The paper deals with the optimization of production processes and the setting of criteria for reducing production costs. Any company is not just a leap in production, but a lean has to be gradually transferred to all its activities. This created the concept of a lean company first. The skill of an enterprise is to perform only the activities that are needed, to do them right for the first time, to make them faster than others and to spend less resources at the same time. The company's business is that the company does exactly what the customer wants, with a minimum number of activities that do not add value to the product or service. Every production process has issues to deal with. One of these problems is the issue of bottlenecks. It is possible to reveal them through the use of optimising models that are inseparable parts of every production process these days. This article discusses the revelation of these problems during the production process. As an example we have used the production of wooden constructions. It is possible to use mathematical models, which were produced and applied in MATHEMATICS 5 program, for the revelation of bottlenecks as well as for subsequent production planning with a view to avoiding their formation.
W każdym procesie produkcyjnym pojawiają się problemy, z którymi trzeba sobie poradzić. Jednym z tych problemów jest zagadnienie wąskich gardeł. Ich identyfikacja jest możliwa dzięki wykorzystaniu modeli optymalizacyjnych, będących obecnie nieodłącznymi elementami każdego procesu produkcyjnego. W niniejszym artykule omówiono identyfikację tych problemów już w trakcie procesu produkcyjnego. Za przykład posłużyła produkcja konstrukcji drewnianych. W celu identyfikacji wąskich gardeł, jak również planowania produkcji, w taki sposób aby ich uniknąć, możliwe jest wykorzystanie modeli matematycznych, które autorzy opracowali i zastosowali w środowisku programu MATHEMATICS 5.

Sustainable development is an very important idea nowadays and it influences on many factors. It is very important to focus on the goals of sustainable development and implement them both in industry and in everyday life. The aim of the article is to analyse the impact of implementing an automatic conveyor belt transport system between the stands of an exemplary assembly line on sustainable development in economic and environmental terms. The analyzed production process consists of one production line with six assembly stations. The efficiency of individual design solutions and electricity consumption were adopted as the evaluation criteria. To compare the two processes, a simulation analysis was performed in the Plant Simulation program. First chapter is the introduction to the article. The second chapter describes the current applications of simulation tests. The third chapter describes the production system that is improved by adding conveyors. The next chapter compares the processes with and without the use of conveyors and presents how much energy must be used additionally by imple-menting conveyor belts, but also what energy savings can be obtained by installing additional stop sensors. The fifth chapter presents the conclusions: the conducted research allowed concluding that the implementation of conveyor belts affects a higher number of finished products at the same time as the transport of components is manual. However, the best solution is to use conveyors with stop sensors, and the power consumption is then low and more profitable for the enterprise.

In most NATO countries, pilots are prepared in accordance with a modern system of three-stage training: selection, basic and advanced. For each phase, the purpose and scope of the training shall be defined and the aviation equipment together with training support systems should be appropriate selected. The practical training in the air is performed according to the parallelism of the training, which describes the technological relationships between the individual exercises. The purpose of this contribution is to propose a mathematical model which would enable the selection of exercises for each pilot, the appropriate selection of the aircraft and the moment of beginning of each exercise, so that all required exercises are carried out in the shortest possible time. Additionally, in this paper the concept of pilot’s habits and skills improvements is presented.

In the optimization process, changes in the construction parameters value influence the behaviour of functions depending on time. Weighting logical coefficients for the stabilisation time are taken into consideration here, i.e., a shorter (better) stabilisation time has a more important (bigger) value of the weighting coefficient. An example of applying weighting logical functions in the analysis of a degree of importance of construction parameters of a hydraulic valve is presented in the paper.

W artykule przedstawiono model zadania projektowego, polegającego na ustaleniu optymalnej liczby maszyn i środków transportu do zapewnienia ciągłości betonowania konstrukcji monolitycznej. Model ten wraz z arkuszem kalkulacyjnym pozwala optymalizować czas i koszty realizacji robót betonowych na wydzielonym froncie robót (przygotowanej do betonowania sekcji). Do rozwiązania zadania optymalizacyjnego proponuje się wykorzystanie algorytmu ewolucyjnego, bądź symulacji komputerowej.
The article presents a model of project task that can rule an optimal quantity of machines and transports to provide continuity concreting of monolith construction. This model with a spreadsheet program allows optimizing time and cost of concrete works realization on single out front works (section prepares to concrete). For the solution of task we suggest to take an evolutionary algorithm or computer simulation.

