    The paper presents results of a questionnaire survey which aim was to find out English learners´ preferences of different platforms and applications to be used for home schooling.    Concept. Key attention of the authors is paid to the issue of the transition of face-to-face forms of education to online platforms, caused by school closures due to the coronavirus pandemic in 2020. At first, they deal with the use of digital technologies in teaching in general. They analyse how digital didactic means were used prior to the pandemic situation and they present research results related to differences among the ways of the use of these means within different subjects teaching (natural science subjects, technically oriented subjects, languages, social science subjects, artwork subjects). Consequently, the authors deal with the methodological aspects of the use of online forms in foreign language teaching.    Methodology. To find answer to such questions as which educational form, school education or home schooling, is more preferred by English learners, what are the strengths and weaknesses of home schooling, which foreign language skills are being practiced via online Zoom lessons,  which foreign language skills are being practiced via worksheets, or which mobile applications are used to enlarge students` vocabulary range, a questionnaire survey was carried out. Respondents of the survey were English learners, secondary vocational school students,,aged from 16 to 20 year-olds.    Results and conclusions. Based on the analysis of the data recorded from the learners` responses to the particular questionnaire items as the most significant three weaknesses of the home schooling were identified technical problems, more homework and lack of social contacts, while as the main strengths were found out home comfort, sufficient sleeping time and less dense timetable.

    W artykule omówiono badanie wyjaśniające, w jaki sposób okres pandemii wpłynął na uczucia nauczycieli, dzieci i nastolatków. Analizie poddano materiały narracji od wewnątrz, składające się ze słów, które opowiadają o tym, co się dzieje. W szczególności poprzez te materiały przedstawiono uczucia, jakich doświadczali uczniowie i nauczyciele w szkole w trakcie nauczania zdalnego. Słuszność tradycyjnych odniesień w pedagogice potwierdzają fundamentalne role bohaterów działań wychowawczych, nawet w okresie pandemii: nauczycieli i dzieci.
    This article presents an exploratory study about how the pandemic period impacted feelings of teachers, children and teens. We analyze the materials of a narrative from within, made up of words that tell of the experience as it happens. In particular, through these materials we present the feelings experienced by the students and the teachers at school in the DAD era. The validity of traditional references in pedagogy is confirmed by the fundamental roles of actors, i.e. teachers and students of educative action even in the pandemic period.

    Opis:
    This paper evaluates the affordability of Quipper as an online platform for teaching and learning English as a foreign language (EFL). It focuses on the extent to which features available in Quipper may correspond to fundamental components of Computer-Assisted Language Learning (CALL) pedagogy, as suggested by Chapelle (2003), including L2-input exposure, interaction and linguistic production. The evaluation results indicate that Quipper is affordable for use as an online teaching and learning EFL platform. More importantly, it corresponds to the three conditions of CALL pedagogy, thus making it a potential aid for activities used in teaching and learning foreign language.

    Concept. COVID-19 has pressed the need for social distancing that was unprecedentedly invoked across societies during the pandemic. The governments that launched emergency steps to divert physical learning systems into online pedagogical alternatives created critical possibilities and adverse challenges for both tutors and learners. The study aims to review several cases concluding that the closure of schools and colleges has impacted around 94% of the student population across globe. The present study tries to comprehend the transformation (both expansion and constraints) in the pedagogical processes comparing results and feedback from both developed and developing nations. Result and Discussion. The study made a far-reaching analysis on the sweeping impact of COVID-19 at the integrative three-tier educational level i.e., primary, secondary and higher education in two separate perspectives i.e., teachers and learners. The restrictive movement policies adopted by governments have changed the conventional (face-to-face) educational practices. The findings suggest that different populations faced different problems during the pandemic because of number of reasons which is discussed and highlighted in the study. Originality. In order to map efficacy and efficiency, the principles, difficulties, and praxis of online educational pedagogy have been comprehensively examined in the study. The key contribution of the research is the result claiming the potential of technology as well as the obstacles faced by students while learning, due to digital mechanisms.

    We present a report from our preliminary research, which focused on the possibilities of implementing game elements into e-learning at university. We were interested in the attitudes and preferences of the students on the introductory course for the study of culture, where a questionnaire survey was conducted. We asked students what potential they see in the application of digital technologies in e-learning, what motivates them to study online and what advantages and limits of the educational principles of games they see in e-learning. Here we offer a description of the preliminary results that led to our next research steps. The questionnaire was distributed among students of two runs of the Introduction to the Study of Culture course at the Faculty of Social Studies of Masaryk University, who completed it after the final test. A total of 188 students submitted a completed form. These were bachelor students, usually in the first year of study, mostly women. We chose a freely available online tool for the analysis, our approach to data processing was non-mathematical at this stage. Nevertheless, we believe that it has enabled us to gain a direct and unmediated insight into the subject of our research. Mixed methods pragmatic rationalization of the research process traditionally refers to the complementarity of datasets and greater validity. Based on the findings, we recommend to educators and developers of the online learning environment how they could improve the design of e-learning in accordance with the needs and different learning styles of students.

    The article considers the positive experience of responding to the threats of the COVID-19 pandemic by the higher education institutions of Ukraine, which for many years have implemented various opportunities of information and communication technologies by building an information and educational environment. Such an environment covers software and hardware, pedagogical and administrative blocks, which allow implementing high-quality professional training adapting to global challenges and requirements that are changing dynamically. Forced and sudden transition to distance learning has confirmed the feasibility of creating a safe and comfortable information and educational environment, integrated into the education system, providing access to all necessary information systems, databases and educational content, adapted to the needs and knowledge of each student, implementing developmental learning on the basis of interactivity. This is a complex scientific and pedagogical, educational and methodological, organizational and managerial, technical and technological task, which involves updating the technological base of the institution and a reasonable transition to innovative pedagogical technologies. Ensuring the quality and continuity of training of future professionals, in particular during the pandemic, these measures require additional investment in technical support and in-service training of research and teaching staff, as well as the establishment of effective administrative and managerial activities.
    W artykule opisane zostały pozytywne doświadczenia ukraińskiego szkolnictwa wyższego wynikające z reagowania na pandemię COVID-19. Uczelnie wyższe już od wielu lat realizują różne możliwości technologii informacyjno-komunikacyjnych poprzez budowanie środowiska informacyjno-edukacyjnego. Środowisko to obejmuje bloki programowo-techniczne, pedagogiczne i administracyjne, które pozwalają realizować wysokiej jakości szkolenia zawodowe dostosowujące się do globalnych wyzwań i dynamicznie zmieniających się wymagań. Wymuszone i gwałtowne przejście na kształcenie w trybie zdalnym potwierdziło sens stworzenia bezpiecznego i komfortowego środowiska informacyjno-edukacyjnego, zintegrowanego z systemem edukacyjnym, zapewniającego dostęp do wszystkich niezbędnych systemów informacyjnych, baz danych i treści edukacyjnych, dostosowanego do potrzeb i poziomu przygotowania każdego studenta, realizującego uczenie się rozwojowe w oparciu o interaktywność. Jest to złożone zadanie naukowo-pedagogiczne, edukacyjno-metodologiczne, organizacyjne, techniczne i technologiczne, które polega na aktualizacji bazy technologicznej instytucji i rozsądnym przejściu na innowacyjne technologie pedagogiczne. Środki te gwarantują jakość i ciągłość kształcenia przyszłych specjalistów, w szczególności podczas pandemii. Co istotne, wymagają one dodatkowej inwestycji w obszarze wsparcia technicznego, a także szkoleń kadry naukowo-dydaktycznej oraz ustanowienia skutecznej zarządczej administracji.
