The paper concerns the problem of choosing a criterion for transmission line when lumped parameters analysis is required. First, the formal introduction of transmission line scheme is presented. Secondly, a new criterion for lumped-parameter analysis of transmission line is proposed. The criterion has clear physical meaning and simple mathematical form. The proposed criterion takes into account not only wave length, but also the dissipation of transmission line. The criterion can be easily adjusted to some requirements, such as needed level of no-load output voltage change.

W artykule przeprowadzono analizę porównawczą wybranych systemów operacyjnych we współczesnych urządzeniach mobilnych. W tym celu analizie poddano smartfony iPhone 6s oraz flagowe modele firmy Samsung z serii Galaxy. W celu przeprowadzenia testów wykorzystano dostępne na rynku aplikacje freeware. Pozwoliło to na dokonanie analizy porównawczej parametrów urządzeń w środowisku użytkownika.
The paper presents a comparative analysis of selected operating systems in mobile devices, using smartphones: iPhone 6s and Samsung models from the Galaxy series. The study used freeware applications. It allowed to analysis and compare the devices parameters in users environment.

Przedmiotem pracy są badania symulacyjne i analiza wybranych parametrów siłowni pracującej w obiegu gazowo-parowym. Uzyskane na podstawie przyjętego modelu szacunkowe wartości mocy i sprawności siłowni porównano z wynikami uzyskanymi podczas testów odbiorczych przykładowej instalacji, przeprowadzonych przez jedno z wiodących konsorcjów, działających w obszarze systemów wytwarzania energii (SIEMENS AG. Power Generation Group).
This paper deals with analysis and simulation research of selected parameters of combined cycle plant. Presented work is focused on elaboration of the evaluation methodology of power and efficiency of combined cycle plant based on the author’s analytical model of considered installation. The estimated values of power and efficiency obtained on the basis of the elaborated model have been compared with the results obtained during the final tests of the exemplary installations carried out by the one of the leading producers of the systems in the power generation field.

W artykule zasygnalizowano problem oszczędzania energii przy jednoczesnym zachowaniu wymagań środowiskowych w budynkach. Podjęcie decyzji zmierzających do oszczędzenia energii wymaga wykonania kompleksowej analizy parametrów środowiskowych i eksploatacyjnych budynku. Przedstawiono uwzględniane elementy i korzyści z realizacji wdrożonego programu modernizacyjnego, w tym zastosowania zintegrowanego zarządzania gospodarką energetyczną na przykładzie budynków użyteczności publicznej. Kompleksowe podejście przynosi wymierne korzyści nie tylko w zakresie zużycia energii, ale i poprawę parametrów środowiskowych.
The intention of the article is to pay attention to possibilities of energy conservation in an architecture sector, provided that all present environmental requirements are met. It is possible to gain rational economic profits as a result of some investment and organizational efforts. So as to make appropriate decisions in order to succeed in making the above mentioned actions it is necessary to do a complex analysis of environmental and operating parameters of a building. The paper presents profits gained from implementation of a modernization program and application of an integrated management system of energy with reference to public utility buildings. Application of a complex program brings some rational profits, both within the scope of energy consumption and - what is more important - improvement of environmental parameters

The paper presents a method of recommended waterway parameters determination, based on modified relationships derived from actual empirical research - the authors’ combination of PIANC and Canadian deterministic methods and stochastic relationships). These relationships are mostly discontinuous functions (e.g. of ship type variable, speed, method of determining the position, etc.), which can be approximated by continuous spline functions. Application built in C# allows determining the recommended minimum width of the waterway, the width increase due to the accuracy of the vessel positioning method, and the minimum radius of waterway bends. The results can be further utilized in the Decision Support System for Water Transport Safety.

The RELAP5/MOD3 input data model of the MARIA research reactor has been developed to provide the capability for the analysis of the reactor core under loss of flow and reactivity insertion transients. The model was qualified against the reactor data at steady state conditions and, additionally, against the existing reliable experimental data for a transient initiated by the reactor scram. The results obtained with the code agree well with the experimental data. The RELAP transient simulation was performed for loss of forced flow accidents including two scenarios with protected and unprotected (no scram) reactor core. Calculations allow estimating time margin for reactor scram initiation and reactivity feedbacks contribution to the results. The presented input data model should be treated as the first step for developing of the model including the whole primary cooling circuit of the reactor.

