    W artykule przedstawiono istotę modelowania procesów przemysłowych na przykładzie procesu wydobywczego. Przedstawiono dotychczasowe doświadczenia i opracowane modele wykorzystywane w analizie procesu wydobywczego. Zaprezentowano również nowe możliwości analizy procesów w przedsiębiorstwach przemysłowych, w tym również działających w branży górniczej, w oparciu o dzienniki zdarzeń pochodzące z systemów informatycznych.
    The article presents the essence of industrial processes modeling on the example of mining process. Present experiences and developed models used in the analysis of the mining process have been presented. New possibilities of process analysis, based on event logs from information systems in industrial enterprises, including those operating in the mining industry, were also presented.

    Opis:
    In the article reflections on graphical methods and techniques used in improving project management are presented. Based on the conducted research, was noted that in the majority of informatics tools, the creation methods of Gantt’s Chart and network techniques are being used, that allow graphs’ presentation showing project’s schedule task, where the time is a primary variable. It is not possible, by the model of graphics technology used in other areas, such as in medicine, cartography and architecture, browse simultaneously on several project’s levels a number of parameters, which are together in specific relationships and dependencies, that have an impact on decision-making by the project manager and appropriate course of the subsequent stages, which in turn will ensure the achievement of adopted objective.
    W artykule przedstawiono rozważania na temat graficznych metod i technik stosowanych w usprawnieniu zarządzania projektami. Na podstawie przeprowadzonych badań zauważono, że w większości narzędzi informatycznych wykorzystywane są metody tworzenia diagramów Henry’ego Gantta i technik sieciowych, pozwalających na prezentację wykresów ukazujących harmonogram zadań w projekcie, gdzie podstawową zmienną jest czas. Nie ma możliwości, wzorem technologii graficznych stosowanych w innych dziedzinach jak np. w medycynie, kartografii czy architekturze, przeglądania jednocześnie na kilku poziomach projektu, wielu parametrów, będących ze sobą w określonych relacjach i zależnościach, a mających wpływ na podejmowanie decyzji przez kierownika projektu i właściwy przebieg kolejnych etapów, co z kolei zapewni osiągniecie zamierzonego celu.

    Modern Internet serves as a high-performance platform for an ever-increasing number of services. Some of them – video services in particular – are of the broadband variety. So, it is not surprising that segments of networks can rapidly become congested, which may lead to a deterioration in quality. It is hoped that the new MPEG-DASH technique will alleviate congestion. This paper contains an analysis of the new technology’s impact on the quality of service in IP networks. It also explains a new numerical tool QoSCalc(DASH) that has been used to analyze the DASH method in different scenarios. The results are presented graphically and interpreted.

    With traveling professions and nomadic lifestyles on the increase there is a growing need for comprehensive mobile networking within the Next Generation Network, and the security, reliability and technical independency of the Short Message Service (SMS) is becoming more and more indispensable for business processes. Since competitiveness goes hand-in-hand with this business capability, and methods to determine the quality of this service are becoming equally indispensable. This paper presents possible methods to evaluate the “Completion Rate of SMS” and “End-to-End Delivery Time” and combinations of them (new metric in this paper). A software tool, QoSCalc(SMS), has been developed in collaboration with the authors in order to verify whether service providers are abiding by the Service Level Agreements. The tool has been tested in a real measurement environment and the results are presented graphically here and interpreted.

    This paper describes a new measurement method (VS model) for determining the quality of online video services relying on modern H.265/HEVC and VP9 codecs. The said method has been developed on the basis of VQuad-HD curves (according to ITU-T J.341). This model does not refer to signal analysis, but protocol analysis instead. The parameters used are: type of video codec, encoding rate, transport technique, packet loss and burst size. The method may be implemented quickly and easily, which is one of the great advantages when using this method to measure QoS.

    A heuristic core mapping dedicated to multi-path routing algorithm for mesh Network on Chip dedicated to popular stream-based audio decoder algorithms is proposed. The processing units performing stages of a number of decoders are mapped into 2D mesh nodes in order to balance and minimize the bandwidths of the structure links. The experimental results confirming the benefits of the proposed approach are provided.
    W artykule przedstawiono heurystyczny algorytm odwzorowywania aplikacji zdominowanych przez dane do struktury dwuwymiarowej sieci wewnątrzukładowej. Jednostki przetwarzające są odwzorowywane do sieci NoC w sposób zmniejszający i wyrównujący przepustowości magistral wewnątrzukładowych. Do wyznaczania tras użyto wielościeżkowego algorytmu routingu.

