Opis:
This article proposes and examines a solution in which the base-station for the fifth generation radio access network is simplified by using a single millimeter-wave oscillator in the central-station and distributing its millimeter-wave signal to the base-stations. The system is designed in such a way that the low-phase-noise signal generated by an opto-electronic oscillator is transmitted from the central-station to multiple base-stations via a passive optical network infrastructure. A novel flexible approach with a single-loop opto-electronic oscillator at the transmitting end and a tunable dispersion-compensation module at the receiving end(s) is proposed to distribute a power-penalty-free millimeter-wave signal in the radio access network. Power-penalty-free signal transmission from 10 MHz up to 45 GHz with an optical length of 20 km is achieved by a combination of a tunable dispersion-compensation module and an optical delay line. In addition, measurements with a fixed modulation frequency of 39 GHz and discretely incrementing optical fiber lengths from 0.625 km to 20 km are shown. Finally, a preliminary idea for an automatically controlled feedback-loop tuning system is proposed as a further research entry point.

W artykule przedstawiono projekt sieci bezprzewodowej Wi-Fi oparty na punktach dostępowych Aerohive 130. Przeprowadzono analizę niezawodności zaprojektowanej sieci w sytuacji, której mamy do czynienia z awarią jednego lub dwóch punktów dostępowych. Przeanalizowano szereg scenariuszy oraz wykonano symulację z wykorzystaniem narzędzi do projektowania sieci Aerohive On-line Wi-Fi Planner oraz Hive Manager. Wykonano pomiary siły sygnału zaprojektowanej sieci przy użyciu programu Ekahau Heat Mapper. Przedstawiono analizę ryzyka dla wybranych scenariuszy. Zastosowanie trzech punktów dostępowych Aerohive 130 pozwala na uzyskanie odpowiedniego pokrycia sieci i akceptowalnego poziomu ryzyka związanego z wystąpieniem awarii punktu dostępowego.
The authors presented a Wi-Fi wireless network project based on Aerohive 130 access points. An analysis of the reliability of the designed network in a situation where one or two access points fail was carried out. A number of scenarios were analyzed and simulations were carried out using the Aerohive On-line Wi-Fi Planner and Hive Manager network design tools. The signal strength of the designed network was measured using the Ekahau Heat Mapper program. Risk analysis for selected scenarios is presented. The use of three Aerohive 130 access points allows for adequate coverage of the network and an acceptable level of risk associated with the failure of the access point.

Overview of the issues of the telecommunications network access, described in the policy documents of the European Union Commission was made. Regulatory issues of network access, with special view on the obligations imposed on operators with significant market power was presented. A comparative analysis of prices in different European countries was carried out. Reference offer of Polish incumbent operator TP SA was evaluated as well.

Packet-switched xHaul networks are a scalable solution enabling convergent transport of diverse types of radio data flows, such as fronthaul / midhaul / backhaul (FH / MH / BH) flows, between remote sites and a central site (hub) in 5G radio access networks (RANs). Such networks can be realized using the cost-efficient Ethernet technology, which enhanced with time-sensitive networking (TSN) features allows for prioritized transmission of latency-sensitive fronthaul flows. Provisioning of multiple types of 5G services of different service requirements in a shared network, commonly referred to as network slicing, requires adequate handling of transported data flows in order to satisfy particular service / slice requirements. In this work, we investigate two traffic prioritization policies, namely, flowaware (FA) and latency-aware (LA), in a packet-switched xHaul network supporting slices of different latency requirements. We evaluate the effectiveness of the policies in a networkplanning case study, where virtualized radio processing resources allocated at the processing pool (PP) facilities, for two slices related to enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB) and ultra-reliable low latency communications (URLLC) services, are subject to optimization. Using numerical experiments, we analyze PP cost savings from applying the LA policy (vs. FA) in various network scenarios. The savings in active PPs reach up to 40% − 60% in ring scenarios and 30% in a mesh network, whereas the gains in overall PP cost are up to 20% for the cost values assumed in the analysis.

Opis:
The paper presents the design and the rationale behind a simple verification protocol for autonomous verification modules, and the architecture enabling use of such modules. The architecture assumes strict separation of all personal metadata and the actual verification data. The paper also describes a prototype implementation of the protocol and its extension enabling the state of the module to be monitored from the main system. The proposed design solves the problem of using advanced verification methods, especially biometric ones, in systems where direct implementation is not possible due to hardware incompatibilities, insufficient resources or other limitations.