The ontic conception of explanation is predicated on the proposition that “explanation is a relation between real objects in the world” and hence, according to this approach, scientific explanation cannot take place absent such a premise. Despite the fact that critics have emphasized several drawbacks of the ontic conception, as for example its inability to address the so-called “abstract explanations”, the debate is not settled and the ontic view can claim to capture cases of explanation that are non-abstract, such as causal relations between events. However, by eliminating the distinction between abstract and non-abstract explanations, it follows that ontic and epistemic proposals can no longer contend to capture different cases of explanation and either all are captured by the ontic view or all are captured by the epistemic view. On closer inspection, it turns out that the ontic view deals with events that fall outside the scientists’ scope of observation and that it does not accommodate common instances of explanation such as explanations from false propositions and hence it cannot establish itself as the dominant philosophical stance with respect to explanation. On the contrary, the epistemic conception does account for almost all episodes of explanation and can be described as a relation between representations, whereby the explanans transmit information to the explanandum and that this information can come, dependent on context, in the form of any of the available theories of explanation (law-like, unificatory, causal and non-causal). The range of application of the ontic view thus is severely restricted to trivial cases of explanation that come through direct observation of the events involved in an explanation and explanation is to be mostly conceived epistemically.

The article deals with the problem of designing diagnostic systems. During this process it is possible to use sets of requirements which are very commonly used in the software area. The requirements may influence both on the set of possible solutions of diagnostic system as also on the set of criteria which will be used for evaluation of these solutions. Selecting an optimal solution is not an easy task, especially for given the nature of the diagnostic field. But this process can be improved by using expert system. Knowledge base of this system, which contains possible solutions of designed system can be recorded in the form of multimodal statement networks. During the inference process, it is possible to isolate some subset of preferred solutions. This process should be carry out based on available information about technical object, operational conditions and imposed project limitations. The received subset of solutions should be the basis for further analysis, which leads to get the final solution of a diagnostic system.
Artykuł opisuje problematykę projektowania systemów diagnostycznych. Zwrócono uwagę, że podczas przeprowadzania takiego procesu możliwe jest wykorzystanie zbiorów wymagań powszechnie stosowanych w obszarze inżynierii oprogramowania. Wymagania mogą mieć wpływ zarówno na postać definiowanego zbioru możliwych rozwiązań projektowanego systemu, jak również na zbiór kryteriów, względem których rozwiązania te będą oceniane. Proces wyboru rozwiązania optymalnego z powodu specyfiki dziedziny jaką jest diagnostyka techniczna nie jest zadaniem łatwym. Może być on usprawniony poprzez wykorzystanie systemu doradczego. Baza wiedzy tego systemu zawierająca możliwe rozwiązania projektowanego systemu diagnostycznego może być zapisana pod postacią wielomodalnych sieci stwierdzeń. W wynik procesu wnioskowania na podstawie dostępnych informacji o obiekcie technicznym, warunkach jego pracy oraz narzuconych ograniczeniach projektowych wyodrębniany jest pewien podzbiór rozwiązań preferowanych. Są one podstawą dalszej analizy, w wyniku której opracowywany jest ostateczny projekt systemu diagnostycznego.

Od początku istnienia biotechnologii, jako mniej lub bardziej formalnie uznawanej dziedziny nauki, dużym zainteresowaniem badaczy cieszyły się grzyby, jako organizmy stosowane w biosyntezie i biotransformacjach różnego rodzaju substancji. Początkowo zainteresowanie dotyczyło jednak głównie gatunków grzybów zaliczanych nieformalnie do tzw. grzybów niższych. W biotechnologii farmaceutycznej przedstawiciele tej grupy, przykładowo, rodzajów Penicillium, Cephalosporium, Aspergillus lub Fusidium, są od dawna stosowani w produkcji antybiotyków, witamin, enzymów lub kwasów organicznych (cytrynowego, itakonowego, fusarowego, glukonowego). Drożdże z kolei są stosowane w technikach rekombinowanego DNA (produkcja insuliny) jako biorca transformowanego DNA. W przypadku tzw. grzybów wyższych, niejednorodnej pod względem systematycznym grupy grzybów, które tworzą owocniki, przez długi czas jedynym stosowanym procesem biotechnologicznym (obejmującym namnożenie inokulum, przygotowanie i sterylizację podłoża, inokulację, oraz hodowlę szczepu w określonych warunkach) była intensywna uprawa w podłożach stałych, dotycząca gatunków grzybów jadalnych.
This review article concisely describes methodology of biotechnological processes with the use of cultures of higher fungi, their application in bioremediation and to obtain biologically active preparations. Advantages and disadvantages of biotechnological methods used to cultivate mushrooms are analyzed. This paper contains overview of higher fungi species most commonly used in biotechnological processes, of cultivation methods applied to produce fungal biomass, of enzymes and bioactive metabolites and of the strategies for submerged cultivation of the mycelial cultures. The problems of optimization of strains and biotechnological processes are briefly discussed.

