Opis:
Periodic orbits play a fundamental role in the study and deep understanding of the behavior of dynamical systems. In the current work, we investigated the periodic orbits around the triangular libration points of the restricted three-body problem. The equations of motion of the restricted problem are presented when both primaries are prolate triaxial. Periodic orbits around the triangular points are obtained and then illustrated graphically for some selected initial conditions and for the entire domain of the mass ratio µ, as well. The eccentricities of the periodic orbits are obtained and then represented graphically. It is observed that the periodic orbits about the triangular stationary points are elliptical, and the frequencies of short and long orbits of the periodic motion are influenced by the shape of the primary bodies. Furthermore, we found that the perturbing forces influence the period, the orientation, and the eccentricities of the short and long periodic orbits.

Opis:
A magnetic field applied to a crystalline solid causes the electron states on the Fermi surface to circulate along the orbits located on the planes normal to the applied field. For a sufficiently weak field the separate orbits can cover the whole closed Fermi surface. A suitable parameterization of the states on the orbits should be done in a different way than a conventional parameterization applied for the electron states by Bloch. This new kind of parameterization becomes quite simple when the magnetic field is assumed to be directed parallel to one of the crystallographic axes. Computationally, a new description of the electron states on the Fermi surface becomes on many occasions more flexible in its use than the Bloch's one. The simplifications concern mainly an examination of the curvature parameters of the Fermi surface and extremal properties of the electron observables, for example that of electron velocity. Solely the states in the cubic crystal lattices were considered as examples.

The authors propose a set of rehabilitation exercises concerning the muscles which are responsible for movement of the eyeball. After surgical treatments of retrobulbar tumors, the function of the eyeball muscles is often inadequate. Some compensation should be created at the level of the central nervous system, which means trigging adaptation, substitution and habituation. The exercises should be started just after the patient is awakened: first in the horizontal position, then sitting position and finally standing position. The highest number of exercises should be done in the direction of extreme diplopia

Opis:
The concept of symmetry was introduced already by the ancient Greeks in relation to spatial (geometric) systems. They understood it as commensurability and proportionality and linked it with the aesthetic categories of harmony and beauty. A spatial system (object) was considered symmetric if it consisted of regular, repeatable parts of comparable size, creating a coordinated, ordered, larger whole. Only two thousand years later, in the twentieth century, the essence of the concept of symmetry was identified. Symmetry is invariance (stability, durability, constancy) of a feature (geometric, physical, biological, informational, etc.) of an object (an object can here be a geometric system, a material thing, but also a natural phenomenon, physical law, social relation, etc.) after subjecting it to a set of transformations (transformations can be shifts, reflections, rotations, permutations, etc.), with respect to which symmetry is considered. The above observation led to the discovery of the universal nature of the concept of symmetry, which in a broader sense can be understood as a philosophical category, one of the fundamental regularities of mathematical character in the organization of the Universe. The contemporary understanding of symmetry has led to significant and nonobvious conclusions. For example, it turned out that the invariance (symmetry) of the laws of motion with respect to the shift in time is equivalent to the necessity of the existence of the principle of conservation of energy, the invariance (symmetry) of the laws of motion with respect to the shift in physical space proves to be equivalent to the existence of the principle of conservation of momentum. The Report provides an outline of the general formal language of symmetry applicable to the study of any situation in which this concept appears. The key elements of the mathematical apparatus of the algebraic theory of symmetry are defined and discussed, the notions of Γ-sets, orbits, orbital markers, invariants, and invariant functions. They provide versatile tools enabling the analysis of all types of symmetries. The Report concisely presents important results of the theory of symmetry, such as: the ornament principle – expressing the most straightforwardly the innermost property of complex symmetrical objects, the representation theorem for symmetric objects, the theorem on the symmetry of causes and effects of physical laws, the theorem on invariant extension of any function.

Opis:
In order to check the validity of parameterization of electron states on the Fermi surfaces developed in the preceding paper, this parameterization is applied to the calculation of some definite crystal properties. The first property is the density of electron states versus energy in simple cubic and body-centered cubic crystal lattices, examined formerly on the basis of the Bloch parameterization of electron states by Jelitto; the other property is the length of some special arcs extended on the surfaces. The parameterizations of both approaches, that of the present paper and that developer on the basis of the Bloch states, are found to give results remaining in remarkable agreement.

In this paper, we discuss traveling wave solutions for equations that model nonlinear media with diffusion. Such solutions can also describe, for example, the propagation of heteroclinic fronts or impulses (medium excitations). We present several examples of processes in which the notion of a traveling wave captures the essence of the analytical phenomena, including plasma sustained by a laser beam, phase transitions in van der Waals fluids, skin morphogenesis, and the DNA-RNA transcription process.