W artykule przedstawiony został problem korzystania z infrastruktury liniowej transportu drogowego jako dobra powszechnego w odniesieniu do którego wprowadzono ograniczenie dostępu i użytkowania. Drogi publiczne pozostają majątkiem ogólnonarodowym (z wyjątkiem części autostrad) dla którego powstania wykorzystano publiczne środki finansowe. Przedmiotowy dostęp w różnej formie limitowany niewątpliwie dzieli użytkowników wspomnianej infrastruktury. Pojawiający się problem niedostatecznej podaży dróg do swobodnego ruchu pojazdów świadczy o niewłaściwościach – paradoksach gospodarczych. Rejestruje się kolejne pojazdy nie przydzielając im odcinków nowych dróg niezbędnych do bezpiecznego poruszania się. Niniejszy artykuł stanowi pierwszą część.
Road transport infrastructure is the state assets providing to the public. Sometimes with the designated extra fee. However usage of this infrastructure can often be only in the limited range. This limitation has an administrative nature. Users are not always interested in accepting all of these restrictions

The approach effectively bypass the restrictions on access to websites based on the http-tunneling with minimal cost, combined with the approach of peer to peer networks. The description of the algorithm and a description of its key features. A new approach to the problem of accessibility of websites has many advantages and overcomes the disadvantages of existing solutions in the form of anonymous networks - use of special nodal solutions and a strong dependence on the number of network nodes anonymous.
Opisana w artykule metoda pozwala ominąć ograniczenia w dostępie do stron internetowych w oparciu o tunelowanie HTTP przy zachowaniu minimalnego kosztu w połączeniach peer to peer. Artykuł zawiera opis algorytmu oraz jego kluczowe funkcje. Nowe podejście do problemu dostępności stron internetowych ma wiele zalet i eliminuje wady istniejących rozwiązań w postaci anonimowych sieci - wykorzystanie specjalnych rozwiązań węzłowych i silną zależność od liczby węzłów sieci anonimowych.

The paper addresses the research of data transmission technologies in telecommunication access networks. These networks are characterized by limited bandwidth and are suitable for high speed data transmission. Particular attention is paid on the data transmission technologies in telecommunication access networks based on symmetrical telecommunication lines. Paper proposes the method of adaptive data transmission in telecommunication access networks using amplitude modulation of many components. The results of mathematical modeling are presented, which allows estimating the bit error rate decrease in telecommunication access networks using this method.

This paper presents novel mechanisms that effectively detect password file thefts and at the same time prevent uncovering passwords. The proposed mechanism uses delay between consecutive keystrokes of the password characters. In presented case, a user should not only enter his password correctly during the sign-up process, but also needs to introduce relatively large time gaps between certain password characters. The proposed novel approaches disguise stored passwords by adding a suffix value that helps in detecting password file theft at the first sign-in attempt by an adversary who steals and cracks the hashed password file. Any attempt to login using a real password without adding the time delays in the correct positions may considered as an impersonation attack, i.e. the password file has been stolen and cracked.

Purpose: The aim of the article is to examine if difficulty of access to cash may influence the financial exclusion in Poland. Design/methodology/approach: The analysis was performed using microdata collected in the survey on payment habits of Polish consumers and spatial data on ATMs locations. Estimated distance to points where cash can be withdrawn together with feature of respondents of the state of possession of a payment account helps to identify relationships between access to cash and financial exclusion. To prove significance of the relationship, a statistical test is used. Findings: The Covid-19 pandemic has highlighted the existence of a real risk associated with the problem of the physical availability of cash, which is caused by the systematic reduction of the network of ATMs and commercial bank branches handling cash, which are the main points where consumers can withdraw it. This may consequently lead to financial and social exclusion of certain groups of consumers for whom cash is the main, or even the only, means of making payments. Results support the thesis that payment account without (real) option of easy access to cash may discourage consumers from opening the account and contribute to increased financial exclusion. It is especially visible in rural regions and small towns where we observe high level of exclusion (lack of payment accounts) and longer distance to the nearest ATM. Research limitations/implications: The presented results were based on simple statistical analyses. Further research should include econometric modeling using logit/probit models. Originality/value: The obtained results are the first on the impact of access to cash on financial exclusion in Poland and consistent with the situation in other European countries. The results allow to show the importance of access to physical money in a broader context than just having means of payment to pay for purchases.
Cel: celem artykułu jest zbadanie czy trudność w dostępie do gotówki może wpływać na wykluczenie finansowe w Polsce. Projekt/metodologia/podejście: do analizy wykorzystano mikrodane zebrane w badaniu zwyczajów płatniczych polskich konsumentów oraz dane przestrzenne dotyczące lokalizacji bankomatów. Oszacowana odległość do punktów wypłaty gotówki wraz z charakterystyką respondentów dotyczącą stanu posiadania rachunku płatniczego pozwoliła na identyfikację związku pomiędzy dostępem do gotówki a wykluczeniem finansowym. Aby wykazać istotność tej zależności, zastosowano test statystyczny. Wyniki: pandemia Covid-19 uwydatniła istnienie realnego ryzyka związanego z problemem fizycznej dostępności gotówki, co jest spowodowane systematycznym zmniejszaniem się sieci bankomatów i oddziałów banków komercyjnych obsługujących gotówkę, będących głównymi punktami, w których konsumenci mogą ją wypłacać. Może to w konsekwencji prowadzić do wykluczenia finansowego i społecznego niektórych grup konsumentów, dla których gotówka jest głównym, a nawet jedynym środkiem dokonywania płatności. Wyniki potwierdzają tezę, że rachunek płatniczy bez (rzeczywistej) opcji łatwego dostępu do gotówki może zniechęcić konsumentów do otwierania rachunku i przyczynić się do wzrostu wykluczenia finansowego. Jest to szczególnie widoczne na obszarach wiejskich i w małych miastach, gdzie obserwuje się wysoki poziom wykluczenia (brak rachunku płatniczego) i większą odległość do najbliższego bankomatu. Ograniczenia/wnioski z badań: prezentowane wyniki bazowały na prostych analizach statystycznych. Dalsze badania powinny uwzględnić modelowanie ekonometryczne z wykorzystaniem modeli logit/probit. Oryginalność/wartość: uzyskane tutaj wyniki są pierwszymi w obszarze wpływu dostępu do gotówki na wykluczenie finansowe w Polsce i spójne ze stanem w innych krajach europejskich. Wyniki pozwalają na wykazanie ważności dostępu do fizycznego pieniądza w szerszym kontekście niż tylko posiadanie środków płatniczych służących do dokonywania płatności za zakupy.

