    Opis:
    Polish Livonia is the most culturally diverse region in Latvia. Many organizations which work here, they try to uphold the traditions of national minorities. In the article discusses the organizational activities of the Polish minority in Latgale region. The study also shows the educational activities of Poles in the Republic of Latvia. In the research used a sociological method of in-depth interviews with the leaders of Polish organizations. The purpose of the interviews was to know the opinion of the most active and the most competent group of activists.
    Inflanty Polskie stanowią najbardziej zróżnicowany kulturowo region Łotwy. Działa tu wiele organizacji, starających się podtrzymać tradycje mniejszości narodowych. W artykule omówiono działalność organizacyjną mniejszości polskiej w Łatgalii. Ukazano także działalność oświatową Polaków w Republice Łotewskiej. W badaniach wykorzystano socjologiczną metodę wywiadów pogłębionych z liderami organizacji polskich. Celem wywiadów było poznanie opinii najaktywniejszej, a jednocześnie najbardziej kompetentnej grupy działaczy.

    Opis:
    The article shows an evolutionary process of Polish Christian national movement. Presentation of the full picture of the issue in question required the use of historical, behavioral and decision-making methods. Throughout discussed time-frame (1885–1945), we can highlight four distinct periods. During each of these periods, national organizations were affected in different ways – both internally and externally. The first period is the time of Partitioned Poland (1885–1918). Afterwards comes the time of the democratic Second Republic (1918–1926). Next one is Poland under the authoritarian regime (1926–1939) and lastly, the underground activity period (1939–1945). Acting in a multidimensional way (in social, political and military terms), the Polish Christian national movement has evolved organizationally and ideologically many times as a result of various historical events.
    Artykuł ma na celu zaprezentowanie ewolucji polskiego chrześcijańskiego ruchu narodowego. Ukazanie pełnego obrazu tytułowej tematyki wymagało wykorzystania metod historycznych, behawioralnej oraz decyzyjnej. W prezentowanych latach możemy wyróżnić cztery okresy funkcjonowania ruchu, zgodnie z którymi został podzielony artykuł. Każdy z nich charakteryzuje się odmiennymi warunkami wewnętrznymi oraz zewnętrznymi wpływającymi na działania organizacji narodowych. Pierwszy to okres funkcjonowania narodowców w czasach zaborów (lata 1885‒1918). Następnie zaprezentowano działania w warunkach niepodległej demokratycznej II Rzeczypospolitej (lata 1918‒1926). Kolejny etap to działalność w warunkach autorytaryzmu (lata 1926‒1939) oraz okres działalności konspiracyjnej (lata 1939‒1945). Działając wielowymiarowo, zarówno społecznie, politycznie, jak i militarnie, polski chrześcijański ruch narodowy wielokrotnie ewoluował organizacyjnie oraz ideologicznie w wyniku różnorodnych wydarzeń historycznych.

    Artykuł poświęcony jest jednemu z zasłużonych polskich uczonych i nauczycieli akademickich, Stanisławowi Franciszkowi Tyncowi. W jego biografii naukowej i zawodowej należy wyróżnić dwa okresy: międzywojenny i powojenny. W tekście skoncentrowano się na ukazaniu jego działalności dotyczącej rozwoju historii wychowania po II wojnie światowej. Wówczas był on nauczycielem akademickim w Uniwersytecie Wrocławskim. W prezentowanej refleksji skupiono się na omówieniu jego aktywności naukowo-organizacyjnej i dydaktycznej związanej z nauczaniem historii wychowania. Naszkicowano jego zasługi w kształceniu młodej kadry naukowej. Zasygnalizowano także zagadnienie udziału Tynca w życiu naukowym środowiska historyków wychowania. Artykuł opracowano wykorzystując głównie materiały archiwalne znajdujące się w Archiwum Polskiej Akademii Nauk w Warszawie, Archiwum Uniwersytetu Jagiellońskiego oraz Archiwum Uniwersytetu Wrocławskiego. Dla omówienia podjętego tematu istotna okazała się korespondencja, recenzje i opinie autorstwa Tynca oraz dokumentacja jego działalności dydaktycznej. Ze źródeł tych można odczytać jego zasługi w rozwoju środowiska naukowego historyków wychowania oraz zrekonstruować zagadnienia nauczania historii wychowania.
    The article is devoted to one of the most distinguished Polish scholars and academic teachers, Stanisław Franciszek Tync. In his academic and professional biography, two periods should be distinguished: the interwar period and the postwar period. The text focuses on a presentation of his activities concerning the development of the history of education after the Second World War. At that time, he was an academic teacher at the University of Wrocław. The presented reflection focuses on the discussion of his scientific, organizational, and didactic activity related to teaching the history of education. His merits in educating young scientific staff are also outlined. The issue of Tync’s participation in the scientific life of historians of education is also discussed. The article was prepared using mainly archival materials from the Archives of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw, Archives of the Jagiellonian University, Archives of the University of Wrocław. The correspondence, reviews, and opinions of Tync, as well as the documentation of his didactic activity, turned out to be crucial for any discussion of the topic. From these sources, we can read Tync’s contribution to the development of the scientific community of educational historians and reconstruct the issues of teaching the history of education.

