In present-day business innovation as a knowledge domain has not yet achieved such a level of development to meet the enterprise growing need for innovation. The number of rejected innovations and failures in the innovation process show the need to be prepared for every change innovations entail. The literature on the subject emphasizes that the proposed overall approach to the problem of innovation should include integration of knowledge of the psychological sciences which deal with supporting individual and group innovative competences of the employees with management sciences. The article presents organizational and psychological conditions of innovative activity of company employees. In economic practice and most reference books innovation is mainly connected with the technological process and new products and the role of people and their possibilities, limitations, or other factors of psychological character are underestimated. It describes the subjective prerequisite conditions for the employees’ innovative behavior.

Strategy determines long-term objectives of enterprise, which correspond to the main directions of operation and presents the allocation of resources to meet those objectives. Strategy is being implemented through the regular operation and strategic projects created for increasing the operational effectiveness, competitiveness and business efficiency. Conditions of implementing those strategic activities, as a key actions for a long term company success, should be taken into the detailed investigation. Considering the above, the paper’s goal was to analyze the impact of potential barriers of strategic projects implementation that constitute the strategic management processes in Polish companies. The survey was completed in 2016. The CATI method was used to obtain the information. The survey covered 168 small, medium and large enterprises representing services, industry and construction, agriculture, fisheries and forestry. Following results are addressed both to professionals and scientists in field of strategic management and project management.

That supply chain management and logistics are a determining factor for the long term success of a company was well documented by Forrester over a half century ago [1], with the importance of the statement only growing through the intervening years. Whether consciously factored into the operating mode or not, logistics and distribution channel management plays a critical role in the life, and death, of a firm. From the rudimentary beginnings of the start-up company to the hectic world of the growth company and onto the relatively secure existence in mature markets, the value chain consisting of logistics and distribution channel linkages follows the firm, until it solidifies into immutable form of the mature value chain and begins to exert an inexorable pressure on the survival of the entire chain, and conversely the chain imposes its will on the members. The emergence of mature industry value chains is often driven by the need to monopolistically control logistics and distribution channels which provides a competitive advantage but also introduces a serious exposure to pending shock loadings of the chain.

This study aims to explain the indicators of human resource productivity management in Kerman executive agencies. It is a descriptive, correlational as well as a developmental study purposefully conducted as a survey in the field of human resources. The sample includes 30 experts in the field of management and administration. It was obtained by purposeful sampling method and included 524 employees of the Kerman executive agencies that were gathered by stratified sampling method. Two questionnaires were used by the experts to confirm the validity and reliability of the model and one questionnaire was used to answer the questions. The validity and reliability of all questionnaires were confirmed. AMOS and SPSS statistical software were used for data analysis. The 42 subscales of human resource productivity management are summarized in 5 factors (individual, organizational, complementary organizational, occupational, and extra-organizational). It is an applieddevelopmental study considering the simultaneous identification of factors related to human resource productivity in line with the development indicators and can be used by all executive agencies throughout Iran.

Artykuł prezentuje przegląd przedmiotowych czynników dokonany na podstawie publikacji z zakresu bezpieczeństwa pracy z uwzględnieniem podziału na pozycje omawiane w literaturze najczęściej i najrzadziej W opracowaniu przedstawione zostały m. in. następujące czynniki: komunikacja, szkolenia, podział ról, centralizacja, formalizacja, koordynacja pracy, nadzór, dostępność zasobów, presja, kultura organizacyjna i kultura bezpieczeństwa, przywództwo, zaangażowanie pracowników.
Root causes of accidents are often related to organizational factors. This article presents a review of factors identified on the basis of literature in the field of health and safety at work. The list of factors starts with items most frequently discussed in scientific articles and ends with those mentioned only once. The review includes, among others, communication, training, role responsibilities, centralization, formalization, coordination of work, supervision, allocation of resources, pressure, organizational culture, safety culture, leadership and workers' commitment.

Opis:
The paper focuses on the analysis of the impact of technical, organizational and human factors on accident rate in small-sized enterprises. The research was carried out using the authors’ questionnaire. The results were verified using the method of direct interview with elements of observation. The results were compared with the trends prevailing in enterprises of EU countries. The respondents, i.e. production company workers, indicate technical factors as those which most significantly affect the occurrence of accidents at work. However, the assessment of the factors changes with the age of the respondents. Older workers, more often than younger employees, indicate the ones related to man or work organization as the most important factors affecting accidents at work and, consequently, the level of occupational safety. The presented results are a part of a larger whole project the authors of this paper are working on.

