Opis:: An inventory studies on Microlepidoptera were performed in 2008 on meadows neighbouring the then planned War-saw-Modlin Airport. The studies revealed the occurrence of 165 species representing 26 families in the area including 37 species first noted in Masovian Province. Species that deserve special attention due to a low number of sites in Poland include: Depressaria pimpinellae (Zeller, 1839), Scythris seliniella (Zeller, 1839), Schiffermuelleria schaefferella (Linnaeus, 1758), Pseudatemelia flavifrontella (Denis et Schiffermüller, 1775), Nothris verbascella (Denis et Schiffermüller, 1775), Ptocheuusa inopella (Zeller, 1839), Epinotia rubiginosana (Herrich-Schäffer, 1851), Lobesia artemisiana (Zeller, 1847), Phtheochroa pulvillana (Herrich-Schäffer, 1851), Anania verbascalis (Denis et Schiffermüller, 1775), Epascestria pustulalis (Hübner, 1823).
Nowe stanowisko rzadkich gatunków Microlepidoptera w Kotlinie Warszawskiej. W 2008 roku przeprowadzono badania inwentaryzacyjne dotyczące Microlepidoptera na obszarze łąk sąsiadujących z planowanym wówczas portem lotniczym Warszawa-Modlin. W wyriiku badań stwierdzono na tym terenie występowanie 165 gatunków reprezentujących 26 rodzin. Wśród nich było 37 gatunków po raz pierwszy wykazanych z województwa mazowieckiego. Do gatunków zasługujących na szczególną uwagę ze względu na niewielką liczbę znanych w Polsce stanowisk zaliczono: Depressaria pimpinellae (Zeller, 1839), Scythris seliniella (Zeller, 1839), Schiffermuelleria schaefferella (Linnaeus, 1758), Pseudatemelia flavifrontella (Denis et Schiffermuller, 1775), Nothris verbascella (Denis et Schiffermuller, 1775), Ptocheuusa inopella (Zeller, 1839), Epinotia rubiginosana (Herrich-Schaffer, 1851), Lobesia artemisiana (Zeller, 1847), Phtheochroa pulvillana (Herrich-Schaffer, 1851), Anania verbascalis (Denis et Schiffermuller, 1775), Epascestria pustulalis (Hubner, 1823).

Opis:: The present study unfolds the diversity of ants of Bibhutibhushan Wildlife Sanctuary, North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, India. A total of 22 species under 13 genera distributed over 5 subfamilies could be recorded. These include three newly recorded species namely Leisiota frauenfeldi (Mayr) (Formicinae), Crematogaster (Acrocoelia) hodgsoni Forel (Myrmicinae) and Brachyponera nigrita Emery (Ponerinae) from the state and nearly 90.5% of the reported species are new for the district (marked*). Analysis of their zoogeographical distribution reveals that the fauna apart from being Oriental also includes some Palaearctic (72.73%), Australian (13.63%) and Ethiopian (4.54%) elements. The dominant functional group is constituted by the Subordinate Camponotini (36.37%) followed by Generalized Myrmicinae (22.73%), Tropical Climate Specialist (13.63%), Specialist Predator (9.09%), Opportunist (9.09%) and Dominant Dolichorinae (9.09%). Ants are mostly prevalent during Monsoon (81.82%), followed by Postmonsoon (68.18%) and Premonsoon (50.00%). Two species namely Camponotus (Tanaemyrmex) compressus (Fabricius) and Oecophylla smaragdina (Fabricius) are recorded throughout the year. Ranking sequence of the most abundant species in descending order is: Camponotus (Tanaemyrmex) compressus (15.01%) = Oecophylla smaragdina (15.01%) > Crematogaster (Acrocoelia) hodgsoni (12.91%). Camponotus (Tanaemyrmex) compressus and Oecophylla smaragdina are the most dominant species. Data also reveals that both core and buffer zones conjointly offer a better combination of habitat requirement, as 12 species are common in both the zones. Highest no. of species are recorded from leaf litter and ground combined together (22 species) and 6 species are arboreal in nature. Shannon’s Diversity Index (α diversity) and Simpson’s Diversity Index both are higher in buffer zone. This reflects the habitat exploitation efficiency of the encountered species. As per Jaccard Index (β diversity) the similarity value of both the zones is only 0.55.

