    Opis:
    Przedstawiono stosowane powszechnie modele wypadków. Przeanalizowano wypadki związane z operacjami przeładunkowymi w porcie szczecińskim za okres 1999 - 2000. Dokonano oceny ryzyka zawodowego w sferze przeładunków. Zaproponowano modelową kartę oceny ryzyka zawodowego na stanowiskach przeładunkowych.
    Commonly used models of accidents at work have been presented. A quantitative analysis of accidents at the port of Szczecin (frequency, seriousness, accident rate) has been carried out for the years 1996 - 2000. A detailed quantitative and qualitative analysis has been carried out for accidents during cargo-handling operations. On the basis of the estimated occupational hazard, employees' safety has been assessed. A model card of occupational hazard assessment for cargo-handling places has been suggested.

    Opis:
    Objectives Chemicals were used in various fields by the development of industry and science and technology. The Chemical Hazard Risk Management (CHARM) was developed to assess the risk of chemicals in South Korea. In this study, we were to evaluate the CHARM model developed for the effective management of workplace chemicals. Material and Methods We used 59 carcinogenic, mutagenic or reprotoxic (CMR) materials, which are both the work environment measurement result and the usage information among the manufacturer data. The CHARM model determines the risk to human health using the exposure level (based on working environment measurements or a combination of the quantity used and chemical physical properties (e.g., fugacity and volatility)), hazard (using occupational exposure limit (OEL) or Risk phrases (R-phrases)/Hazard statements (H-statements) from the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS)). Results The risk level was lower when using the results of the work environment measurement than when applying the chemical quantity and physical properties in the exposure level evaluation method. It was evaluated as grade 4 for the CMR material in the hazard class determination. The risk assessment method by R-phrases was evaluated more conservatively than the risk assessment method by OEL. And the risk assessment method by H-statements was evaluated more conservatively than the risk assessment method by R-phrases. Conclusions The CHARM model was gradually conservatively assessed as it proceeded in the next step without quantitative information for individual workplaces. The CHARM is expected to help identify the risk if the hazards and exposure levels of chemicals were identified in individual workplaces. For CMR substances, although CHARM is highly evaluated for hazards, the risk is assessed to be low if exposure levels are assessed low. When evaluating the risk of highly hazardous chemicals such as CMR substances, we believe the model should be adapted to be more conservative and classify these as higher risk.     The paper analyzes occupational risk at selected metal cutting machine tool stands (turning, milling, drilling and grinding stands) and presents a set of recommendations formulated to minimize hazards at the above mentioned stands. The assessment is based on the analysis that allowed for selecting the best method of occupational risk assessment, measurements, observations, interviews and conclusions drawn from the obtained results. Occupational risk assessment forms were devised, what allowed for selecting appropriate action to increase the safety of selected machinery operators. The guidelines were assessed in terms of their practical implementation and expected utilitarian results.

