Opis:
The theatre is a therapeutic method used in the work with the disabled. The main purpose of therapeutic classes is to support the development of the disabled. Owing to a incomprehension of the term theatre therapy, Lech Śliwonik has introduced the term theatre for life. The latter term clearly defines that the theatre with the disabled „should be a way”, should create chances and give opportunities for further development. In order to answer the questions about the course of classes, what aim instructors and therapeutist have, the best way would be to give a good example. Such a theatre is the Theatrical Workshop at the Workshops of Occupational Therapy „Source” in Lublin. It is a theatre and one of the workshops of the same name. The theatre is conducted by Aneta Stodulska (the instructor and director of the group). The main purpose is to support the development of the disabled. The most important is the person and meeting half way his or her needs and potentialities. Aneta Stodulska has worked out her own method of work. The proper understanding of the term theatre therapy and appropriate aim and method bring about concrete results. The theatre Theatrical Workshop achieves good results both in the therapeutic and theatrical areas. The author quotes accurate results of her work in her master's thesis entitled „The Therapeutic Influence of the Theatre on the Disabled. The Activity of the Theatrical Workshop of the Workshop of Occupational Therapy ”Source„ in Lublin.” It was written under the supervision of Prof. Maria Barbara Styk and defended in June 2002.

The aim of the research: discovering the relation between the participation of elderly people in the occupational therapy and their Health-Related Quality of Life. Research material and methods: research was carried out in the public social centres offering the occupational therapy devoted to the elderly people. 95 people whose average age was 72,1 years (58 women and 37 men) were examined. The examinees were divided into two groups: the participants and those who were not involved in the occupational therapy. The method of direct interview using EQ-5D-3L questionnaire - a standard instrument for measuring Health-Related Quality of Life of the elderly people was applied. The results: Seniors involved in occupational therapy reported better HRQL. Difficulties with mobility (<0,05), pain/discomfort (<0,001) and anxiety (<0,001) were substantially more visible around people who did not take part in the occupational therapy. The average self-reported health was better among the occupational therapy participants (<0,001) in comparison with the other elderly people who were not engaged in those activities (76,5 vs. 43,6 respectively). Conclusions: participation in the occupational therapy has a positive effect on the functioning of the elderly people in every sphere of their life: physical, mental and social one. Involvement in the occupations resulted in the improved perception of the Health-Related Quality of Life. Occupational therapy turned out to be an inexpensive and effective method that exerts a positive impact on maintenance of physical and intellectual abilities, social inclusion as well as physical rehabilitation of seniors.

The aim of the article is the analysis of the works of disabled people in two levels: the first is the description of the artistic products; the second involves the use of creative activity in rehabilitation. The characteristics of the work has been referenced in WHO’s and IFC definitions of disability, M.I. Stein’s definition of creativity and the concept of levels of creativity by E. Nęcki combining them with such features as: autosubject resulting from being a person with a disability and the specific perception of the world as a consequences of disability. The creation process is used in a variety of forms of assistance for people with disabilities: social rehabilitation, occupational therapy, art therapy. However, each of them is conducive to the development of work at different levels. The highest level of creativity represent the modern Nikofors, whose works can be admired in the galleries.

Autorka zwraca się w artykule ku humanistycznemu nurtowi na rzecz osób niepełnosprawnych i podkreśla, że praca i terapia poprzez pracę są nierozerwalne, a praca jest nieodzowną częścią życia każdego człowieka.
The author points to a wide picture of Polish manualism as developed by prof. T. Nowacki. She discusses the role which can be attributed to manual work and treatment of persons with disabilities and to what extent, this work contributes to life in society. She emphasizes the goals of occupational therapy, and in which this therapy has a link to the Polish manualism as presented by prof. T. Nowacki. The author also discusses the importance of hand working in creating natural social environment and conditions for development, learning, work and leisure activities not only for people with disabilities, but also psychologically ill or elderly. The author turns in the article towards the humanist current for the disabled and emphasizes that the work and therapy are inseparable, and that the work is an indispensable part of everyone’s life.