    The relevance of the survey is due to the need to understand the role of the manager of a higher education institution in conditions of uncertainty against the background of socio-economic crises, when the organizational culture of the management of an educational institution is being formed. Large-scale transformations in all spheres of life are outlined, which drive the economy, science, culture, education, industry and lead to the development of innovative approaches to the formation of organizational culture, based on the need to use professionalism and deeper experience of professional managers of higher education institutions. The article highlights the essence and conceptual and terminological apparatus of the researched topic. The content of the concepts “organizational culture” and “innovative management” is considered. The article highlights the issues of organizational culture as a tool for increasing the competitiveness of the institution in the system of higher education. The essence of organizational culture in a higher education institution is considered and revealed. The relevance of the study of organizational culture is connected with the fact that knowledge of the characteristics of the organizational culture of a higher education institution will allow to assess the degree of its stability, predict possible directions of management decisions, and also contribute to the achievement of planned results. The article focuses on the fact that the success of a higher education institution is directly linked to its culture. After all, the main indicator of a good state of affairs in a higher education institution is the ability to attract and retain talented employees. The impact of organizational culture on various aspects of higher education institution activities, which are considered by a number of sciences, such as personnel management, economics and sociology of work, organization theory, strategic management, management psychology, management sociology, is singled out. In the article, it is determined that organizational culture in an educational institution is formed under the influence of management consulting. The essence of consulting activity in a higher education institution is considered and disclosed. The main functions of consulting in institutions of higher education, which contribute to the qualitative formation of organizational culture in the institution of higher education, are highlighted. Content aspects of the process of modeling organizational culture in a higher education institution are highlighted. Emphasis is placed on the components of the model based on the application of modern principles and innovations for the perspective development of the higher education system and assistance in providing higher education institutions with highly qualified personnel. An analysis of the theoretical foundations and classification identification of the design of consulting activities in a higher education institution as a tool for the formation of organizational culture is carried out. The difficulties and contradictions inherent in the formation of the organizational environment of a higher education institution are considered.

    Artykuł przedstawia specyficzną naturę prawa gospodarczego Ukrainy, w szczególności zaś prawa dotyczącego spółek komercyjnych. Autor opisuje współczesną legislację Ukrainy, charakteryzuje, odpowiednio, organizacyjno-prawne formy prowadzenia działalności gospodarczej, w tym te, które są uważane za optymalne dla inwestorów zagranicznych, także tych, którzy działają we współpracy z przedsiębiorcami ukraińskimi. Ponadto dokładnie przeanalizowane są regulacje organizacyjno‑prawne dotyczące obowiązkowego zarejestrowania przedsiębiorstw gospodarczych. Oddzielną część artykułu autor poświęca wybranym aspektom ukraińskiego prawa podatkowego, prawom dotyczącym zatrudnienia i zamieszkania, przyznając również, że istnieją niebezpieczeństwa dla inwestorów zagranicznych, między innymi naglący problem „drapieżnego inwestowania”, tj. nielegalnego i wrogiego przejmowania funkcjonujących spółek i bezradność systemu prawnego, jeśli chodzi o ochronę przedsiębiorstw na Ukrainie. Zakres artykułu nie pozwala na szersze spojrzenie na problematykę związaną z działalnością gospodarczą na Ukrainie, natomiast krótko opisane są pragmatyczne korzyści i niebezpieczeństwa związane z inwestowaniem w biznes na Ukrainie.
    The article presents the specific nature of the economic law of Ukraine, in particular the laws concerning commercial companies. The author delineates the modern day economic legislation of Ukraine, characterizes respective organizational-legal forms of conducting economic activity, including those which are considered most optimal for foreign investors and which operate also in cooperation with Ukrainian entrepreneurs. Additionally, the organizational-legal regulations on obligatory state registration of economic enterprises are analyzed in detail. A separate portion of the article is devoted to selected aspects of Ukrainian tax law, employment laws, and residency laws, acknowledging also the dangers awaiting foreign investors, among others the pressing problem of “corporate raiding” i.e. illegal and hostile takeovers of the functioning companies, and the helplessness of the juristic system when it comes to protection of enterprises in the Ukraine. The scope of the article does not allow a broader view on the issues related to economic activity in the Ukraine, instead it attempts to encapsulate pragmatic benefits and dangers concerning business investments sin the Ukraine.