Celem pracy zaprezentowanej w artykule jest przedstawienie analizy sposobu pomiaru parametrów ryb, wykorzystywanych do sterowania maszyn do obróbki ryb, na przykładzie operacji odgławiania. Celem analizy jest określenie przydatności pomiarów pośrednich i bezpośrednich w operacjach obróbki w zależności od osiąganej wydajności technologicznej. Uzasadniono konieczność prowadzenia prac nad mechatronicznymi systemami pomiaru parametrów, jako podstawy sterowania maszyn dla podniesienia ich wydajności i uniwersalizacji pod względem gatunków obrabianych ryb.
Article provides analysis of fish measurement parameters used for steering of fish processing machines, eg. for deheading. The task of experiments was to evaluate usefulness of direct or indirect measurements for steering the operations of processing machines and impact of these measurements on the yield. Further need for research on use of mechatronic systems of direct measurement of different parameters for steering fish processing machines for improved yield and use the same machines for different fish species is highlighted.

Background The aims of this study have been twofold: to attempt to reduce the number of spatiotemporal parameters used for describing gait through the factor analysis and component analysis; and to explore the critical age of decline for other gait parameters for healthy women. Material and Methods A total of 106 women (aged ≥ 40 years old (N = 76) and ≤ 31 years old (N = 30)) were evaluated using a pressure-sensitive mat (Zebris Medical System, Tübingen, Germany) for collecting spatiotemporal gait parameters. Results The factor analysis identified 2 factors – labelled Time and Rhythm – that accounted for 72% of the variation in significant free-gait parameters; the principal component analysis identified 4 of these parameters that permit full clinical evaluation of gait quality. No difference was found between the groups in terms of the values of parameters reflecting the temporal nature of gait (Rhythm), namely step time, stride time and cadence, whereas significant differences were found for total double support phase (p < 0.001). Next, seeking evidence of a critical decline in gait, we selected 3 parameters: total double support, stride time and velocity. We concluded that the women taking part in the experiment manifested significant signs of senile gait after the age of 60 years old, with the first symptoms thereof already manifesting themselves after 50 years of age. Conclusions We show that among 26 spatiotemporal parameters that may be used for characterizing gait, at least a half of them may be omitted in the assessment of gait correctness; a finding that may be useful in clinical practice. The finding that the onset of senile gait occurs in the case of women after the age of 60 years old, in turn, may be useful in evaluating the ability for performing types of physical work that mainly require ambulation. The article presents a method of selecting a fleet of vehicles with a homogeneous structure for tasks based on the statistical characteristics of their operational parameters. The selection of a vehicle fleet for tasks is one of the stages of vehicle fleet management in transport companies. The selection of a vehicle fleet for tasks has been defined as the allocation of a vehicle model to a given company, which is associated with the unification of the vehicle fleet to one specific type. The problem of selecting a fleet of vehicles has been presented in a multi-criteria approach. The operational parameters assessing the selection of vehicles for the tasks are mileage and the number of days to the first and subsequent failure, and vehicle maintenance costs. The developed method of selecting a fleet of vehicles for the tasks consists of two stages. In the first stage, the average operating parameter values are determined using statistical inference. In the second stage, using the MAJA method, a unified model of the fleet of vehicles operating in the enterprise is established.

Some physicochemical properties such as dissociation constant, acoustical parameters and thermal studies of acid are studied in methanol and 1,4-dioxane at 298.15 K. The dissociation constant of Chenodeoxycholic acid is evaluated in binary mixtures (of methanol / 1,4-dioxane + water) by two methods; half-integral and average methods. The acoustical properties have been evaluated from experimental data of density, viscosity and ultrasonic velocity. It is observed that in both the solvents, strong solute-solvent interactions exist. Thermal degradation of Chenodeoxycholic acid is found to be a single step process.