Opis:
Music as a form of idea transmission and interpersonal communi-cation (mainly due its capability to reveal one’s emotions) is used successfully during the occupational therapy with seniors staying in institutions of support and care. The most often these are occupational therapy workshops and nursing homes. Furthermore, this form of therapy is used informally in other institu-tions, such as the universities of the third age or senior clubs. It can either take the passive form – listening to music, but also the active – practicing music (for example: singing, composing). Music improves mental state, but it also affects human physical state. Firstly, music prevents; secondly, it rehabilitates; thirdly, it corrects and fourthly, it cures.
Muzyka jako jedna z form przekazu i komunikacji międzyludzkiej (głównie za sprawą ujawnienia emocji danego człowieka) jest wykorzystywana z powodzeniem w czasie terapii zajęciowej z seniorami przebywającymi w pla-cówkach wsparcia i opieki. Najczęściej są to warsztaty terapii zajęciowej oraz domy pomocy społecznej. Ta forma terapii stosowana jest nieformalnie w innych placówkach, takich jak uniwersytety trzeciego wieku, kluby seniora. Przybiera ona postać bierną – słuchanie muzyki, ale także czynną – uprawianie muzyki (np. śpiew, komponowanie). Muzyka poprawia stan psychiczny człowieka, ale ma również wpływ na jego fizykalność. Po pierwsze zapobiega, po drugie usprawnia, po trzecie koryguje, a po czwarte leczy.

Turystyka wiejska, w tym turystyka zdrowotna stanowi dziedzinę aktywności gospodarczej, która w czasach ogólnie obecnego pośpiechu i przepracowania jednostki, znajduje szerokie zastosowanie między innymi w działaniach relaksacyjnych i socjoterapeutycznych. Najczęściej w zajęciach terapeutycznych wykorzystuje się ergoterapię, czyli usprawnianie organizmu ludzkiego przez pracę, a także arteterapię tj. leczenie przez sztukę. W tym artykule ukazano potrzebę korelacji działań terapeutycznych w zakresie szeroko rozumianej rehabilitacji. Przedstawiona zostanie analiza porównawcza dwóch placówek pomocy społecznej, gdzie realizowane są różne formy pomocy podopiecznym. Nawiązane to zostanie do istotnych walorów terapii, które przemawiają za jej stosowaniem w turystyce wiejskiej. Pokazano również istotę pracy terapeuty z pacjentem na podstawie psychologii marzeń sennych C. G. Junga, która mogą być wskazówką ku trafnej diagnozie oraz skutecznej terapii.
Rural tourism is a field that in times of the generally current rush is widely used, particularly when it comes to the impact of relaxation, social therapy. As part of the most successful in health tourism has an Occupational Therapy, mean therapy through work, and art therapy. In this publication, the main idea is to show the necessesary need correlation of therapeutic actions on the broader rehabilitation and ergotherapy and occupational therapy. In this publication I will present a comparative analysis of two social welfare institutions, which are carried out various forms of assistance dependents. Referring to the conference theme will focus also on the essential qualities of therapy, which is justified by its use in rural tourism. I refer also to the possible interpretation of the way of work of dependents based on the psychology of dreams C. G. Jung's, which may be a clue to a correct diagnosis and good therapy.

Głównym celem opracowania jest po pierwsze zaprezentowanie hortikuloterapii jako metody z warsztatu terapeuty zajęciowego, a po drugie - zrekonstruowanie językowego obrazu hortikuloterapii w wypowiedziach osób z niepełnosprawnością intelektualną. Powyższe opracowanie w kontekście aktualnej literatury pokazuje, jak ważnym i pełnym potencjału, choć mało rozpowszechnionym elementem rehabilitacji jest hortikuloterapia. Wnioski pokazują, że stanowi ona formę aktywności, pozytywnie odbieraną przez tych, którzy w niej uczestniczyli.
The main purpose of the paper is to present horticultural therapy as a method of work of an occupational therapist; secondly, to reconstruct the linguistic picture of horticultural therapy in the statements of people with intellectual disabilities. Its study in the context of current literature shows how important and full of potential, but not enough widespread, is horticultural therapy as an element of rehabilitation. The conclusions also show that it is a form of activity positively perceived by those who took part in it.

