    Opis:
    The development of on-board electronics and automotive on-board networks, as well as of wireless data transmission systems (GSM, TCP / IP) enabled online monitoring and control of selected processes of a motor vehicle. One of the most important steps was the development of the GPRS protocol, enabling data transmission (including measurement data) over long distances, as well as integration with other network protocols, such as the internet. The first implementations of these solutions such as BMW’s telematics services (including iDrive and iAssist) slowly become history. However, these solutions are among the many telematics services, whose development require proper tools. This article aims to explain the issues related to the use of cloud computing for the purposes of these services (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS), as well as to present selected solutions.

    Opis:
    Major technological trends that will impact the transport field can be found in the information and communications technologies domain and constitute key enablers for the roll-out of “intelligent” transport applications also maritime. Cloud Computing (CC) is one of these technological trends, and in its various forms provides solutions for the computing and data intensive tasks. The objective of the paper is to analyse the value of new initiatives connected with the use of cloud computing technology in ship management platforms.

    W okresie ostatnich kilkunastu lat proces budowlany uległ przemianie, która jest szczególnie zauważalna w odniesieniu do realizacji dużych inwestycji. Obarczone one zostały szeregiem rygorystycznych przepisów i wymagań, które w naturalny sposób wymusiły stosowanie określonych rozwiązań. Zmiany te dotyczą zarówno etapu projektowania, wykonawstwa jak i późniejszego użytkowania. Wystarczy wspomnieć choćby normy Eurokod wprowadzające cały szereg bardzo szczegółowych wymagań i wytycznych, co skutkuje koniecznością wprowadzania systemów zarządzania produkcją i jakością, a także wymusza optymalizację szeregu etapów inwestycji.
    In the last few years, the construction process has changed, which is particularly noticeable in relation to the major projects. They are subject to a number of stringent rules and requirements, which naturally necessitated the use of specific solutions. These changes apply both to a stage of the design, the construction, as well as the subsequent use. It is enough to mention the Eurocode standards, implementing a number of very specific requirements and guidelines, which in turn results in the need for the development of production and quality management systems, and forces the optimization of a number of stages of the project.
