Opis:
A construction of multiobserver is extended to arbitrary analytic control systems without any observability property. The dynamics of the multiobserver gives an estimation of the successive derivatives of the output and the output of the multiobserver is a set that approximates the whole class of states that are indistinguishable from the current state of the original system by the control applied to the system. The dynamics of the multiobserver is used to stabilize the system with the aid of output feedback. It is done under the assumption that the system is state-feed back stabilizable and the functions used in this feedback depend smoothly on the output function and its Lie derivatives.

Paper presents effective formulae, enabling transfer matrix pole assignment. This is accomplished by the use of generalized matrix inverses and the Kronecker product. All the desired pole distributions are covered - namely simple and multiple, real and complex. On this basis one-stage algorithms were developed, avoiding commonly used reduced orthogonality condition. Computational example of the presented algorithms is given.

Finally a numerical examples are investigated.

Opis:
Induction machines have of late become the most popular workhorses in the industry replacing DC machines because of their advantages, such as reduced cost, reliability and the absence of commutators, which make them adapt to unfavourable conditions with lower maintenance requirement. However, higher-order models of AC machines, nonlinearities in model equations, uncertainties in parameters and load disturbances make induction motors difficult to control than that of DC motors. In this paper, a robust control strategy considering the recent advances in technology is proposed employing input-output feedback linearization for the exact decoupling of electromagnetic torque and rotor flux using fractional-order sliding mode controller (SMC) for the outer speed loop. The sliding mode observer is also designed to extract the rotor flux from the DC input voltage of the inverter and stator current measurements. Finally, a comparison between the commonly used proportional integral and derivative (PID) controller and the proposed fractional-order SMCs is made and the conclusion is reached.

We consider stabilizing a discrete-time LTI (linear time-invariant) system via state feedback where both the quantized state and control input signals are involved. The system under consideration is stabilizable and stabilizing state feedback has been designed without considering quantization, but the system’s stability is not guaranteed due to the quantization effect. For this reason, we propose a hybrid quantized state feedback strategy asymptotically stabilizing the system, where the values of the quantizer parameters are updated at discrete time instants. We also extend the result to the case of static output feedback.

In this paper, a sequential quadratic programming method combined with a trust region globalization strategy is analyzed and studied for solving a certain nonlinear constrained optimization problem with matrix variables. The optimization problem is derived from the infinite-horizon linear quadratic control problem for discrete-time systems when a complete set of state variables is not available. Moreover, a parametrization approach is introduced that does not require starting a feasible solution to initiate the proposed SQP trust region method. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the method, some numerical results are presented in detail.

This paper focuses on the global practical Mittag-Leffler feedback stabilization problem for a class of uncertain fractional-order systems. This class of systems is a larger class of nonlinearities than the Lipschitz ones. Based on the quasi-one-sided Lipschitz condition, firstly, we provide sufficient conditions for the practical observer design. Then, we exhibit that practical Mittag-Leffler stability of the closed loop system with a linear, state feedback is attained. Finally, a separation principle is established and we prove that the closed loop system is practical Mittag-Leffler stable.

Opis:
Many interconnected systems in the real world, such as power systems and chemical processes, are often composed of subsystems. A decentralized controller is suitable for an interconnected system because of its more practical and accessible implementation. We use the homotopy method to compute a decentralized controller. Since the centralized controller constitutes the starting point for the method, its existence becomes very important. This paper introduces a non-singular matrix and a design parameter to generate a centralized controller. If the initial centralized controller fails, we can change the value of the design parameter to generate a new centralized controller. A sufficient condition for a decentralized controller is given as a bilinear matrix inequality with three matrix variables: a controller gain matrix and a pair of other matrix variables. Finally, we present numerical examples to validate the proposed decentralized controller design method.

This paper presents an overview of some recent results concerning the emerging theory of minimax LQG control for uncertain systems with a relative entropy constraint uncertainty description. This is an important new robust control system design methodology providing minimax optimal performance in terms of a quadratic cost functional. The paper first considers some standard uncertainty descriptions to motivate the relative entropy constraint uncertainty description. The minimax LQG problem under consideration is further motivated by analysing the basic properties of relative entropy. The paper then presents a solution to a worst case control system performance problem which can be generalized to the minimax LQG problem. The solution to this minimax LQG control problem is found to be closely connected to the problem of risk-sensitive optimal control.

This paper deals with two important practical problems in motion control of robot manipulators: the measurement of joint velocities, which often results in noisy signals, and the uncertainty of parameters of the dynamic model. Adaptive output feedback controllers have been proposed in the literature in order to deal with these problems. In this paper, we prove for the first time that Uniform Global Asymptotic Stability (UGAS) can be obtained from an adaptive output feedback tracking controller, if the reference trajectory is selected in such a way that the regression matrix is persistently exciting. The new scheme has been experimentally implemented with the aim of confirming the theoretical results.

In this paper, we consider the design of interconnected H infinity feedback control systems with quantized signals. We assume that a decentralized dynamic output feedback has been designed for an interconnected continuous-time LTI system so that the closed-loop system is stable and a desired H infinity disturbance attenuation level is achieved, and that the subsystem measurement outputs are quantized before they are passed to the local controllers. We propose a local-output-dependent strategy for updating the parameters of the quantizers, so that the overall closed-loop system is asymptotically stable and achieves the same H infinity disturbance attenuation level. Both the pre-designed controllers and the parameters of the quantizers are constructed in a decentralized manner, depending on local measurement outputs.

This paper deals with a Fault Tolerant Control (FTC) strategy for polytopic Linear Parameter Varying (LPV) systems. The main contribution consists in the design of a Static Output Feedback (SOF) dedicated to such systems in the presence of multiple actuator faults/failures. The controllers are synthesized through Linear Matrix Inequalities (LMIs) in both faultfree and faulty cases in order to preserve the system closed-loop stability. Hence, this paper provides a new sufficient (but not necessary) condition for the solvability of the stabilizing output feedback control problem. An example illustrates the effectiveness and performances of the proposed FTC method.

This paper is concerned with the problem of designing a robust modified repetitive-control system with a dynamic output feedback controller for a class of strictly proper plants. Employing the continuous lifting technique, a continuous-discrete two-dimensional (2D) model is built that accurately describes the features of repetitive control. The 2D control input contains the direct sum of the effects of control and learning, which allows us to adjust control and learning preferentially. The singular-value decomposition of the output matrix and Lyapunov stability theory are used to derive an asymptotic stability condition based on a Linear Matrix Inequality (LMI). Two tuning parameters in the LMI manipulate the preferential adjustment of control and learning. A numerical example illustrates the tuning procedure and demonstrates the effectiveness of the method.

Network data envelopment analysis (NDEA) is a non-parametric technique to evaluate the relative efficiency of decision-making units (DMUs) with network structures. An interesting and important network structure is a two-stage feedback process in which the outputs of the second stage are used as the inputs for the first stage. The existing approach did not consider undesirable products and from experience though we know that in real applications, network structures may consist of desirable and undesirable products outputs in which undesirable products can be used in the systems. The present paper proposes a DEA-based method for evaluating the relative efficiency of such a two-stage-feedback network structure with undesirable factors. Directional distance function along with weak disposability assumption for undesirable outputs has been used to analyse the performance of the network. A real case on ecological system of 31 regions in China is used to illustrate the applicability of the proposed approach.