    Badania pilotażowe przeprowadzone w przedsiębiorstwach różnej wielkości w 2010 i 2018 roku ujawniły najwięcej nieprawidłowości w ocenie ryzyka zawodowego w mikroprzedsiębiorstwach. Wyniki wykazały, że jest to spowodowane brakiem wiedzy i umiejętności dotyczących sposobu identyfikacji zagrożeń, metod wspomagających ocenę ryzyka, monitorowania i oceny efektywności działań obniżających ryzyko oraz znajomości wymagań prawnych w zakresie oceny ryzyka zarówno po stronie pracodawców, jak i pracowników. Cyfrowa transformacja, z jaką mamy współcześnie do czynienia, daje szereg możliwości wspomagania decyzji człowieka w różnych obszarach jego działalności, w tym również stworzenia inteligentnego narzędzia do oceny ryzyka zawodowego. W artykule podjęto próbę sformułowania koncepcji interaktywnej oceny ryzyka zawodowego, adresowanej do mikroprzedsiębiorstw, obejmującej wszystkie jej etapy, metody i techniki, które mają lub powinny mieć zastosowanie w jej przebiegu i która uwzględniałaby nowo powstające zagrożenia, ergonomiczne czynniki ryzyka oraz monitorowanie i ocenę skuteczności działań obniżających ryzyko.
    Original interactive occupational risk assessment concept, addressed mainly to small and micro enterprises, was presented. Pilot studies conducted in 2010 and repeated in 2018 show numerous examples of risk assessments that were not performed and many mistakes in the evaluation process. This is due to the lack of knowledge and experience among the employers in the area of risk identification, risk assessment supporting methods, monitoring and effectiveness evaluation of actions towards lowering of occupational risk as well as legal requirements connected with risk assessment. Digital transformation, that we are currently facing, influences the changes of operation in different industrial and service-oriented sectors as well as changes in the human-machine interaction network. That is why it is crucial for the occupational risk assessment tools to correspond with modern solutions in enterprise management. Research results, covering performance of occupational risk assessment and knowledge of different risk assessment methods, conducted in various small, medium and large enterprises, is presented. Formulation of interactive occupational risk assessment concept, which would cover all its stages, methods and techniques that need to be used in the assessment and would include new emerging threats and ergonomic risks as well as monitoring and effectiveness evaluation of risk lowering activities, was attempted.

    Ocena ryzyka zawodowego, o czym stanowią akty prawne jest jednym z obowiązków pracodawcy. Istotnymi zagadnieniami w przebiegu oceny ryzyka są: charakterystyka stanowiska pracy, identyfikacja zagrożeń, dalej szacowanie ryzyka odnoszącego się do każdego zidentyfikowanego zagrożenia, następnie wartościowanie ryzyka i określenie działań ograniczających lub eliminujących ryzyko. W konsekwencji powyższych treści obecnie poszukuje się dobrych praktyk w zakresie oceny ryzyka zawodowego, w szczególności w opracowywaniu elementów składających się na tzw. algorytm oceny ryzyka. W artykule przedstawiono dobre praktyki na podstawie przeprowadzonych analiz i obserwacji odnoszących się do systemu zarządzania bezpieczeństwem i higieną pracy. W szczególności zwrócono uwagę na aspekt planowania samej oceny ryzyka, jakości zespołu ds. oceny ryzyka zawodowego i jego umiejętności oraz na poszczególne elementy wchodzące w przebieg oceny ryzyka.
    According to the legal acts, making a risk assessment should be the responsibility of the employer. The important issues in the course of the risk assessment are as follows: the characteristics of the job, the identification of hazards, further risk assessment relating to each identified hazard, the valuation of the risks and defining the measures to reduce or eliminate the risk. As a result of the above mentioned, currently, there is a need to find good practices in the field of risk assessment, in particular in the development of elements of the so-called risk assessment algorithm. The article presents good practices on the basis of the analyzes and observations relating to the Safety Management System and Occupational Health. In particular, the attention was paid to the risk management process, the quality and the skills of the team assessing the risk as well as to the individual elements included in the risk assessment process.

    The catering industry is developing rapidly in China. Statistics in 2002 indicated that there were over 3.5 million dining places in China, hiring over 18 million people. However, the accident rate was high. Occupational health and safety (OHS) has to be watched more carefully. It is proposed to develop an OHS management system for the catering industry and to integrate it with an ongoing management system by referring to OHSAS 18001:1999. The first step is risk identification and evaluating the major factors concerned by referring to the codes in China, the list of occupational diseases, operation rules, requirements of the law, and records of past incidents. The technological aspect has to be considered in working out the safety strategies. This includes technical measures in accident prevention at the workplace. The kitchen is the main area to be focused on. Methods for hazard identification and risk assessment of dangerous factors in kitchens are proposed in this paper.