Purpose: This study focuses on the causal mechanisms by which a series of organizational factors like commitment, communication, experience, dependence and trust collectively affect on the success of science-industry R&D cooperation. The purpose of this paper is to identify multiple paths of complex causal recipes that can lead to success of science-industry R&D cooperation. Design/methodology/approach: The study uses fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA), a technique that provides a holistic view of the examined interrelationships, compared to traditional net effect approaches that assume symmetric and linear relationships among variables. Findings: Results indicate that different causal paths, exactly five configurations, explain success R&D contracts. Particularly, the findings reveal that the availability of commitment and communication are important, sufficient conditions because they appear in at least three of the five configurations that result from the analysis. In this way, a series of conclusions and implications have been obtained that can be very useful, both in the academic world and when trying to lead and manage cooperation agreements. Research implications: A comprehensive theoretical model was developed and tested that identifies the organizational factors of the success of science-industry R&D cooperation. The presented model and comprehensive research using fs/QCA allows to overcome the fragmentation of this specialized literature. Practical implications: The results contain a number of practical recommendations that can be useful in the conduct and management of cooperation agreements. During the establishing and developing contract stages, it is recommended to design managerial and organizational mechanisms that ensure a high degree of commitment and communication in combination with experience (configuration number 1) and/or with dependences (configuration number 4). Originality/value: Vital value of this paper is the use of fs/QCA, a technique that is an important novelty, at least in the field of R&D cooperation relationships between companies and research organizations. This method allows testing the configuration of conditions in relation to a specific outcome (e.g. success of science-industry R&D cooperation) in a way that is not possible using a linear additive approach.

Relacje między stylami kierowania a czynnikami organizacyjnymi stały się ostatnio szczególnie ważnym obszarem badań. W organizacjach, które obecnie podlegają nieustannym zmianom, oprócz indywidualnych determinant stylów kierowania znaczenia nabierają czynniki organizacyjne kierowania. Niniejszy artykuł przedstawia wyniki badań nad identyfikacją stylów kierowania polskich menedżerów za pomocą standaryzowanego kwestionariusza Style Kierowania Menedżerów (SKM) oraz w analizie skupień identyfikacji czterech charakterystycznych profili kierowania, jak pseudokierownicy, pseudodemokraci, naturalni liderzy i makiaweliści. Ponadto zdiagnozowano organizacyjne źródła zmienności stylów kierowania. Wielozmiennowa analiza wariancji wykazała, że typ firmy, szczebel zarządzania, staż pracy i liczba podwładnych mają istotne znaczenie w odniesieniu do indywidualnego stylu kierowania ludźmi.
Relationships between leadership styles and organizational factors have recently become an area of focus for scientific research. Organizational factors, along with individual determinants of leadership, are becoming increasingly more important in organizations, which are nowadays in constant flux. This article presents research results pertaining to identifying leadership styles using standardized questionnaire Managerial Styles of Leading Questionnaire and via cluster analysis categorizing four specific leadership profiles, i.e. Pseudo managers, Pseudo democrats, Natural leaders and Machiavellians. In addition, organizational basis of variance in leadership styles was examined. Multifactor variance analysis showed that type of organization, position in management hierarchy, seniority and number of people managed play significant role in utilizing individual leadership styles.

The author has made a careful comparative analysis of the factors which influence the organizational culture of two public universities. I described two universities, the oldest university of the pedagogy - Academy of Special Education and the oldest military academy - National Defense University. W artykule poruszono problematykę podejmowania pracy przez osoby skazane na karę pozbawienia wolności w kontekście czynników środowiska organizacji w modelu M. Leitera. Model ten dotyczy następujących czynników: obciążenia pracą, poczucia kontroli, nagród, wsparcia społecznego, poczucia sprawiedliwości i wartości. Zaprezentowano w nim wyniki badań przeprowadzonych na terenie jednostek penitencjarnych wśród pracujących osób odbywających karę pozbawienia wolności. Uzyskane wyniki wskazują, iż poznanie czynników organizacyjnych odpowiadających za klimat społeczny zakładu pracy może mieć znaczenie dla efektywności procesu readaptacji społecznej pracujących w nim skazanych.
This article focuses on the issue of undertaking work by individuals sentenced to imprisonment in the context of organizational environment factors in the model developed by M. Leiter. This model addresses the following factors: workload, sense of control, rewards, community support, sense of fairness and values. Presented here are the results of a study conducted in penitentiary units among working individuals serving sentences of imprisonment. The obtained results indicate that the knowledge of organizational factors responsible for the social climate of the workplace may be meaningful for the effectiveness of the process of social readaptation of convicts working there.

