Opis:
In this article, synthesis, electronic and optical properties of an N-cyclohexyl-acrylamide (NCA) molecule are described based on different solvent environments and supported by theoretical calculations. Theoretical calculations have been carried out using a density function theory (DFT). Temperature dependence of the sample electrical resistance has been obtained by a four-point probe technique. Experimental and semitheoretical parameters such as optical density, transmittance, optical band gap, refractive index of the NCA for different solvents were obtained. Both optical values and electrical resistance values have shown that NCA is a semiconductor material. The values of HOMO and LUMO energy levels of the headline molecule indicate that it can be used as the electron transfer material in OLEDs. All results obtained confirm that the NCA is a candidate molecule for OLED and optoelectronic applications.

Opis:
Successive ionic layer adsorption and reaction (SILAR) technique was used to prepare (CdS) thin films on glass substrate, by changing the immersion time in thiourea solution. XRD patterns proved that the as deposited thin films were polycrystalline structure with an average crystallite size ranging from 14.1 nm to 5.6 nm depending on immersion time. The EDX confirm the existence of CdS. Scanning electron microscopy reveals that the deposited films have a nanorod structure.Atomic force microscopy has shown that the values of average roughness and the root mean square roughness increase upon increasing the immersion time. The transmittance spectra reveal that as the immersion time increase, the value of transmittance decrease.

Opis:
This study offers a new method to synthesize facilely willemite (Zn2 SiO4 ) based phosphor at the temperature of 800°C. The ZnO-SiO2 nanocomposite was calcined at different temperatures between 500 and 1000°C. The structural, morphological and optical properties of the nanocomposite obtained at various calcination temperatures were studied using different techniques. The FT-IR, XRD and the UV-vis result confirmed the formation of willemite phase. The precursor was confirmed to be amorphous by XRD at room temperature, but upon calcination temperature at 500°C, it was transformed into a crystalline structure. The crystallinity and the particle size of the nanocomposite increase as the calcination temperature were increased as revealed by XRD and TEM measurement. The sample exhibits a spherical morphology from 500 to 800°C and dumbbell-like morphology above 800°C as shown by the FESEM images. The absorption spectrum suffers intense in lower temperature and tends to shift to lower wavelength in the UV region as the calcination temperature increases. The band gap values were found to be increasing from 3.228-5.550 eV obtained between 500 to 1000°C, and all the results confirm the formation of willemite phase at 800°C.

Opis:
The objective of the presented study was to investigate the usefulness of transparent, sintered yttrium oxide for application as optical isolators, i.e., materials with high Verdet constant. The study utilizes the magneto-optical Faraday effect. To obtain yttrium oxide sinters, a commercial Y2O3 powder was applied, with LiF added to facilitate sintering. As a result of hot-press sintering and heating, transparent, dense sinters were obtained. The structure and morphology of the powders and bulk samples and the optical properties of the latter were investigated by means of X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, visible and near-infrared reflectance spectroscopy, and a study of magneto-optical (Faraday) effects. Measurements of the Faraday effect in the wavelength range of 500–1000 nm indicate high Verdet constants for the above-described materials, which means that they can be effectively applied in laser optics.

ZnO nanoparticles were synthesized by microemulsion route in W/S ratio of 5 at room temperature. X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern reveals wurtzite structure of ZnO nanoparticles. Rod shape of ZnO nanoparticles of average particle size 10.0 to 12.0 nm were observed by transmission electron microscopy. FT-IR spectra confirmed the adsorption of surfactant molecules at the surface of ZnO nanoparticles and presence of Zn-O bonding. Thermal studies were carried out by the differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) techniques. In addition, UV-Visible spectra were employed to estimate the band gap energy of ZnO nanoparticles.

Opis:
Thin films of bismuth oxide have been prepared utilizing vacuum evaporation. XRD anyalysis reveal that all the films were tetragonal polycrystalline structure with a preferred orientation along (002) plane. SEM images indicate that the grain size fall in the category of nanosize. AFM results assure that the nanonstructure behavior of thin films. Optical studies show that these films have a direct transition with optical energy gap equal to 2.5 eV.

Films of PEG after and before doped by carboxymethyle cellulose CMC were deposed on glass substrates by drop casting method. The absorbance and transmittance spectra have been recorded for all the deposited films in order to study the optical constants such as, refractive index, extinction coefficient, optical conductivity, real and imaginary parts of the dielectric constant, these additives effect all the parameters under study and enhance their value especially the optical absorption. The values of absorption coefficient refer to allowed direct transition.

Optical properties such as absorption coefficients, refractive indices, and extinction coefficients of pure polyvinyl-chloride (PVC) and DCM laser dye doped with PVC thin films where prepared using casting method have been determined in the range between 190-1100nm. Measurement have been performed in pure and doped (PVC). The direct electronic transition and indirect energy gaps were calculated using the behaver of absorption coefficient with wavelength. The direct energy gap was 3.9e.V for pure PVC and 2e.V for doped PVC, but indirect energy gap was 2.4e.V for pure PVC and 1.1e.V for doped. The phonon energy was 1.05e.V for pure PVC and was 0.55e.V for DCM doped with PVC thin film.

Cadmium oxide (CdO) thin films were formed by chemical spray pyrolysis technique for different substrate type (glass, quartz, ITO). Absorption spectra were recorded from UV-Visible spectrophotometer in the range of 300-900 nm. The absorbance increased when the glass substrate replaced to quartz or ITO substrate, also this behavior for absorption coefficient and extinction coefficient. While the refractive index tack unstable behavior. The energy gap decreased from 2.4 eV for CdO thin film deposited on glass substrate to 2.36 eV for CdO thin film deposited on ITO substrate.

Cadmium Sulfide and copper alloyed Cd1-xS Cux slims have been set up by the spray pyrolysis technique. The optical gap crevices at unadulterated and doped Cadmium Sulfide were observed to be shifted from (2.34 to 2.45) eV with increment x from (0 to 0.1). The X-beam diffraction (XRD) investigation uncovered that slims were polycrystalline and showed two phases cubic and hexagonal structure with increasing the hexagonal phase with increment Cu ratio.
