to the author, there are two reasons behind this. Firstly, this approach to the problem results from the dominant doctrine of 1917 Code which put particular stress on the public nature of the canonical legal order. Secondly, it results from the fact that private persons have much autonomy in the canonical system. In his interpretation of can. 122 CIC the author points out that the ecclesial legislator clearly refrains from adopting mathematical criteria of division and makes final decision dependant on discretional competent power or executor established by this power. The author believes it is a right approach since using mathematical criteria of division would restrict the power in making appropriate actions. Before making a decision on the basis of criteria specified in can. 122, nr 1–2 CIC the competent power should also take into consideration the specificity of the position in which persons being divided are or will be.

Opis:
Help for dysfunctional families with children is included in statutory duties of communes. Families, which are having difficulty in correct filling up tasks associated with the care and raising children, can receive the support from the assistant of the family. It is relatively young profession, which was led into the Polish legislation in 2011. The act is exchanging objectives of family assistants in detail. Also supporting families with disabled or chronically ill persons belongs to them.
Udzielanie pomocy rodzinom dysfunkcyjnym z dziećmi należy do ustawowych obowiązków gmin. Rodziny, które mają trudności w wypełnianiu funkcji opiekuńczo-wychowawczej mogą otrzymać wsparcie w postaci m.in. działań asystenta rodziny. To stosunkowo młody zawód, który został wprowadzony do polskiego prawodawstwa w 2011 roku. Ustawa wymienia szczegółowo zadania asystentów rodzinnych. Należy do nich również wsparcie rodzin z niepełnosprawnymi czy przewlekle chorymi osobami.

The subject of legal entities’ representation in private law trading is of utmost importance because it affects the correctness of legal acts performed by these entities. The author, having analyzed the origins of legal entity’s representation and the form of legal entity’s representation on the grounds of European models (Germany) shows that in European countries of German legal traditions the model of organizational representation (organschaftlicher Vertretung) is being applied more and more commonly. On the grounds of Polish law the legal concept and model of the body of legal entities have based on the so called theory of bodies (organs) until recently. At present, under the influence of European solutions (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) there is a tendency to treat the bodies of legal entities as organizational representatives (of statute nature), i.e. the third – beside legal representation and based on contract - type of representation. It seems, however, that organizational representation constitutes a pragmatic alternative for the hitherto, formal concept of the theory of bodies (organs), which may substantially affect the flexibility of trading.

The article addresses the problem of population aging and the related problem of using and maintenance of technical means by the older persons. Such persons, as participants of the exploitation process, experience various problems. Therefore, the challenge is to adapt technical means to the needs of older people. The response of engineers to this challenge may be the technology assessment, which assumes the adoption of various achievements in the field of philosophy, sociology, psychology or other social sciences as tools for their work. The proposal for such a solution is presented in the article and it is an indicator that allows you to draw conclusions about the real needs of older people. The effect of calculations with its use is the Wi characterization in the function of the human age. This characteristic complements the characteristics obtained on the basis of empirical data about the behavior of a technical mean. The article also presents the possibilities of using the discussed indicator. These include: improving the quality of life of users of technical means at various ages through rational management of company resources, improving the quality of life of users through user-centered design, exclusion from exploitation by the elderly technical means/their components based on social technology assessment, analysis and optimization of needs people of different ages, modeling the movement of older people, elimination of social exclusion of older people, improving the quality of life of people of all ages through appropriate knowledge management.

The aim of this paper is to critically analyze introduced in 2008 changes in the rules of subsidizing employment of people with disabilities and their impact on the sector sheltered workshops and employment of people with disabilities. Subsidies for the employment of people with disabilities, introduced in 2004, provided an important instrument for the support of all employers that employ disabled people. However, the allocation of large sums of sheltered workshops than employers operating in the open labor market, would be compensation for expenditure on the creation of special working conditions and rehabilitation in the sheltered workshops. The reduction of these amounts and equalization grants transferred to sheltered workshops with employers from the open labor market was particularly unfavorable for sheltered employment sector and has become the major cause of the resignation of sheltered workshop of this status.

It is clear that no language exists in isolation and through personal encounters, contact between languages results in lexical borrowings. The influence of one language on another can be perceived in a positive way - as an enrichment of the lexical language of the recipient, or a negative way - for example, as an attempt to replace native lexical units with those of foreign origin. In this article we have made an attempt to analyze three individual personal designations (Celebrity, Star, VIP) borrowed by German from English. This article aims to discuss examples of lexemes, taking into account such aspects of their adaptation and integration into the German language as semantics, frequency of occurrence and formative productivity.