The digitalization of modern manufacturing systems has resulted to increasing data generation, also known as Big Data. Although there are several technologies and techniques under the term Data Analytics for gathering such data, their interpretation to information, and ultimately to knowledge remains in its infancy. Consequently, albeit engineers currently can monitor the factory level, optimization is cut off of the data acquisition, and is based on data related methodologies. The focus should be pivoted on designing and developing suitable frameworks for integrating Big Data to process optimization based on the context of information gathered from the shopfloor. This paper aims to investigate the opportunities and the gaps as well as the challenges arising in the current industrial landscape, towards the efficient utilization of Big Data, for process optimization based on the integration of semantics. To that end, a literature review is performed, and a data-based framework is presented.

W pracy przedstawiono problematykę dozowania materiałów ciekłych przy użyciu pomp dozujących. Podczas badań poszukiwano odpowiedzi na pytanie, jakie parametry, cechy i właściwości powinna mieć pompa dozująca oraz jakie parametry technologiczno-konstrukcyjne urządzeń dozujących są niezbędne do optymalnego dozowania substancji ciekłych. Analizowano membranowe pompy dozujące typu wyporowego. Na podstawie wyników badań stwierdzono prawie liniową zależność między wzrostem oporów przepływu a wydajnością pompy dozującej.
An issue dealing with liquid material dosage with the use dosage pumps is presented. During investigations the answers for such questions as: what parameters, features and properties should possess the dosing pump and what technological and constructional parameters of devices are necessary for optimal dosing of liquid substances, were sought. Membrane displacement pumps were analyzed. On basis of results obtained, a nearly linear dependence between the flow resistance and pump delivery was found.

The aim of the article was to present research on the application of information systems in optimizing warehouse processes. The theoretical aspects describing the fundamentals of warehouse processes were discussed. The theoretical foundations of information systems were also developed, with particular emphasis on systems used in warehouse processes. The results of conducted research among manufacturing organizations with complex warehouse processes were presented, which declared the implementation of ERP, WMS, and SCM systems. Based on the research findings, conclusions were drawn along with the direction of development in the area of digitizing warehouse processes.

A material model for strain rate and temperature dependent asymmetric plastic behavior accompanied by phase transformation induced plasticity (TRIP) as an important phenomenon in steel production and machining processes was developed. To this end the well-known Johnson-Cook flow stress model has been extended by the concept of weighting functions considering the asymmetric plastic material behavior under tensile, compressive and torsion load. Furthermore, the extended Johnson-Cook model has been combined with the Leblond approach regarding the ductility increase by transformation induced plasticity occurring during hard turning of AISI 52100. On the basis of the theoretical approach for calculating the flow stress with consideration of the viscoplastic asymmetry, a material routine for the FEM-software DEFORM has been implemented. The material and friction model coefficients have been determined in accordance with force and surface temperature measurements during hard turning of AISI 52100. The model takes the phase transformations between martensite and austenite and the influence of externally applied stress on the austenite start temperature into account.

