    Opis:
    The aim of this study is to analyze and compare the use of nominalized verbs and adjectives in abstracts of research articles in linguistics written by German- and Polish-speaking scientists. The paper begins by describing academic texts as a subject of (comparative) linguistic investigation. The next section focuses on structure and pragmatic features of abstracts as components of research articles. Subsequently the role of nominalization as one of the strategies of syntactic compression (also called syntactic condensation) and as an element of nominal style in academic texts is discussed. The next part presents the results of qualitative analysis of the data gained from 20 German and 20 Polish abstracts of research articles in linguistics. The concluding section 6 sums up the presented study and offers some recommendations for further research.

    Nie jest tajemnicą niezrozumiałość prawa, lecz niewystarczająco zgłębiona pozostawała głębia tej niezrozumiałości. W dotychczasowych badaniach aspektami ilościowymi wspierano się pobieżnie albo bez wniknięcia w ich metodę. Praca ta ma na celu rozbudować instrumentarium analizy języka prawnego pod kątem zrozumiałości prawa i zademonstrować wyniki użycia tych narzędzi. Do badania wybrano kilkadziesiąt polskich ustaw, które w całości przetworzono i przeanalizowano przy użyciu aplikacji Jasnopis. Wyniki zostały następnie poddane weryfikacji i analizie osadzonej w kontekście badań językoznawczych i społecznych. Analizy: 1) potwierdzają głęboką niezrozumiałość języka prawnego niezależnie od używanego miernika; 2) kwantyfikują tę niezrozumiałość względem polszczyzny powszechnej dając obraz oddalenia języka prawnego od rzeczywistości; 3) wskazują na swoistość wewnętrzną języka prawnego objawiającą się zróżnicowaniem parametrów dotyczących zrozumiałości i morfologicznych w zależności od gałęzi prawa; 4) dostrzegają potencjał w badaniu języka prawnego wskaźnikami innymi niż powszechnie używane. Badania otwierają pole do szerszej niż dotąd dyskusji na temat jakości komunikacyjnej ustawodawstwa, a dzięki kontekstowi polszczyzny powszechnej pomagają zarysować istotne społecznie konsekwencje w postaci alienacji językowej odbiorców prawa.
    The incomprehensibility of law is no secret, but the depth of this incomprehensibility has remained insufficiently explored. Previous studies have supported quantitative aspects either superficially or without delving into their method. This work aims to expand the toolkit for analysing legal language in terms of its comprehensibility and demonstrate the results of using these tools. Dozens of Polish laws selected for the study were fully processed and analysed using the Jasnopis application. The results were then reviewed and analysed in the context of linguistic and social studies. The analyses: (1) confirm the profound incomprehensibility of legal language, regardless of the yardstick used; (2) quantify this incomprehensibility in relation to general Polish, providing a picture of how remote legal language is from reality; (3) point to the intrinsic peculiarity of legal language, as manifested in the variation of intelligibility and morphological parameters depending on the branch of law; (4) reveal the potential in studying legal language with indicators other than those commonly used. The research opens up the field for a broader-than-before discussion of the communicative quality of legislation and, thanks to the context of general Polish, helps outline the socially relevant consequences in the form of linguistic alienation of law recipients.

    This paper presents some results of a comparison of a sample of Italian texts produced by native speakers of Italian with the following: 1) a parallel sample of written productions of native speakers of Polish; 2) a sample of parallel texts produced in Italian by a group of Polish learners of Italian as a foreign language. The way of textualizing the narrative macro-act elicited with a short comic movie of Mr. Bean that was proposed to the informants in the course of an experiment is investigated. The proposed analyses show that texts produced by Italians have textuality definable in terms of nominal style, while Polish texts and Italian texts produced by Polish informants tend toward verbal style. The results obtained are commented in the light of contrastive-typological considerations aimed to place Italian and Polish within the distinction between endo- and exocentric languages.
    Il presente contributo presenta alcuni risultati di una comparazione di un campione di testi italiani, ovvero prodotti da informatori di madrelingua italiana con: 1) da un lato un campione parallelo di produzioni scritte di parlanti nativi del polacco; 2) dall’altro lato un campione di testi paralleli prodotti in italiano da un gruppo di apprendenti di italiano come LS madrelingua polacchi. Viene indagato il modo di testualizzare il macroatto narrativo a partire da un input extralinguistico (breve filmato comico di Mr. Bean) proposto agli informatori nel corso di un esperimento. Dalle analisi proposte emerge che i testi italiani hanno una testualità definibile in termini di stile nominale, mentre i testi polacchi e i testi italiani prodotti dagli informatori polacchi tendono verso lo stile verbale. I risultati ottenuti vengono commentati a partire da una cornice interpretativa costruita attorno alle considerazioni tipologico-contrastive volte a collocare l’italiano e il polacco rispetto alla distinzione tra le lingue endo- ed esocentriche.

