Opis:
Under the bad sea conditions and weak Beidou navigation signal environment, it is difficult to locate the ship on the sea, and the Beidou navigation system can’t work well. Beidou pseudolite system can improve the performance of Beidou navigation system as a navigation signal transmitter fixed on the ground, the signal of which can improve satellite positioning constellation structure, and improve the system availability reliability and precision. In order to ensure the interoperability and non-correlation of the Beidou pseudolite and the Beidou navigation system, the pseudolite ranging-codes should be selected in the same code space of the satellite ranging-codes and the residual pseudo random code generated by the 2 taps design scheme does not satisfy the performance requirements of the ranging-codes. To solve this issue, a combined design scheme with 3 taps is proposed, and 12 kinds of pseudolite ranging-codes are optimally selected according to the optimum design parameters of ranging-codes. The waveform and correlation of the selected pseudolite ranging-codes are analyzed by MATLAB, the acquisition simulation is carried out by using the new pseudolite ranging-codes. The experimental results show that the new 3-taps based ranging codes design scheme behaves a good balance, correlation and spectral characteristics.

Reduction of the Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) in multilevel inverters requires resolution of complex nonlinear transcendental equations; in this paper we propose a combination of one of the best existing optimized hardware structures with the recent firefly algorithm, which was used to optimize the THD, through finding the best switching angles and guaranteeing the minimization of harmonics within a user defined bandwidth. The obtained THD through the simulation of the thirteen-level symmetric inverter has been reduced down to 5% (FFT of 60 harmonics). In order to validate the simulation results, a thirteen-level symmetric inverter prototype has been made, and practically experimented and tested with different loads. Consequently, the measured THD with resistive load was 4.7% on a bandwidth of 3 kHz. The main advantage of the achieved work is the reduction of the THD.

In this article, an optimized PID controller for a fuel cell is introduced. It should be noted that we did not compute the PID controller’s coefficients based on trial-and-error method; instead, imperialist competitive algorithms have been considered. At first, the problem will be formulated as an optimization problem and solved by the mentioned algorithm, and optimized results will be obtained for PID coefficients. Then one of the important kinds of fuel cells, called proton exchange membrane fuel cell, is introduced. In order to control the voltage of this fuel cell during the changes in the charges, an optimal controller is introduced, based on the imperialist competitive algorithm. In order to apply this algorithm, the problem is written as an optimization problem which includes objectives and constraints. To achieve the most desirable controller, this algorithm is used for problem solving. Simulations confirm the better performance of proposed PID controller.

Vacant frequency bands are used in cognitive radio (CR) by incorporating the spectrum sensing (SS) technique. Spectrum sharing plays a central role in ensuring the effectiveness of CR applications. Therefore, a new multi-stage detector for robust signal and spectrum sensing applications is introduced here. Initially, the sampled signal is subjected to SNR estimation by using a convolutional neural network (CNN). Next, the detection strategy is selected in accordance with the predicted SNR levels of the received signal. Energy detector (ED) and singular value-based detector (SVD) are the solutions utilized in the event of high SNR, whilst refined non-negative matrix factorization (MNMF) is employed in the case of low SNR. CNN weights are chosen via the Levy updated sea lion optimization (LU-SLNO) algorithm inspired by the traditional sea lion optimization (SLNO) approach. Finally, the outcomes of the selected detectors are added, offering a precise decision on spectrum tenancy and existence of the signal.

In this paper, a modified sound quality evaluation (SQE) model is developed based on combination of an optimized artificial neural network (ANN) and the wavelet packet transform (WPT). The presented SQE model is a signal processing technique, which can be implemented in current microphones for predicting the sound quality. The proposed method extracts objective psychoacoustic metrics including loudness, sharpness, roughness, and tonality from sound samples, by using a special selection of multi-level nodes of the WPT combined with a trained ANN. The model is optimized using the particle swarm optimization (PSO) and the back propagation (BP) algorithms. The obtained results reveal that the proposed model shows the lowest mean square error and the highest correlation with human perception while it has the lowest computational cost compared to those of the other models and software.

Opis:
The future Internet of Things (IoT) era is anticipated to support computation-intensive and time-critical applications using edge computing for mobile (MEC), which is regarded as promising technique. However, the transmitting uplink performance will be highly impacted by the hostile wireless channel, the low bandwidth, and the low transmission power of IoT devices. Using edge computing for mobile (MEC) to offload tasks becomes a crucial technology to reduce service latency for computation-intensive applications and reduce the computational workloads of mobile devices. Under the restrictions of computation latency and cloud computing capacity, our goal is to reduce the overall energy consumption of all users, including transmission energy and local computation energy. In this article, the Deep Q Network Algorithm (DQNA) to deal with the data rates with respect to the user base in different time slots of 5G NOMA network. The DQNA is optimized by considering more number of cell structures like 2, 4, 6 and 8. Therefore, the DQNA provides the optimal distribution of power among all 3 users in the 5G network, which gives the increased data rates. The existing various power distribution algorithms like frequent pattern (FP), weighted least squares mean error weighted least squares mean error (WLSME), and Random Power and Maximal Power allocation are used to justify the proposed DQNA technique. The proposed technique which gives 81.6% more the data rates when increased the cell structure to 8. Thus 25% more in comparison to other algorithms like FP, WLSME Random Power and Maximal Power allocation.

