Aniela Gruszecka, though not a well-know author, wrote a very interesting novel entitled “From the Carpathian Mountains to the Baltic Sea”. The novel touches on a number of issues that bothered society after World War II, to name but a few, national identity, historical memory, the importance of good and evil in life, relationships, the direction of rebuilding post-war reality, etc. A child has been made the main hero of the story as the author targets children and teenagers as the main readers. What also attracts readers’ attention is the language which has been skillfully styled and enriched in elements of the Kashubian language. Undoubtedly, the novel by Aniela Gruszecka is great food for thought and worth taking a look at.
Aniela Gruszecka, choć mało znana, stworzyła niezwykle ciekawą powieść pod tytułem Od Karpat nad Bałtyk. Poruszała w niej szereg problemów, które nurtowały społeczeństwo po drugiej wojnie światowej: tożsamość narodową, pamięć historyczną, znaczenie dobra i zła w życiu, stosunki międzyludzkie, kierunek odbudowy rzeczywistości powojennej. Bohaterem uczyniła dziecko, bo do dzieci i młodzieży kierowała swoją twórczość. Uwagę czytelnika skupia również umiejętnie przeprowadzona stylizacja w zakresie języka – autorka do utworu wprowadziła elementy kultury językowej Kaszubów.