Opis:: New data on the occurrence of a very rare, critical endangered (category CR) species Trechus rivularis (Gyllenhal, 1810) (Carabidae) on the island Karsiborska Kępa in the delta of Świna. One specimen was collected in the reserve on the flood plain, covered with compact reed growth.
Przedstawiono nowe dane o występowaniu bardzo rzadkiego, skrajnie zagrożonego (kategoria CR) gatunku Trechus rivularis (Gyllenhal, 1810) z rodziny biegaczowatych (Carabidae) na wyspie Karsiborska Kępa w delcie Świny. Stwierdzono występowanie jednego okazu w rezerwacie na terenie zalewowym, pokrytym zwartą trzciną.

Opis:: Two parasitoid wasps, Torymus artemisiae Mayr and Torymoides violaceus (Nikol’skaya), were reared on Artemisia herba-alba (Asteraceae) galles, in central Iran. Torymus artemisiae and T. violaceus were developed from the gall midges: Rhopalomyia navasi Tavares and R. hispanica Tavares, respectively. The occurrence of these two parasitic wasps in Iran, and their associations with R. navasi and R. hispanica, are new. Data on the wasps’ biological associations and geographical distribution are provided. The parasitoid compositions of the genus Rhopalomyia (Diptera: Cecidomyiidae) were also discussed.

Opis:: The Pogórze Wiśnickie foothills are situated in close vicinity to the Kraków agglomeration and is highly influenced by human activity. Lichen studies in the area revealed 163 species so far. A current checklist of the lichen biota of the territory is provided with numerous new regional records, e.g., Bacidina sulphurella, Evernia prunastri, Fuscidea pusilla, Lecanora albellula, Lepraria ecorticata, Mycobilimbia epixanthoides, Ramalina farinacea, R. fastigiata, Ropalospora viridis, Verrucaria praetermissa and V. tectorum.
W latach 1998-2000 przeprowadzono badania lichenologiczne na obszarze Pogórza Wiśnickiego (Karpaty Zachodnie) ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem obszarów chronionych. Praca ta jest pierwszą z planowanych prac podsumowujących wyniki tych badań. Warto podkreślić, że Pogórze Karpackie to bardzo interesujący obiekt do badań, który pozostając pod znacznym wpływem działalności człowieka zachował wiele cennych składników przyrodniczych. O becna lista porostów Pogórza Wiśnickiego liczy 163 gatunki, wiele z nich podano z tego terenu po raz pierwszy. Gatunki nowe reprezentują różne grupy porostów, interesujące z taksonomicznego i ekologicznego punktu widzenia. Są to przedstawiciele licznych w gatunki rodzajów skorupiastych, które doczekały się w ostatnim czasie nowoczesnych rewizji − Bacidia s.l., Caloplaca, Lecanora, Lepraria, Micarea, Verrucaria; rozpowszechnione gatunki porostów występujących w stanie płonnym − Fuscidea pusilla, Mycobilimbia epixanthoides i Ropalospora viridis oraz gatunki, które znalazły się na liście porostów zagrożonych w Polsce (Cieśliński et al. 2003) − Evernia prunastri, Ramalina farinacea, R. fastigiata. Na szczególną uwagę zasługują Bacidina sulphurella, Lecanora albellula, Lepraria ecorticata, Verrucaria praetermissa i V. tectorum.

Opis:: During 2009–2011, in a faunistic survey of kerman province (Southeast of Iran), the mite fauna of Artemisia (Asteraceae) was investigated. Six species belonging to superfamily tetranychoidea were collected and identified. Artemisia aucheri (Asteraceae) is reported as a new host record for four species Bryobia chrysocomae Meyer, 1974; Strunkobia pamirica Livshitz & Mitrofanov, 1972; Bryobia tuttle is miley & Baker, 1995 and Tetranychus urticae Koch, 1836.
Podczas badań faunistycznych w latach 2009–2011w prowincji Kerman (Południowy Iran), badano faunę roztoczy na roślinach z rodzaju Artemisia (Asteraceae). Stwierdzono sześć gatunków roztoczy należących do nadrodziny tetranychoidea. Odnotowano nowy gatunek żywicielski – Artemisia aucheri (Asteraceae) dla czterech gatunków: Bryobia chrysocomae Meyer, 1974; Strunkobia pamirica Livshitz & Mitrofanow, 1972; B. tuttlei Smiley & Baker, 1995 i Tetranychus urticae Koch, 1836.