    Well known to students of St. Thomas Aquinas is that he maintained that the whole of a science is contained in its principles and that its principles are contained in its defini-tions. The author takes as his point of departure for this article a definition of money that he gave in the article he wrote for the 2019 Aquinas School of Leadership’s School of Economics inaugural issue for the Studia Gilsoniana: “Aristotle and Aquinas on the Virtue of Money as a Preservative of Justice in Business Affairs and States.” According to him, as a species of economic activity, the definition of money must contain what A-quinas considered to be his generic definition of the science of economics and the es-sential principles he thought this definition contains. The present article he writes is an attempt to unpack some implications contained in St. Thomas’s generic definition of the science of economics of which money is a species.

    Opis:
    The article regards the formation of enterprise’s organizational management systems in the context of the information economy. It defines and identifies changes in the development of principles for the organization of management system. The authors analyze evolutionary changes in business activity as well as features of new business forms. The main classical directions of improving organizational management systems in postindustrial society are presented.
    Artykuł poświęcony jest problemom tworzenia organizacyjnych systemów zarządzania przedsiębiorstwem w kontekście gospodarki opartej na informacji. Zostały w nim zdefiniowane i zidentyfikowane zmiany dotyczące zasad organizacji systemu zarządzania. Autorzy dokonali analizy zarówno zmian ewolucyjnych w działalności gospodarczej, jak i cech charakterystycznych dla nowych form działalności. Przedstawiono również główne klasyczne kierunki poprawy systemu zarządzania organizacjami w społeczeństwie postindustrialnym.

Autor koncentruje rozważania na prawnych zagadnieniach dopuszczenia przez ustawodawcę możliwości prowadzenia działalności gospodarczej przez te jednostki, co budzi wiele wątpliwości nie tylko natury prawnej.
    The paper brings up the legal aspects of taking up and performing the business activity by the local governments. The aim of the author is to give answers to the following questions: — what has the legislative authority meant by the idea of "business activity" taken up by local governments: what differs it from the business activity performed by a commercial entities and under what legal regulations local governments have been authorized to perform such activities, — what's the acceptable range of business activities performed by local governments, with particular consideration of criteria which differentiate business activity in the field of public utilities and commercial activities, — in what legal-organizational forms may local governments perform business activity?

    Opis:
    This study is devoted to the issue of the legal limitation of the entrepreneur’s ability to run a business. The study attempts to show what economic activity is, what is its scope and subject matter, and what may be the consequences of the prohibition of conducting business activity against an entrepreneur who is respectively: a natural person, a legal person or an organizational unit without legal personality, and having legal capacity. Depending on the legal status of the entrepreneur, the adjudicated ban on running a business (irrespective of its basis) may give rise to various consequences of an existential nature of the entrepreneur.
    Niniejszy artykuł dotyczy zagadnienia prawnej limitacji możliwości prowadzenia działalności gospodarczej przez przedsiębiorcę. W opracowaniu starano się przybliżyć, czym jest działalność gospodarcza, jaki jest jej zakres przedmiotowy i podmiotowy, a także jakie mogą być konsekwencje orzeczenia zakazu prowadzenia działalności gospodarczej względem przedsiębiorcy, który jest odpowiednio: osobą fizyczną, osobą prawną lub jednostką organizacyjną nieposiadającą osobowości prawnej, a mającą zdolność do czynności prawnej. W zależności od statusu prawnego przedsiębiorcy, orzeczony zakaz prowadzenia działalności gospodarczej (bez względu na jego podstawę zastosowania) może rodzić różne konsekwencje natury egzystencjalnej po stronie przedsiębiorcy.
