    The purpose of the article is an attempt to develop the primary habitus into the secondary in school environment, through the passage rituals (rites de passage) and related to them social drama (Social Drama). I assume that the school environment is normalized by institutionalized rituals in which the primary habitus is transformed into the secondary habitus through rituals. Its subjective consolidation and possible transformation is being done by education and upbringing. From the side of education, consolidation and transformation are complemented by school documentary and textual practices, and from the side of education by the moral ideal, conditioned by so-called the effect of reversing. All this process, hermeneutically and circularly complements the structure of the rite of passage.

    W tekście podjęto problematykę rytuałów przejścia, nadania i zatwierdzania towarzyszących wchodzeniu w dorosłość. W rozważaniach tych odniesiono się zarówno do kwestii teoretycznych, uwzględniając typologię rytuałów zaproponowaną przez Pierreʹa Bourdieu, jak i do wybranych rezultatów badań własnych (ilościowych i jakościowych), przeprowadzonych pod koniec pierwszej dekady XXI wieku wśród maturzystów regionu świętokrzyskiego. Pod uwagę wzięto te praktyki rytualne, które nadal posiadają znaczenie dla młodzieży (bierzmowanie, „osiemnastka” i matura), choć sposób ich celebracji oraz pełnione funkcje podlegają mniej lub bardziej istotnym przeobrażeniom.
    The text deals with the rituals of passage, granting and approval accompanying entering adulthood. These considerations refer to both theoretical issues, taking into account the typology of rituals proposed by Pierre Bourdieu, and to selected results of own research (quantitative and qualitative) carried out at the end of the first decade of the 21st century among high school graduates of the Świętokrzyskie region. The ritual practices that are still important for young people (confirmation, "eighteenth" and high school graduation) were taken into account, although the manner of their celebration and the functions performed are subject to more or less significant transformations.

    The aim of this study was to explore cultural factors affecting burial rituals in Poland. Thirty-four university students collected data from their relatives and created written narratives about deaths in their families or community. Ten additional interviews were conducted with community members, a priest, and medical personnel as part of theoretical sampling and verifi cation of emerging theories. The qualitative material was administered with NVivo and analysed using the Grounded Theory techniques to produce a complex description of folk beliefs, superstitions, as well as symbolic and psychological meaning ascribed to traditional customs. Some of the practices were found susceptible to extinction due to industrialisation, globalisation, and cultural development.

    The article discusses an issue to which researchers of religious phenomena attach considerable importance, namely the attitude of young people to religious rites of passage. Practices such as baptism, first communion, confirmation, church marriage and funeral only occur once in a lifetime and allow new patterns of behavior to be assigned to individuals within a religious group. Stronger identification with faith, and consistent participation in observances in particular, promote a higher appreciation of their importance. With the hindsight of a decade, one notices a distanced attitude of high school graduates from the Świętokrzyskie region towards rituals that constitute their previous or anticipated experience (especially confirmation, and, to a lesser extent, communion or church wedding). This mainly concerns the religious significance of the rites, while the functions related to integration, tradition, ludicity and self-presentation seem relatively stable, also in the case of non-practitioners. The question of the role of contemporary socialization agendas with respect to transmission of religious culture remains open.

    Kalendarz uroczystości i wydarzeń przedszkolnych pełni istotną rolę w procesie wychowania i socjalizacji dziecka. Obchodzone według niego święta stanowią podstawową formę kultywowania tradycji i zachowania obrzędów. Momenty te w społeczności przedszkolnej rozumiane są jako zawieszenie normalnego, ustalonego porządku codzienności i wkroczenie w czas odświętny, nasycony symbolicznie. Powtarzane i celebrowane w corocznym przedszkolnym rytmie, mogą być interpretowane jako wydarzenia o charakterze rytualnym. Sprawozdanie zawiera opracowanie empirycznej weryfikacji części badań autorskich dotyczącej liczebności, typów i znaczenia rytuałów występujących w kalendarzach wydarzeń rzeszowskich przedszkoli. Analiza ilościowa przedszkolnych uroczystości i świąt została przeprowadzona przy użyciu standaryzowanego klucza kategoryzacyjnego, w którym wyróżniono rytuały przejścia, rytuały cykliczne i rytuały okolicznościowe. Wyniki jednoznacznie wskazują na istotną obecność rytuałów w funkcjonowaniu przedszkola.
    The calendar of preschool celebrations and events plays an essential role in the process of a child’s upbringing and socialization. According to it, all holidays are the basic form of cultivating tradition and maintaining rituals. For the preschool community, these moments are understood as suspending the normal, established order of everyday life and entering a festive, symbolically saturated time. Repeated and celebrated in the annual preschool rhythm, they can be interpreted as ritual events. The report contains an empirical verification of part of the author’s research on the number, types and significance of rituals occurring in the calendar of events in the Rzeszów kindergartens. The quantitative analysis of pre-school celebrations and holidays was carried out using a standardized categorization key in which rites of passage, cyclical rituals and occasional rituals were distinguished. The results clearly indicate a significant presence of rituals in the functioning of the kindergarten.

    The article presents the historical activity, specificity and thematic scope of research conducted by faculty members and students, with a particular focus on postdoctoral (habilitation), doctoral and master’s theses that were written on the subject of folk religiosity at the Department of Religiology and Missiology at John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin. In order to explain our research methodology and the method of analyzing the collected source material obtained from ethnographic field studies on social and spiritual folk culture, the article presents the main themes of the examined annual rituals (Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter) and the rites of passage (weddings, funerals). Many of our articles on folk rituals and religiosity have been published in journals and research monographs.

    Artykuł prezentuje działalność, specyfikę i tematykę badań Katedry Religiologii i Misjologii nad religijnością ludową. Zarówno pracownicy naukowi, jak i studenci mogą poszczycić się znacznymi osiągnięciami w tym zakresie, o czym świadczą prace dyplomowe powstałe w Katedrze. W przypadku pracowników naukowych uwidacznia się to w obecności na konferencjach naukowych, gdzie wygłaszano referaty, które następnie ukazywały się w formie zbiorowych publikacji. Wiele artykułów z zakresu obrzędowości i religijności ludowej zostało opublikowanych w czasopismach i monografiach naukowych. W pracach zwraca się także uwagę na przemiany, jakie nastąpiły w obrzędowości dorocznej, weselnej czy pogrzebowej na przestrzeni ostatnich lat. Zmiany dokonują się na wielu płaszczyznach życia społecznego, kulturowego czy gospodarczego, nie ominęły również ludowej obrzędowości. Pomimo wkradania się w tę społeczność nowych trendów, tak często pochodzących z innych kultur, mieszkańcy wsi (w zależności od regionu Polski) na współczesny sposób reaktywują lub pielęgnują dawne zwyczaje i obrzędy ludowe. Rekonstrukcja tradycji ludowych i światopoglądu pozwala współczesnemu człowiekowi lepiej zrozumieć ludzkie zachowania w różnych kontekstach społecznych, historycznych i kulturowych, przez co zachęca do ponownego odczytania źródłowych materiałów etnograficznych, co z kolei pozwala lepiej rozpoznać i zrozumieć wiele stereotypów, zachowań i narracji obecnych we współczesnej kulturze polskiej i w przeżywaniu religii.