    Opis:
    The paper highlights the results of a study that examined the employees' expertise and awareness of occupational hazards in their work environment. The research involved a survey conducted in the form of a short questionnaire among employees responsible for loading and hauling of excavated material in an opencast mine. Among 23 major hazards that were thus identified, there were global hazards (affecting the entire mining process) as well as local, task-specific hazards. Depending on the number of responses, 10 local and 3 global hazards were identified in the analyzed area, involving noise, stress and dust. Active participation of the crew in the risk identification process helped in the assessment of their criticality levels, according to employees carrying out various task, highlighting the benefits of such approach for effective work safety management in a mining company. The conducted research demonstrated yet another goal to be achieved - i.e. the comparison of criticality levels of hazards as identified by employees and those reported in occupational risk assessment reports in the mine

    Opis:
    A computerized handheld procedure is presented in this paper. It is intended as a database complementary tool, to enhance prospective risk analysis in the field of occupational health. The Pendragon forms software (version 3.2) has been used to implement acquisition procedures on Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs) and to transfer data to a computer in an MS-Access format. The data acquisition strategy proposed relies on the risk assessment method practiced at the Institute of Occupational Health Sciences (IST). It involves the use of a systematic hazard list and semi-quantitative risk assessment scales. A set of 7 modular forms has been developed to cover the basic need of field audits. Despite the minor drawbacks observed, the results obtained so far show that handhelds are adequate to support field risk assessment and follow-up activities. Further improvements must still be made in order to increase the tool effectiveness and field adequacy.

    Opis:
    This paper presents occupational skin exposure to solar ultraviolet radiation (UVR) of 122 Polish outdoor workers in spring and summer. In 65% of the cases, it was significant and exceeded 10 standard erythema doses (SED) during a work shift. The results provided grounds for (a) modifying hazard assessment based on the skin exposure factor proposed by the International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP) and (b) developing a criterion of risk estimation. The modified method uses the UV index (UVI) instead of the geographical latitude and season factor. The skin exposure factor (Wes) of one is the criterion of risk estimation. Risk is low if the estimated value of Wes does not exceed one. If it does, suitable preventive measures are necessary and a corrected skin exposure factor (Wes *) is calculated to minimize its value to at least one. Risk estimated with that method was high in 67% of the cases.

    Zawód operatora koparko-ładowarki polega na wykonywaniu robót ziemnych oraz prac pomocniczych, transportowych i porządkowych. Środowiskiem pracy operatora koparko-ładowarki są tereny budów, żwirownie, piaskownie, kamieniołomy, kopalnie. Operator koparko-ładowarki pracuje zarówno wewnątrz, jaki i na zewnątrz kabiny i narażony jest on na występowanie wielu czynników środowiskowych mogących powodować wypadki przy pracy oraz choroby zawodowe. W artykule przedstawiono w sposób syntetyczny charakterystykę zawodu operatora koparko-ładowarki zwracając uwagę na takie aspekty jak: zakres wykonywanych czynności (zadań), środowisko pracy oraz kwalifikacje i uprawnienia niezbędne do wykonywania tego zawodu. Następnie dokonano przeglądu zagrożeń zawodowych występujących na stanowisku pracy operatora koparko-ładowarki. Uzupełnienie powyższych rozważań stanowią wyniki oceny ryzyka zawodowego przeprowadzonej za pomocą metody Risc Score. W efekcie autorzy publikacji prezentują przykładowe działania korygujące umożliwiające zminimalizowanie poziom ryzyka zawodowego.
    The job of a backhoe operator is to perform earthworks as well as auxiliary, transport and order work. The working environment of the backhoe loader operator are construction sites, gravel pits, sand pits, quarries, and mines. The backhoe operator works both inside and outside the cab and is exposed to the presence of many environmental factors that can cause accidents at work and occupational diseases. The paper presents in a synthetic way the characteristics of the profession of a backhoe loader operator paying attention to such aspects as: the scope of performed activities (tasks), working environment and qualifications and qualifications necessary to perform this profession. Then, a review of occupational hazards occurring at the workplace of a backhoe loader operator was made. Supplementing the above considerations are the results of the occupational risk assessment carried out using the Risc Score method. As a result, the authors of the publication present examples of corrective actions to minimize the level of occupational risk.