Opis:
The need for leading an active life style, including amateur sport, which has a vital influence on our physical and intellectual fitness, should be obvious at present. Recent research of the Polish society indicates that generally the amount of exercise a person does, decreases with their age. It seems justified to ask the question about the roots of such a state of affairs. Is it a matter of bad habits? Or maybe our mentality? Or a lack of spatial conditions for doing sports at an older age? This paper concentrates on the last problem. It tries to answer this question on the basis of an analysis of the genesis of areas/facilities of physical activity for senior citizens and modern social and spatial conditions for the existence of such places. Further, the paper shows a description of noticeable trends of future development present in the environment of active seniors in the 21st century. In the summary, defines research directions which could positively influence the development of sport and recreation infrastructure in built environment friendly for older persons.
Potrzeba prowadzenia przez całe życie aktywnego trybu życia, w tym rekreacyjne uprawianie sportu, mające zasadniczy wpływ na naszą fizyczną i intelektualną sprawność powinna być w dzisiejszych czasach sprawą oczywistą. Najnowsze badania społeczeństwa polskiego wskazują jednak na bierność obywateli w tym temacie zgodnie z zasadą: im człowiek starszy, tym mniej ćwiczy. Zasadne wydaje się zatem pytanie, dlaczego tak się dzieje? Czy jest to kwestia złych nawyków? A może bardziej naszej mentalności? Czy może wreszcie braku warunków przestrzennych do uprawiania sportu w późniejszym wieku? W artykule skoncentrowano się na problematyce ujętej w ostatnim pytaniu. Poszukiwanie odpowiedzi na nie prowadzono w oparciu o analizę genezy terenów / obiektów aktywnego wypoczynku dla osób starszych oraz współczesnych społeczno – przestrzennych uwarunkowań dla istnienia tych miejsc. W dalszej części opracowania zaprezentowano opis zauważalnych tendencji ku przyszłości, występujących w środowisku aktywnych seniorów XXI wieku. W podsumowaniu określono kierunki badań, mogących pozytywnie wpłynąć na rozwój, przyjaznej osobom starszym infrastruktury sportowo – rekreacyjnej w środowisku zbudowanym.

Labour migration of people at productive age is a common practice in Western countries based on capitalist economy and parliamentary democracy. Post-accession migration from Poland is a mass phenomenon nowadays, having a double impact on the situation of the oldest family members: they face the need to undertake new versions of old traditional roles or – on the other hand – they are left alone, often in deteriorating health conditions and without assistance in everyday routines. The aim of this analysis is to provide recommendations for social policy on possible solutions supporting and supplementing the care offered for old persons in the situation of migration of their adult children. The analysis is based on the existing data and reports.  Recommendations proposed in the article are directly and indirectly related to forms of care which should be provided to older adults. Aid and assistance are viewed as a chain of interrelated processes; for example, higher digital competences of older adults would allow them to communicate with their families abroad and would help them to be independent in shopping or fixing financial and administrative affairs, as they could do this online.

Głównym celem artykułu jest prezentacja możliwości i uwarunkowań wykorzystywania wiedzy i doświadczenia osób w wieku 50 lat i więcej w przedsiębiorstwach oraz ich otoczeniu. Zaprezentowano specyfikę procesów coachingu i mentoringu. Omówiono możliwości włączenia w takie formy transferu wiedzy specjalistów w wieku okołoemerytalnym.

The legal basis for the harmonisation of corporate (legal persons’) income taxation in the European Union is Article 115 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union (TFEU) and the indicated Council directives. In the current state of law, the provisions shaped under the impact of EU law include those regulating, among other things, the taxation of hybrid structures, the income of foreign-controlled companies, unrealised profits, income earned abroad, dividends, as well as those relating to revenue or deductible costs and tax exemptions.

Some scholars define perfectionism as the relationship between one’s abilities and expectations. A strong emotional reaction to the discrepancy between these can be maladaptive and even lead to aggressive behaviour. The study covered 133 students and graduates of colleges around Poland, including 67 persons of various specialties in visual arts. In order to characterise perfectionism, the Polish version of the Goals and Work Habits Survey (Schuler, 1994) was used, while the tool called Inwentarz Psychologiczny Agresji [Aggression Psychological Inventory] (Gaś, 1980) was used for description of aggression. The aim of the study was to analyse the relationship between specific aspects of perfectionism and aggression in artistically gifted persons. The results of the study indicate that artistically gifted persons scored higher in respect of some aspects of perfectionism than persons from the control group. The assumption that the studied groups differ in terms of aggression syndrome has not been confirmed. The artistically gifted men differed from the control group men in terms of aspects of perfectionism and in terms of transferred aggression. No statistically significant differences in terms of perfectionism or aggression syndrome have been established between the women. Moreover, gender did not differentiate perfectionism in the group of artistically talented persons.

Human dignity is composing the main theme for the interaction with mentally ill people, which requires certain competence and a certain sensitivity. The action in the psychiatric daily routine in dealing with mentally ill people is always an enforcement and must always remain questionable. Child and adolescent psychiatry is arranged in between pedagogical responsibility and psychopathological understanding. Here the emotional structure of the young man has not been sufficiently constituted yet. For this reason the conception of human being by people working in psychiatric departments has to be affected by the valuable singularity of each other. Human dignity is jeoparding in psychiatry frequently by compulsory measures and stigma. Therefore it is more important that action in psychiatry is taking place among social dignity. In the consorting with mentally ill people, people working in the field of psychiatry have the obligation to support them actively in the protection of their identity. This obligation has an indispensable, existential significance in psychiatry.
