Opis:
Numerous studies have been undertaken to explain inventory models with different features. While findings from earlier studies have been conflicting, recent industrial-level studies indicate that multi features inventory models have a positive impact on business scenario. We propose an inventory model with integration of many real features like constant deterioration under cash discount scheme and permissible delay in payments. That is, we want to investigate the buyer’s optimal replenishment policy with quadratic demand under trade credit and cash discount to maximise joint total profit per unit time. Furthermore, numerical example and sensitivity analysis are presented to illustrate the results of the proposed model and to draw managerial insights.

Opis:
Retail businesses must constantly evolve with new strategies introduced in order to meet and even to exceed customers’ expectations. This effort can be enhanced by incorporating inspection processes in business routines that will maximize the effectiveness of attempts to sell quality products. Further, permissible delay in payments has certainly been a prominent strategy in today’s business transactions, helping in gaining the financial advantage for both the retailers and the suppliers. Moreover, in order to recognize the proper and exact timing of cash flows associated with an inventory system, inflation and time value of money should also be incorporated. Considering all the above described real life aspects and problems, a model is formulated here to study the combined effect of imperfect quality items, trade credit, shortages, inflation and time value of money on an inventory system. An analytical method is employed to jointly optimize the order quantity and the shortages. To study the behavior and application of the proposed model, a numerical example, including sensitivity analysis, has been analyzed. The potential applications, improving the decision making process of the model introduced can be found in industries like textile, footwear, plastics, electronics, etc.

Opis:
Huang and Hsu (2008) investigated the inventory system as a cost minimization problem, with the objective to determine the retailer’s optimal inventory policy under the supply chain conditions. Then, Chung (2008) presented the comments to this problem, with the aim to overcome the shortcomings and present complete proofs for the results, relative to Huang and Hsu (2008). However, the proof, proposed by Chung is cumbersome, and can be followed with difficulty. The main purpose of this paper is to develop another proof, much more easy to comprehend.
