Opis:
This paper presents the problems related to smelting gray and ductile cast iron. Special attention is paid to the metallurgical quality of cast iron. It depends on the type of furnace, charge materials and the special combination of charge, overheating and holding temperature, melting time, modification and spheroidization method. The evaluation of metallurgical quality has been performed by using derivative-thermal analysis (DTA). During the smelting process and secondary metallurgy, the ITACA system was used allowing to obtain information on alloy characteristic temperatures (Tliquidus, TeMin, TeMax, Tsolidus), VPS value, recalescence value, IGQ coefficient, nucleation gauge, porosity etc. The results of investigations and calculations are displayed in the form of graphs and dependencies. It has been shown that the derivative-thermal analysis (DTA) is an effective complement of chemical analysis and it has been found that both the increase in temperature and metal holding time have a negative impact on the metallurgical quality of liquid metal. The metallurgical quality can be improved by using proper composition of charge materials and modifiers.

Opis:
Safety is critical throughout all stages of aircraft operation, from air mission to ground operation. One of the most important airframe systems that influences the efficacy of ground safety is a wheel brake system. Aircraft ground speed deceleration requires the dissipation of kinetic energy, which depends on aircraft weight and speed. Significant levels of aircraft kinetic energy must be dissipated in the form of heat energy. The brakes of heavy aircraft are especially prone to overheating during landing and taxiing on the ground. The aim of this paper is to focus on the dangers caused by aircraft brakes when overheating and ways in which to eliminate brake overheating problems from a safety perspective.

Opis:
Overheating of vehicles is gradually becoming a common problem especially in tropical areas and during tropical seasons in the world. Although there are so many factors can cause overheating, hot weather is the most common cause of overheating. Coolants and thermostats in the radiator are no longer sufficient anymore. Traditional solutions preventing an engine from becoming overheated are: coolant levels must be maintained and without leaks; the oil level and viscosity must have the required properties; accepted technical conditions of radiator hoses and the radiator fan; the engine temperature must be acceptable. Modern cars are equipped with the systems supporting the operation process. The aim of this article is the concept of a solution that uses telematics to minimize engine failures due to overheating and to increase the operational readiness of transport means.