Celem opracowania jest ukazanie możliwości kreatywnego wykorzystania zapomnianych technik tworzenia i barwienia pisanek jako głównego motywu terapii zajęciowej. The aim of the article was to present the possibilities of doing creative activites which are forgotten, and decorate Easter eggs like the main theme of occupational therapy. The article is divided into three parts which contain: the introduction about the tradition of Easter eggs tradition covering the history and symbolism of this art. The second part includes decorating eggs, symbolism of colours and showing the most popular methods of painting eggs. The last part includes the importance and the presence of occupational therapy elements during the workshop activities.

Uczestnictwo osób z niepełnosprawnością intelektualną w zajęciach w warsztacie terapii zajęciowej (WTZ) lub praca w zakładzie aktywności zawodowej (ZAZ) ma na celu przygotowanie do wejścia na rynek pracy. Zawarte w prezentowanym artykule zagadnienia dotyczą specyfiki sposobów i skuteczności realizacji rehabilitacji zawodowej w warsztacie terapii zajęciowej i zakładzie aktywności zawodowej.
The aim of participation of people with intellectual disabilities in activities in an occupational therapy workshop (OTW) or work in a vocational development centre (VDC) is preparing them to enter in the labour market. Apart from implementing the process of social rehabilitation, that is preparation for fulfilling social roles, stimulation of a social activity and cooperation with other people, the task of the above-mentioned institutions is to conduct a vocational rehabilitation which enables people with intellectual disabilities to acquire skills related to their occupation or job. Issues contained in this article concern the specificity of manners and the effectiveness of the implementation of vocational rehabilitation in the vocational therapy workshop and vocational activation centre.

Ustawa o pomocy społecznej z 12 marca 2004 roku precyzuje, że osobie wymagającej całodobowej opieki z powodu wieku, choroby lub niepełnosprawności, nie mogącej samodzielnie funkcjonować w codziennym życiu, której nie można zapewnić niezbędnej pomocy w formie usług opiekuńczych, przysługuje prawo do umieszczenia w domu pomocy społecznej. Usługi opiekuńcze realizowane na terenie placówki polegają na: udzielaniu pomocy w podstawowych czynnościach życiowych, pielęgnacji, niezbędnej pomocy w załatwianiu spraw osobistych. Jednym z podstawowych zagadnień związanych z prowadzeniem domów pomocy społecznej jest problem aktywizacji jej mieszkańców. Odgrywa ona szczególną rolę w poprawie jakości życia podopiecznego.
The Social Assistance Act of 12 March, 2004 stipulates that a person requiring full time care because of age, illness or disability, not being able to function independently in daily life, who cannot be provided the necessary assistance in the care of daily living, has the right to be placed in the nursing home. Nursing services implemented in the facility consist of: providing assistance in basic activities of daily life, nursing, necessary assistance in dealing with personal care matters. One of the basic aspects related to the running of nursing homes is the problem of activation of its residents. It plays a special role in improving the quality of life of the resident.