Computational gait analysis constitutes a useful tool for quantitative assessment of gait disturbances, improving functional diagnosis, assessment of treatment planning, and monitoring of disease progress. There is little research on use of computational gait analysis in neurorehabilitation of post-stroke survivors, but current evidence on its clinical application supports a favorable cost-benefit ratio. The research was conducted among 50 adult people: 25 of them after ischemic stroke constituted the study group, and 25 healthy volunteers constituted the reference group. Study group members were treated for 2 weeks (10 neurorehabilitation sessions). Spatio-temporal gait parameters were assessed before and after therapy and compared using a novel fuzzy-based assessment tool, fractal dimension measurement and gait classification based on artificial neural networks. Measured results of rehabilitation (changes of gait parameters) were statistically relevant and reflected recovery. There is good evidence to extend its use to patients with various gait diseases undergoing neurorehabilitation. However, methodology for properly conducting and interpreting the proposed assessment and analysis procedures, providing validity and reliability of their results remains a key issue. More objective clinical reasoning, based on proposed novel tools, requires further research.

The goal of this article is to present and compare recent approaches which use speech and voice analysis as biomarkers for screening tests and monitoring of some diseases. The article takes into account metabolic, respiratory, cardiovascular, endocrine, and nervous system disorders. A selection of articles was performed to identify studies that assess voice features quantitatively in selected disorders by acoustic and linguistic voice analysis. Information was extracted from each paper in order to compare various aspects of datasets, speech parameters, methods of applied analysis and obtained results. 110 research papers were reviewed and 47 databases were summarized. Speech analysis is a promising method for early diagnosis of certain disorders. Advanced computer voice analysis with machine learning algorithms combined with the widespread availability of smartphones allows diagnostic analysis to be conducted during the patient’s visit to the doctor or at the patient’s home during a telephone conversation. Speech analysis is a simple, low-cost, non-invasive and easy-toprovide method of medical diagnosis. These are remarkable advantages, but there are also disadvantages. The effectiveness of disease diagnoses varies from 65% up to 99%. For that reason it should be treated as a medical screening test and should be an indication of the need for classic medical tests.

In this paper, the regression analysis technique is applied to a large water quality dataset for the Sitnica River in Kosovo. It has been done to assess the correlation between water quality parameters. The data are generated by a wireless sensors network deployed in Sitnica. A regression analysis is applied to four water quality parameters: temperature, dissolved oxygen, pH, and electrical conductivity. The correlation between each pair of parameters has been assessed by using the WEKA software package, which is a popular time-saving tool for data analysis in distinct domains. The data are pre-processed to exclude out-of-range values and then the assessment of correlation for the pairs of parameters is applied. In comparison to other pairs of water quality parameters, the results show that dissolved oxygen and electrical conductivity correlate particularly closely with temperature. Regression equations of these two pairs of parameters may provide inferred information on dissolved oxygen and electrical conductivity about the Sitnica River. Such information may otherwise not be available to resource managers in Kosovo. Moreover, due to its easy to use and availability as an open-source software, WEKA may aid decision-makers on the management providing almost real-time information about surface water quality within the basin. This can be particularly useful especially in the case of continuous observation of water quality and a huge dataset gathered by using wireless sensors.

The goal of this research is to find a set of acoustic parameters that are related to differences between Polish and Lithuanian language consonants. In order to identify these differences, an acoustic analysis is performed, and the phoneme sounds are described as the vectors of acoustic parameters. Parameters known from the speech domain as well as those from the music information retrieval area are employed. These parameters are time- and frequency-domain descriptors. English language as an auxiliary language is used in the experiments. In the first part of the experiments, an analysis of Lithuanian and Polish language samples is carried out, features are extracted, and the most discriminating ones are determined. In the second part of the experiments, automatic classification of Lithuanian/English, Polish/English, and Lithuanian/Polish phonemes is performed.

The work focuses on assessment of soil physicochemical parameters influence on 137Cs accumulation in Of soil horizon. Besides organic matter content and pH, the parameters related to sorption properties and mobile ions concentration were considered. The data were transformed using Box-Cox formula. To find mutual relationships between variables cluster analysis (CA) and principal components analysis (PCA) were used. It was found that the transformed physicochemical parameters in Of horizon are more or less related with each other but no linear or nearly linear relationships between 137Cs activity and physicochemical parameters were found.