Opis:
A new fast energy efficient learning algorithm suitable for hardware implemented Kohonen Self-Organizing Map (SOM) is proposed in the paper. The new technique is based on a multistage filtering of the quantization error. The algorithm detects such periods in the learning process, in which the quantization error is decreasing (the ‘activity’ phases), which can be interpreted as a progress in training, as well as the ‘stagnation’ phases, in which the error does not decrease. The neighborhood radius is reduced by 1 always just after the training process enters one of the ‘stagnation’ phases, thus shortening this phase. The comprehensive simulations on the software model (in C++) have been carried out to investigate the influence of the proposed algorithm on the learning process. The learning process has been assessed by the used of five criteria, which allow assessing the learning algorithm in two different ways i.e., by expressing the quality of the vector quantization, as well as the topographic mapping. The new algorithm is able to shorten the overall training process by more than 90% thus reducing the energy consumed by the SOM also by 90%. The proposed training algorithm is to be used in a new high performance Neuroprocessor that will find a broad application in a new generation of Wireless Body Area Networks ( WBAN) used in the monitoring of the biomedical signals like, for example, the Electrocardiogram (ECG) signals.

Patch substructuring methods are non-overlapping domain decomposition methods like classical substructuring methods, but they use information from geometric patches reaching into neighboring subdomains, condensated on the interfaces, to enhance the performance of the method, while keeping it non-overlapping. These methods are very convenient to use in practice, but their convergence properties have not been studied yet. We analyze geometric patch substructuring methods for the special case of one patch per interface. We show that this method is equivalent to an overlapping Schwarz method using Neumann transmission conditions. This equivalence is obtained by first studying a new, algebraic patch method, which is equivalent to the classical Schwarz method with Dirichlet transmission conditions and an overlap corresponding to the size of the patches. Our results motivate a new method, the Robin patch method, which is a linear combination of the algebraic and the geometric one, and can be interpreted as an optimized Schwarz method with Robin transmission conditions. This new method has a significantly faster convergence rate than both the algebraic and the geometric one. We complement our results by numerical experiments.

Opis:
Installations and the detection of their faults has become a major challenge. In order to develop a reliable approach for monitoring and diagnosis faults of these components, a test rig was mounted. In this article, a Multi Layer Perceptron (MLP) Artificial Neural Network (ANN) has been structured and optimized for online monitoring of induction motors. The input layer of our ANN used eight indicators calculated from the collected time signals and which represent the different states of the motor (Healthy, broken rotor bars, bearing fault and Misalignment) and the output layer used a codified matrix. However, based on L27 Taguchi design, the architecture for the hidden layers of our network is chosen, with the use of the LevenbergMarquardt learning algorithm. Garson's algorithm and connection weight approach showed that there's a great sensitivity of the crest factor, the kurtosis and the variance on the effectiveness of our diagnostic system. Consequently, the obtained results are capable of detecting faults in the induction motor under different operating conditions.

Rapid expansion of 5G affects a number of sectors, including vehicular communications relying on cooperative intelligent transportation systems (C-ITS). More specifically, in the context of the Internet of Vehicles (IoV), a particular emphasis is placed on modern cellular V2X (C-V2X) technologies aiming to further improve road safety. This work originates from the detailed scope of the ongoing 5G-DRIVE research project promoting cooperation between the EU and China, with the aim of demonstrating IoV services that rely on vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) communications. With the C-V2X approach serving as a point of departure, we analyze and describe a specific green light-optimized speed advisory (GLOSA) use case, for which we provide a detailed descriptive framework, a proposed architectural framework for trials, as well as specific KPIs for the joint assessment of trials between the EU and China. We also discuss the context for performance test procedures to be conducted as part of the intended trials. GLOSA provides end-users with short-term information on upcoming traffic light status to optimize traffic flows, help prevent speed limit violations, improve fuel efficiency, and reduce pollution.

W artykule scharakteryzowano możliwości zastosowania Zoptymalizowanego Algorytmu Multikomparacyjnego (ZAM) do klasyfikacji sygnałów emisji akustycznej (EA) generowanej przez podstawowe formy (klasy) wyładowań niezupełnych (WNZ), jakie mogą występować w izolacji papierowo-olejowej transformatorów elektroenergetycznych. W algorytmie ZAM zastosowano deskryptor czasowo-częstotliwościowy z optymalnie dobranymi parametrami w dziedzinie czasu i częstotliwości.
In the paper application is described of the optimized multi-comparational and classic multi-comparational algorithms for classification of acoustic emission (AE) signals generated by the basic forms of partial discharges (PDs) which can occur in of paper-oil insulation systems of power transformers. This is a new implementation of the classical multi-comparational algorithm. The optimized multi-comparational algorithm was especially designed for needs on classification of the AE methods and it is result of research works performed by authors of this paper. Implementation of a time-frequency descriptor into the optimized multi-computational algorithm has been proposed. It was demonstrated that both algorithms indicate high, over 95,95 %, classification efficiency.
