Opis:
The paper deals with the problem of modelling the inrun profile of a ski jumping hill with a variable radius of curvature. It presents the possibility of reducing the inertia force acting on a ski jumper in the immediate neighbourhood of the take-off track while maintaining the inclination angles of the starting segment of the track and the take-off track which are applied in the present day constructions. The problem of a further decrease of the inertia force resulting from the increase of the inclination angle of the starting segment has also been discussed. Finally, the profiles of the inrun which do not contain the inflexion point have been determined.
Praca dotyczy zagadnienia projektowania najazdu skoczni narciarskiej o zmiennym promieniu krzywizny. W pracy pokazano możliwość obniżenia reakcji normalnej toru w bezpośrednim sąsiedztwie z progiem, przy zachowaniu stosowanych w obecnych rozwiązaniach kątów nachylenia części startowej i progu. Zbadano również możliwość dalszego obniżenia reakcji normalnej w wyniku zwiększenia kąta nachylenia części startowej. Na koniec wyznaczono łagodne pod względem dynamicznym profile najazdu nie zawierające punktu przegięcia.

In this paper we consider important classes of one dimensional environments, bending stiffness of which can be neglected. It is impossible to apply approximate analytical method of solution of mathematical models of dynamic processes. So justification of existence and uniqueness of solutions, carried out a qualitative their evaluation, based on numerical analysis are considering in this paper. Also the features of dynamic processes of some of examined class of systems are analyzed. Methods of qualitative study of oscillations for restricted and unrestricted bodies under the influence of the resistance forces, described in this paper are based on the general principles of the theory of nonlinear boundary value problems – Galerkin method and the method of monotonicity. Scientific novelty consists in generalization these methods of studying for nonlinear problems at new classes of oscillating systems, justification of solution correctness for specified mathematical models that have practical application in real engineering vibration systems.

Opis:
The paper presents the problem of liquid motion in a 2D partly filled tank. It is assumed that the flow of liquid in tank is a potential, hence it can be described by Laplace equations with appropriate boundary conditions. The problem is solved using the boundary element method. The developed numerical algorithm makes it possible to determine the free surface elevation, the velocity field and the pressure field during the liquid motion in the tank. The area occupied by liquid is represented by a mesh changing in time. Numerical computations are performed for translatory and rotational motion of the tank. The results of numerical computations are verified by experiment.

Opis:
The aim of paper is to study the solution of the problem of nonlinear transverse vibrations of elastic elongated body under the force of resistance in unbounded domain. Such problems have applications in various technical systems - vibration of pipelines, railways, long bridges, electric lines, optical fibers. Unboundedness of the area creates more fundamental difficulties in the study of the problem. For the considered models of nonlinear oscillations have no general analytical techniques for determining the dynamic characteristics of the oscillatory process. Therefore it is sugges ted to use qualitative methods of the theory of nonlinear boundary value problems to obtain correct problem solution conditions (existence and uniqueness of the solution). In the paper conditions of the correctness of the solution of mathematical model for these nonlinear systems (sufficient conditions of the existence and uniqueness in the class of locally integrable functions) are obtained. Methods of qualitative study of semi-infinite cable vibrations under the forces of resistance based on general principles of the theory of nonlinear boundary value problems - method of monotony and Galerkin method. Scientific novelty of the work lies in particular in the generalization of methods of studying nonlinear problems on a new class of oscillatory systems In unbounded domains, justifying the correctness of the solution with specified mathematical model, which has practical applications in real engineering oscillatory systems. The technique allows not only for proving the correctness of the model solution, but also has an opportunity in its study to apply various approximate methods.

The fourth order periodic boundary value problem $u^{(4)} - m⁴u + F(t,u) = 0$, 0 < t < 2π, with $u^{(i)}(0) = u^{(i)}(2π)$, i = 0,1,2,3, is studied by using the fixed point index of mappings in cones, where F is a nonnegative continuous function and 0 < m < 1. Under suitable conditions on F, it is proved that the problem has at least two positive solutions if m ∈ (0,M), where M is the smallest positive root of the equation tan mπ = -tanh mπ, which takes the value 0.7528094 with an error of $±10^{-7}$.

For the nonlinear heat equation with a fractional Laplacian $u_t + (-Δ)^{α/2} u = u^2$, 1 < α ≤ 2, the first initial-boundary value problem in a disk is considered. Small initial conditions, homogeneous boundary conditions, and periodicity conditions in the angular coordinate are imposed. Existence and uniqueness of a global-in-time solution is proved, and the solution is constructed in the form of a series of eigenfunctions of the Laplace operator in the disk. First-order long-time asymptotics of the solution is obtained.

The nonlinear heat equation with a fractional Laplacian $[u_t+(-Δ)^{α/2} u = u^2, 0 < α ≤ 2]$, is considered in a unit ball $B$. Homogeneous boundary conditions and small initial conditions are examined. For 3/2 + ε₁ ≤ α ≤ 2, where ε₁ > 0 is small, the global-in-time mild solution from the space $C⁰([0,∞), H₀^{κ}(B))$ with κ < α - 1/2 is constructed in the form of an eigenfunction expansion series. The uniqueness is proved for 0 < κ < α - 1/2, and the higher-order long-time asymptotics is calculated.