    Der vorliegende Aufsatz setzt sich mit Besonderheiten philosophischer Fachsprache auseinander. Anhand der Vergleichsanalyse von Texten auf Ukrainisch, Polnisch und Deutsch werden Gemeinsamkeiten oder Besonderheiten grammatischer, lexikalischer und stilistischer Natur der untersuchten philosophischen Texte festgestellt. Besondere Aufmerksamkeit wird der bisher kaum untersuchten philosophischen Fachsprache geschenkt, sodass auch auf die Problematik der Entwicklung des wissenschaftlichen Stils im Ukrainischen eingegangen wird.
    Nominalny styl języka filozofii na przykładzie tekstów ukraińskich, polskich i niemieckich Przedmiot artykułu stanowią osobliwości języka fachowego filozofii. Analiza porównawcza tekstów ukraińskich, polskich i niemieckich pozwoliła uchwycić gramatyczne, leksykalne i stylistyczne podobieństwa i różnice badanych tekstów. Szczególną uwagę zwrócono na język fachowy filozofii; pozwoliło to poruszyć kwestię rozwoju stylu naukowego w języku ukraińskim.
    The present article deals with the peculiarities of philosophical texts caused by application of the nominal style. Analysing Ukrainian, Polish and German language texts dedicated to the work of Friedrich Nietzsche, commonalities and distinctions of a grammatical and lexical nature are identified. Based on the premise that philosophy is an essential and immediate precondition for analysing the relationship between thought and language in the linguistic aspect, additional information on the emergence of the Ukrainian philosophical style is gained.

    Artykuł poświęcony jest projektowi bułgarsko-polskiego słownika stałych powiązań czasownikowo-nominalnych. Autorki zauważają ogromną popularność tego typu połączeń we współczesnej słowiańszczyźnie oraz duże nasycenie tymi formami tekstów administracyjnych, urzędniczych, sądowych i tekstów literatury pięknej. Ich zdaniem przygotowany bułgarsko-polski słownik powiązań czasownikowo-nominalnych ułatwi tłumaczenie coraz większej liczby dokumentów (m.in. w kontekście członkostwa obu krajów w UE) i jest pomostem w leksykografii. Potencjalny tom słownika zawiera około 2 tysiące haseł zawierających ponad 6 tysięcy bułgarskich wyrażeń czasownikowo-nominalnych z polskimi odpowiednikami. Każde przedstawione połączenie składa się z segmentu nominalnego wyrażonego przez rzeczownik abstrakcyjny oraz segmentu czasownikowego.
    The article is devoted to the project of the Bulgarian-Polish dictionary of constant verb-nominal connections. The authors notice a huge popularity of this type of connections in modern Slavonics and a large saturation of administrative, office-, judicial texts as well as texts of belles-lettres with these forms. In their opinion, the prepared Bulgarian-Polish dictionary of verb-nominal connections will facilitate translation of the bigger and bigger number of documents (among other things, in the context of the membership of both countries in the EU) and will bridge in the lexicography. The prospective volume of the dictionary contains approximately 2 thousands of entry-articles containing above 6 thousand Bulgarian verb-nominal type expressions with Polish equivalents. Every presented connection consists of a nominal segment expressed by an abstract noun and a verbal segment.