In recent years, infections are more often caused by pathogens with high multi-drug resistance, classified as the “ESKAPE” microorganisms. Therefore, investigation of these pathogens, e.g., Klebsiella pneumoniae, often requires biomass production for treatment testing such as antibiotics or bacteriophages. Moreover, K. pneumoniae can be successfully applied as a biocatalyst for other industrial applications, increasing the need for this bacteria biomass. In the current study, we proposed a novel magnetically assisted bioreactor for the cultivation of K. pneumoniae cells in the presence of an external alternating magnetic field (AMF). High efficiency of the production requires optimal bacteria growth conditions, e.g., temperature and field frequency. Therefore, we performed an optimization procedure using a central composite design for these two parameters in a wide range. As an objective function, we utilized a novel, previously described growth factor that considers both biomass and bacteria growth kinetics. Thus, based on the response surface, we could specify the optimal growth conditions. Moreover, we analysed the impact of the AMF on bacteria proliferation, which indicated positive field frequency windows, where the highest stimulatory effect of AMF on bacteria proliferation occurred. Obtained results proved that the magnetically assisted bioreactor could be successfully employed for K. pneumoniae cultivation.

The definition of optimal shape and scope of blended learning trainings was one of the main aims of the presented article. The authoress was trying to find out 'what is the most optimal and efficient didactical process of the blended learning training concerned as a systemic element of reality'. As a result of holistic research, it was possible to distinguish some fundamental components of e-learning process (both in its fully online as well as in blended form) that guarantee its optimization i.e. identification how to ensure its efficiency and sustainability. There is also a presentation of the author's didactic model of blended learning trainings realization (including connection, correlations and sequence of online and traditional parts of training). This model was prepared as a result of research regarding the system theory approach to blended learning trainings.

There is presented the application of the integrated software tools to the operation and reliability of an exemplary complex technical system optimization. First using the computer program CP 8.9 there are determined the optimal limit transient probabilities of the exemplary system operation process at the particular operation states maximizing the system lifetime in the reliability states not worse than the critical reliability state and its optimal sojourn times at the particular operation states. Program CP 8.9 allows also for automatic evaluation of the exemplary system optimal unconditional multistate reliability function, the optimal expected values and standard deviations of its unconditional lifetimes in the reliability state subsets and the optimal mean values of its lifetimes in the particular reliability states. Moreover, in the case when the system is repairable, its optimal renewal and availability characteristics are obtained using the computer program CP 8.11.

Due to their properties, humic acids (HA) can interact with macro- and micronutrients and retain plant nutrients in the soil profile. The aim of the presented work was to develop a new integrated 4-step process for the isolation of humic acids from peat with their simultaneous enrichment in macronutrients. The study demonstrated the possibility of replacing traditional solutions used in the extraction of humic acids with solutions that are a source of macronutrients. For the alkaline extraction step, a process assisted with ultrasound was implemented, which allowed to increase the efficiency of humic acids isolation. Optimization of this step has shown that, with the application of ultrasound in the new procedure, it is possible to obtain the humic acids isolation efficiency of more than 60%. The qualitative analysis of the products obtained confirmed the presence of structures characteristic of humic acids, including key functional groups.

In today’s production and service systems, the management process plays a primary role. Analysis of the management process allows the detection of weaknesses and strengths in analyzed systems. This paper analyses production line management processes. For one literature example, a queuing model of a selected production line was built, and its performance and reliability were analyzed. The modelling attempt undertaken here was designed to determine whether queuing theory is suitable for modelling production line processes. Confirmation of this thesis would be a novelty in this field.

Listed features of methodical approach of holding experimental researches of cucumber and melon seed obtaining workflows to check and if necessary correct theoretical assumptions, arguments and conclusions. In the research was used plan Hartley for five three-level factorial plan with the number of experiments equal to 27, which in resolving problems associated with technical objects agricultural production, not previously used. The main optimization criteria, which conducted evaluation of quality of the process, were chosen the loss of seeds and seed purity.

Opis:
The article presents the essence of the method of value stream mapping on the example of a selected production process in an automotive company. The analysis presented in the paper concerned the indication of potential organizational possibilities of actions aimed at implementing changes in the organization based on the results of measuring the process with the use of the OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) indicator. All stages of the production process were explained, which allowed to obtain the results of the process efficiency analyses. Further on, the results of the analysis of process improvement in accordance with the PDCA approach are discussed. The significance of establishing the method in order to improve the functioning of the process and the meaning and usage of the value stream mapping methodology in building successful relations with the end customer were emphasized. The undertaken activities constitute a research gap defined as follows: the effectiveness of management methods in an organization depends on the efficiency of using the applied indicators and reacting to changes. Thus, defining models with potential application capabilities in order to increase management effectiveness is one of the most important issues in the area of enterprise organization.