    Opis:
    The application of quadcopter and intelligent learning techniques in urban monitoring systems can improve flexibility and efficiency features. This paper proposes a cloud-based urban monitoring system that uses deep learning, fuzzy system, image processing, pattern recognition, and Bayesian network. The main objectives of this system are to monitor climate status, temperature, humidity, and smoke, as well as to detect fire occurrences based on the above intelligent techniques. The quadcopter transmits sensing data of the temperature, humidity, and smoke sensors, geographical coordinates, image frames, and videos to a control station via RF communications. In the control station side, the monitoring capabilities are designed by graphical tools to show urban areas with RGB colors according to the predetermined data ranges. The evaluation process illustrates simulation results of the deep neural network applied to climate status and effects of the sensors’ data changes on climate status. An illustrative example is used to draw the simulated area using RGB colors. Furthermore, circuit of the quadcopter side is designed using electric devices.

    In the process of control of mining machines the problems with development of a classical mathematical model describing phenomena that accompany operation of these machines are presented. These problems are the result of specificity of the process of driving the roadways and the direct reason to undertake trials to use artificial intelligence technologies in modelling of phenomena, which occur during rock-drivage of roadways. The following problems are presented in the paper: -state-of-the-art control systems used in roadheaders, -possibilities of use of artificial neural networks in control systems of mining machines (on the example of a roadheader), -model tests with use of data recorded during drivage of roadway with use of a roadheader, -determination of cutting resistance with use of an artificial neural network to determine the value of set angular speed of a roadheader’s cutter jib in the plane parallel to the roadway floor. Presented model tests are the result of R&D projects associated with designing of an intelligent control system of the roadheader, which are realized at the KOMAG Institute of Mining Technology and at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Silesian University of Technology.
    W procesie sterowania maszyn górniczych występuje wiele czynników, utrudniających przygotowanie klasycznego modelu matematycznego, opisującego zjawiska towarzyszące pracy maszyny. Problemy te, wynikające ze specyfiki procesu drążenia wyrobisk, są bezpośrednią przyczyną podejmowania prób zastosowania technik sztucznej inteligencji w modelowaniu zjawisk występujących w trakcie drążenia wyrobisk korytarzowych (tuneli). W artykule zaprezentowano: - badanie stanu wiedzy z zakresu systemów sterowania kombajnów chodnikowych, - możliwości zastosowania sztucznych sieci neuronowych w układach sterowania maszyn górniczych (na przykładzie kombajnu chodnikowego), - wyniki badań procesu drążenia wyrobiska kombajnem chodnikowym, - określenie oporów skrawania z wykorzystaniem sztucznej sieci neuronowej do wyznaczenia wartości prędkości kątowej wysięgnika kombajnu chodnikowego.

    We analyzed a binary-tree based Network on Chip (NoC) architecture application for data transfer in real-time regime. In typical multimedia algorithms their links are not balanced using typical architectures, so we propose a simple algorithm for IP core mapping that significantly improves the link usage balance. The described experimental results show that the proposed architecture is characterized with lower target chip area and the yielded transfers are comparable with mesh architecture.
    W artykule została przeanalizowana możliwość zastosowania sieci wewnątrzukładowych (ang. Network on Chip, NoC) o architekturze drzewa binarnego do transmisji danych w czasie rzeczywistym dla algorytmów zdominowanych przez dane. Ponieważ w typowych algorytmach multimedialnych połączenia tradycyjnych NoC nie są wykorzystywane w sposób równomierny, wybór odpowiedniej architektury jest krytyczny dla efektywności transmisji danych i w rezultacie dla czasu realizacji obliczeń. W artykule zaproponowano prosty algorytm mapowania bloków IP, który w znacznym stopniu poprawia równomierność wykorzystania połączeń między rdzeniami. Zaprezentowane wyniki badań eksperymentalnych pokazują, że dla zaproponowanej architektury rozmiar docelowego układu będzie mniejszy, a transfery porównywalne z najpopularniejszą obecnie architekturą typu siatki. Uzyskane rezultaty mogą posłużyć do budowy adaptacyjnego algorytmu mapowania algorytmów do struktur sprzętowych z uwzględnieniem szeregu specyficznych ograniczeń algorytmów operujących na danych przesyłanych w czasie rzeczywistym.

    This paper presents the idea of using machine learning techniques to simulate and demonstrate learning behaviour in ship manoeuvring. Simulated model of ship is treated as an agent, which through environmental sensing learns itself to navigate through restricted waters selecting an optimum trajectory. Learning phase of the task is to observe current state and choose one of the available actions. The agent gets positive reward for reaching destination and negative reward for hitting an obstacle. Few reinforcement learning algorithms are considered. Experimental results based on simulation program are presented for different layouts of possible routes within restricted area.