Opis:: The presence of Dytiscus latissimus L. was discovered in the course of the studies on invertebrates from the Ińsko Lake. This beetle species had not been reported from that region of the country before. Not only is it a rare and protected species in Poland, but it is also featured in the Red List of Threatened species.
W trakcie badań wodnych bezkręgowców jeziora Ińsko stwierdzono występowanie Dytiscus latissimus L. Jest to bardzo rzadko stwierdzany gatunek chrząszcza w Polsce, dotąd nie wykazywany z tej części kraju. Gatunek ten objęty jest w Polsce ochroną gatunkową oraz jest wymieniony w Czerwonej Liście Zwierząt Ginących i Zagrożonych.

Opis:: Two localities of Pupilla pratensis were found in the environs of Gubin and Stęszew, W. Poland. Only one recent record of the species, earlier regarded as an ecotype of the widespread P. muscorum, was known from Poland. Consequently, the distribution and conservation status of the species are not well known. Our data indicate that P. pratensis is rare and has specific habitat requirements. In our study area it was found in only two out of 71 examined localities of a very similar habitat type and sampled on the same occasions. The two localities are wet meadows covered by sedges (mostly Carex acutiforis) growing on a calcareous peat substratum of lacustrine origin; the species is accompanied by two rare and legally protected vertiginids: Vertigo angustior and V. moulinsiana.

Opis:: This is the first report on the occurrence of andromeda lace bug, Stephanitis (Stephanitis) takeyai Drake and Maa, 1955, and rhododendron lace bug, Stephanitis (Stephanitis) rhododendri Horvath, 1905, in Slovakia. Syntopic colonies of both species were found on rhododendron shrubs (Rhododendron sp.) in south-western Slovakia in 2015. The feeding of the lace bugs resulted in damage to infested rhododendrons. Leaves turned yellow and brown, prematurely dropped what led to continuous drying up of twigs and the whole plants. Details on morphology of adult stages of the two species, description of damage symptoms and economic importance of these pests are presented and discussed.

Opis:: The second site of Pupilla alpicola (Charpentier) was found in Poland in 2010. It is a treeless alkaline fen located close to the village of Czarny Dunajec (Nowy Targ region, S. Poland). The site is the north-western extension of the Western Carpathian distribution of the species, being more than 30 km away from the previously known Polish site near Niedzica village and also from its known sites in Slovakia. The first recent record of Pupilla pratensis (Clessin) in Poland was found in the north-eastern most part of Poland close to the border with Lithuania, in the vicinity of the village of Rowele. It is an extension of the species' distribution in NW. Europe and also the eastern most known record of this taxon. Both species are exclusive inhabitants of calcareous fensand fen meadows, highly endangered and mostly isolated, and deserve attention of nature conservation agencies.They seem to be very rare in Poland, because no further population was documented at 25 suitable alkaline fen sites sampled mainly in 2010 and 2011 across the southern and eastern part of Poland.

Opis:: The present study is on the spider fauna of Barasat and Basirhat of North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, India. A total of 23 species belonging to 20 genera and 11 families are sampled during the period August 2016 to July 2017. These include the newly recorded species, Anepsion maritatum (O.P. Cambridge) from the state. The dominant guild is constituted by the Orb web weavers (30.43%). Analysis of their zoogeographical distribution reveals that the fauna apart from being Oriental also includes some Australian (23%), Palaearctic (21.73%) and Ethiopian, Nearctic and Neotropical (each 17.39%) elements. Spiders are mostly prevalent during Postmonsoon (82.60%), followed by Premonsoon (60.86%) and Monsoon (47.82%) which is in conformity with the incidence of the insect species. Two species namely Eriovixia excelsa (Simon) and Leucauge decorata (Blackwall) are recorded throughout the period of survey. All the diversity indices are higher in case of Basirhat as compared to Barasat. An overall negative impact of urbanization on spider diversity, distribution and abundance is evidenced from the present study. Ranking sequence of the most abundant species (six) in descending order are: Leucauge decorata (25.68%) > Eriovixia excelsa (19.13%) > Pholcus phalangioides (11.48%) > Plexippus paykullii (8.74%) > Anepsion maritatum (7.10%) > Cyrtophora cicatrosa (6.56%). Sex ratio (♀ : ♂) is about 12 : 1. Availability of food/season and/or cannibalism may be the factors for female dominated society.

Opis:: Thirty species of lignicolous fungi belonging to Ascomycetes and Basidiomycete are reported from the Ratanmahal Wildlife Sanctuary, Gujarat, India. The new species are Coriolus versicolor, Coriolopsis gallica, Daedalea quercina, F. resupinate, D. unicplor var. hydnoidea, Fomitopsis rosea, Hypodontia comptopsis and Lenzites betulina. F. varigatum is reported for the first time from India. All the species are new to studied area.
