Opis:
Healthcare systems in Europe are constantly undergoing reforms which adapt them to social, economic and political requirements. The aim of this article is to examine the efficiency of healthcare systems in 30 European countries in 2014. The Network Data Envelopment Analysis (NDEA) model was used. The efficiency of the countries’ overall health systems and their two main components were examined: the public health system and the medical care system. The models include variables that are out of control of policy makers and the ones that can be controlled by them. The research results show that countries which reformed their healthcare systems achieved higher efficiency more often.

Opis:
In the real world, there are processes whose structures are like a parallel-series mixed network. Network data envelopment analysis (NDEA) is one of the appropriate methods for assessing the performance of processes with these structures. In the paper, mixed processes with two parallel and series components are considered, in which the first component or parallel section consists of the shared inputs, and the second component or series section consists of undesirable factors. By considering the weak disposability assumption for undesirable factors, a DEA approach as based on network slackbased measure (NSBM) is introduced to evaluate the performance of processes with mixed structures. The proposed model is illustrated with a real case study. Then, the model is developed to discriminate efficient units.

Opis:
Data envelopment analysis (DEA) is a nonparametric method for evaluating the relative efficiency of decision making units (DMUs) described by multiple inputs and multiple outputs. Since DEA was introduced in the 1970s, it has been widely applied to measure the efficiency of a wide variety of production and operation systems, including two-stage production systems with a series or parallel structure. The outputs from the first stage to the next stage are called intermediate factors (or measures). In some real applications, an intermediate material or some part of it can become the final output or input to the second stage of production. Previously existing models cannot be employed directly to measure the efficiency of such systems. The authors introduce a dynamic DEA model that identifies the structure of flexible intermediate factors to maximise the measure of overall system efficiency.

Opis:
Fulfilling needs and organisational resources with the least cost and highest quality is the main reason to achieve the optimal value chain. Application of most of the current techniques has merely been intended to choose the best scenario. However, industrial units need to build an ideal scenario as a value chain which focuses on intangible interstitial and hidden factors: good (good nature), bad (bad nature), fixed (obligatory nature) and free (not identifying their nature) and creates value. Therefore the model presented in this article answers this issue. First of all, we present a model based on the network approach of data envelopment analysis, then assess and rank the stages based on the scenarios for the stages forming the value chain, and finally the ideal decision unit is presented. For this reason, the general efficiency is designed with two natures; 1. input-centered (concentration on the costs) and 2. output-centered (concentration on the incomes).

Opis:
The public transport service is highly essential to meet the demand due to a rapidly growing population and mobility. Thus providing public service and improve its service becomes an urgent need in recent years. In Iraq, the Bus system represents the backbone in public transportation, which is based mainly on highway infrastructure. To meet the growing mobility needs, enhancing public service provided only by bus routes is essential. Measuring bus route performance represents one of the crucial transit research topics in the last recent years. The current study tries to investigate the urban public route's efficiency utilizing the "data envelopment analysis (DEA)" technique. To analyze route performance, DEA is using, and performance measures include route design, cost, service, operation, and comfort efficiency are selected and calculated for different routes. Efficiency and effectiveness are the output of this process. Bus company owners can also use the results of this study to improve their services, attract new customers, and better manage their resources.

Opis:
Revenue management (RM) deals with selling the right product to the right customer at the right time at the right price through the right channel to maximize revenue. The innovation of RM lies in the way decisions are made. The performance of revenue management approaches can be evaluated against several criteria. Both discrete and continuous multicriteria models can be used to analyse RM. The performance pyramid is a comprehensive, fully integrated per performance system that captures multiple perspectives such as internal, financial, customer and innovation. The assessment is based on a combination of Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), Analytic Network Process (ANP) and Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) approaches. Customer behaviour modelling is gaining increasing attention in revenue management. Customer choice models can be extended with more inputs and more outputs. Evaluation of alternatives can be performed using DEA based evaluation methods. The search for an efficient frontier in a DEA model can be formulated as a multiobjective linear programming problem. We propose to use an Aspiration Level Oriented Procedure (ALOP) to solve the problem.