Izolacja skazanego za murami więziennymi poza ochroną społeczeństwa, może stanowić dla niego samego szansę na resocjalizację i podłoże do wewnętrznego rozwoju. Sprzyjają temu rozmaite programy realizowane na terenie placówek penitencjarnych. Szeroko pojęta terapia zajęciowa umożliwia wyrażanie emocji, uczuć często skrywanych latami. Więźniowie biorąc udział w zajęciach teatralnych, plastycznych, technicznych ukazują siebie i rozwijają talenty, które w wielu przypadkach ujawniają się w wyraźny sposób właśnie w warunkach izolacji. Praca na rzecz innych pozwala kształtować zachowania prospołeczne, empatyczny stosunek do drugiego człowieka. W artykule zaprezentowano dobre praktyki realizowane w Zakładzie Karnym w Białymstoku. Praca z więźniami w ramach projektu „Agresji mówię NIE!” umożliwia poznanie tego środowiska, ciekawych przedsięwzięć z zakresu terapii zajęciowej. Więźniowie m.in. tworzą spektakle teatralne, wykonują ozdoby świąteczne na rzecz podopiecznych Stowarzyszenia „Droga”, pracują w terenie usuwając szkody po nawałnicach. Warto wzorować się na dobrych praktykach, albowiem skierowane są one do człowieka, w którego warto inwestować.
Isolation in prison, apart from protection of the society against the prisoner, for the convict himself may give a chance for social rehabilitation and form grounds for personal development. It is facilitated by various programmes implemented in penitentiary institutions. A broadly understood occupational therapy enables them to express their emotions and feelings, often concealed for many years. Prisoners who take part in drama, plastic art and technology classes express themselves and develop their talents, which, in many cases become revealed only in isolation. Work for others allows to develop prosocial behaviours and an emphatic attitude to others. In this article I present good practices implemented in the Penal Institution in Bialystok. Work with prisoners within the frameworks of the project “Say NO to Aggression!” has enabled me to get acquainted with this community and observe many interesting undertakings in the field of occupational therapy. Prisoners, for example, prepare theatre shows, make Christmas or Easter decorations for the “Droga” Association, work outdoor doing repair works to remove damages caused by natural disasters. I am sharing such observations with the readers of my article. Such good practices should be followed as they are targeted at people who are worth investing in.

Spełniają one nie tylko rolę dydaktyczną, wychowawczą, opiekuńczą i leczniczą, lecz także odgrywają zadanie leczenia zabawą z uśmiechem. Twórczość zabawkarska dzieci to przykład działań ergoterapeutycznych tj. terapii przez pracę.
Occupational therapy is widely used in medicine and in rehabilitation of people. Occupation - (addressing something useful) is the best natural medicine and the basis for human happiness. This applies to interests, hobbies that we can develop in the rural environment. One such pleasure is a handcrafted toys production, including folk toys. They meet not only the role of teaching, educational, caring and healing, but also play a task to treat with fun with a smile. Children’s toy creativity is an example of ergotherapetic actions, meaning therapy through work.

Another way to stimulate the occupational therapy, which involves the realm of the physical, mental and social man usually less active in general. The objectives of occupational therapy are similar to the general objectives underlying any form of physical activity, and that is the behavior of self-reliance, independence and efficiency.The aim of the study is to analyze different activation programs in relation to the functional capacity of women aged 60+.We analyzed two fundamentally different activation programs seniors: occupational therapy program implemented in the Daily Nursing Home for the Elderly in Gdansk and health training program in the form of Nordic Walking realized within statutory research. The material tested is 48 women over the age of 60, after 24 people training Nordic Walking 3 times a week for 60 minutes, and 24 people participating in occupational therapy.Physical activity is an effective means to maintain physical for a long time, it can also be an effective means of shaping it during aging. Physical activity should begin early. Then you can expect spectacular effects of training, and thus a high physical translates directly to high levels of positive physical health. You can expect to achieve in this area, the leader among his peers. You can go ahead and prepare for old age, efficient, independent and self.

Ergototherapy is a valuable addition to kinesiotherapy, especially at further stages of improvement. Its one of the basic tasks is to facilitate basic manual activities by skillfully selecting occupations and working methods. On the other hand, its intentional and planned effect is to improve the fitness of the body by increasing the range of movements in the joints, increasing the strength of the muscles, and improving the coordination and the manual ability of the hand. One of the methods of ergoterapeutic birds is gardening classes. These classes give you the opportunity to work in different work positions, engage different muscle groups, and require strength and knowledge.The aim of this paper is to present possible methods of ergotherapeutic work in the garden in patients with spasticity of upper limbs.