Opis:
We present a method of finding the expected volume of requests in HM-network with homogeneous requests and bypass of the queueing systems of requests. The case was considered when the volume changes associated with the transitions between the states of the network are deterministic functions, depending on the state of the network and time, and the systems are single line. It is assumed that the probability of the states of the network systems, the parameters of the entrance flow of the requests and the service depend on the time.

Artykuł przedstawia główne zmiany wprowadzone do ustawy o wspieraniu rozwoju usług i sieci telekomunikacyjnych. Omówiono w nim zmiany zakresu przedmiotowego i podmiotowego ustawy. Przedstawiona została definicja infrastruktury technicznej – nowego pojęcia, jakim posługuje się ustawa. Opisano także zasady dostępu do infrastruktury technicznej oraz kwestie obowiązków informacyjnych ciążących na operatorach, a także uprawnienie przedsiębiorców telekomunikacyjnych do inspekcji infrastruktury technicznej. Uwzględniono nowe uregulowania dotyczące ochrony infrastruktury ze względów bezpieczeństwa, zdrowia, obronności i porządku publicznego. Zostały również omówione skrótowo przepisy dotyczące punktu informacyjnego do spraw telekomunikacji oraz koordynacji robót budowlanych.
The article presents the main changes to the law on supporting the development of broadband services and networks. Changes in the subject and object scope of the Act were described. Article presents the definition of the technical infrastructure – as a new concept in the law Discussed is the principle of access to technical infrastructure and issues of information obligations imposed on operators, and telecommunications company’s right to inspect the technical infrastructure. Separate paragraph is devoted to the protection of infrastructure because of safety, health, defense and public order. Briefly presented are provisions on the point of information for telecommunications. The article also presents the new rules on coordination of construction works.

Opis:
W opracowaniu przedstawiono koncepcję e-Gminy, która odpowiada obserwowanym współcześnie zmianom, będącym konsekwencją rozwoju teleinformatyki i społeczeństwa informacyjnego. Szczególną uwagę poświęcono uwarunkowaniom technologicznym wdrażania e-Gminy, tj. infrastrukturze sieci e-Gminy, a także rozważono kwestię wpływu teleinformatyki, wykorzystywanej w ramach omawianej koncepcji, na funkcjonowanie jednostek samorządu terytorialnego, ich mieszkańców, jak również lokalnych przedsiębiorców.
The paper presents the concept of e-Municipality, which corresponds to the today observed changes, as the consequence of the development of ICT and the information society. Particular attention was paid to the technological determinants of e-Municipality implementation, i.e. network infrastructure of e-Municipality and there was considered the impact of ICT, used as a part of discussed concept, on the functioning of local governments and their citizens, as well as local businesses.

Opis:
W artykule przedstawiono metody i środki dostępu do specjalizowanych środowisk laboratoryjnych na przykładzie stanowiska urządzeń sieciowych. Zaprezentowano możliwości wirtualizacji stanowisk urządzeń sieciowych oraz zaproponowano własną metodę zdalnego udostępniania rzeczywistych urządzeń sieciowych. Dzięki takiemu podejściu możliwe staje się realizowanie zajęć laboratoryjnych z sieci komputerowych w formie nauczania na odległość.
The paper presents the methods and means of access to specialized laboratory environments on the example a network devices laboratory. The possibilities of virtualization of network devices stand are presented and own method of remote access to the network devices test stand are presented. With this approach it is possible to implement computer network laboratory classes in the form of distance learning.