The main aim of this study was to develop a short questionnaire to assess work-related well-being from the organizational behaviour perspective. The short well-being questionnaire enables measuring longitudinal work-related well-being. Work-related well-being was assessed with a 147-item questionnaire covering both organizational and intrinsic factors of work-related well-being. The questionnaire consisted of 27 categories. The respondents were 114 women (65%) and 62 men (35%), mean age 39.2 years, in various occupations. From the extensive questionnaire a shorter questionnaire with 33 items was developed by principal component analysis. The Kaiser–Meyer–Olkin measure to test the sampling adequacy of 27 factor solutions varied from .62 to .91 and Cronbachʼs α was .74–.94. Most κ values of the shorter questionnaire were .50–.94 (p < .001). The reliability of the short version was comparable to that of the original questionnaire. The short one could also be suitable for Internet and mobile questionnaire applications.

This was a cross-sectional study which looked into the interaction between situational factors, role stressors, hazard exposure and personal factors among 135 nurses in the Philippine General Hospital. More than half (58.5%) of the respondents reported being ill due to work in the past year, and 59.3% missed work because of an illness. Regression showed factors associated with burnout were organizational role stress, hazard exposure, self-efficacy, age, number of working years, illness in the past 12 months, migraine, dizziness, sleep disorder, cough and colds, and diarrhea. After multiple regression analysis, organizational role stress (p = .000), migraine (p = .001), age (p = .018) and illness in the past 12 months (p = .000) were found to be significant predictors of burnout. The contribution of the study is in advancing new concepts in the already existing framework of burnout, and thus, assisting nurses and hospital administration in on controlling this problem.

This article deals with two subjects which form an inevitable part of the discussion on Czech basic schools. First, there is school development from the inside, individual and group learning and organizational development in schools. Second, there is the double task of Czech basic schools to provide pupils with primary and, subsequently, lower secondary education. The aim of the analysis is to compare evidence given by teachers at the primary and lower secondary levels of basic schools about processes which create the dimensions of a professional learning community. Analysis of the data obtained from this research, which was carried out in Czech basic schools, leads to the conclusion that despite a relatively large conformity in the adult actors’ perception of systematicity in handling the subjects of learning, this perception cannot be considered homogeneous.

The paper examines the role of cultural factors in economic analyses. It aims to identify and examine areas in which economic analysis takes into account cultural factors that play a role in business. The first part of the paper lists arguments on why economic research should be more sensitive to cultural factors. This primarily results from the fact that economics, like all other areas of human endeavor, is part of global culture, Kostra writes. The second part of the article describes the aspects of culture that are closely related to socioeconomic life. It discusses the idea of economic culture, or value systems linked with business, knowledge and models of behavior. The author also reviews research achievements in this area. The analysis takes into account the results of studies carried out by researchers such as Geert Hofstede, Richard Gesteland, Lawrence Harrison, and Mariano Grondona. Another related notion that is examined in this part of the paper is organizational culture. The third part of the paper deals with the achievements of institutional economics and shows links and relationships between cultural and social institutions. The author sets out to determine if the role of cultural factors in economic processes will decrease as globalization gains momentum. He concludes that despite the convergence of economic systems around the world, based on the emergence of a universal system of values, beliefs and attitudes, cultural differences continue to exist. This largely explains why some countries still hold an advantage over others, Kostro notes.

The article is devoted to identifying external and internal factors that shape inter-organizational trust in e-commerce. Studying how trust between e-commerce partners is built, four key B2B trust spheres were analyzed based on literature. After analyzing thirteen research reports, the factors shaping B2B trust are presented due to their frequency of occurrence in the reports. Research has shown that among the many factors determining B2B trust, the greatest value in interactions between e-commerce partners lies in the factors, i.e.: „common values”, „communication”, „experience and qualifications”.
Artykuł poświęcony jest zidentyfikowaniu czynników zewnętrznych i wewnętrznych, które kształtują zaufanie międzyorganizacyjne w handlu elektronicznym. Badając, w jaki sposób budowane jest zaufanie pomiędzy partnerami e-handlu, w oparciu o literaturę, przyjrzano się również czterem, kluczowym sferom zaufania B2B w świetle definicyjnym. Po przeanalizowaniu trzynastu raportów badawczych, przedstawiono czynniki kształtowania zaufania B2B, ze względu na częstotliwość ich występowania w raportach. Badania pokazały, że spośród wielu czynników determinujących zaufanie B2B, największa wartość w interakcjach między partnerami e-handlu, leży po stronie czynników, tj. „wspólne wartości”, „komunikacja”, „doświadczenie i kwalifikacje”.
