Trust to modern telecommunications networks plays an important role as a driver of technological and market success of any technology or telecommunication services. Most of the technological approaches to this problem are focused only on network security and do not include such a factor as the quality of service (QoS), which also plays an important role in the formation of trust both from the consumers and the regulator. The future 5G mobile technology will be the engine of development of telecommunications until 2020 and the formation of trust to the 5G networks is one of the main tasks for developers. The authors present the view on the trust to 5G networks in the plane of QoS requirements formation and QoS management. QoS requirements to 5 G networks were determined on the basis of three main business models of services: xMBB, M-MTC and U-MTC and the need to ensure user trust to networks. Infrastructure requirements for QoS control and spectrum management network entities which are based on Network Function Virtualization (NFV) principles have been formed.

The IP over optical (IPO) network is becoming one of the most interesting among all proposed models of transport networks nowadays. In an IPO network, the reconfiguration capability of the network could be used in order to balance the load of its network elements (NEs). Reconfiguration operations (i.e., switching in OXC nodes and rerouting in IP routers) take place in real-time. Consequently, intensive changes in NEs settings might cause failures in the existing connections in the network. For that reason, changes in Nes settings should be coordinated in a reconfiguration process. In this paper, the author has proposed an optimization method for such reconfiguration process. The mathematical model of the method including computation results has been presented.

In the paper, we describe a "plug-and-play" configuration of nodes of a tactical network on the basis of XML configuration templates and a network plan, developed during the network planning process. We present the concept of a configuration repository, an XML-based database that stores network structure and configuration data, and describe how the Simple Network Management Protocol is used to apply the settings to network devices. We also comment on a possible use of the next-generation NETCONF protocol for such a task.

The article discusses the results of an analysis of student’s drawings/sketches and interviews about the internal structure of the human body. The problems discussed in this article have an interdisciplinary approach. Our goal was not a psychological analysis of children’s drawings, but the presentation of such productions in the light of two dimensions (drawing and sketching) and the justification of highlighting them in relation to research in the field of cognitive science. Hence, the analysis of graphic productions is presented from a didactic dimension (e.g. the scale used to classify children’s graphical products), biological (anatomy) and cognitive – classifying them as drawings or sketches. The latest findings from neuroscience suggest that there are three networks involved in our brain – default, executive, and salient. Each of these networks generates different energy costs, involves different ways of processing information, or different effects resulting from its recruitment. The authors claim that the graphic may also reflect the involvement of one of the networks. While drawings are produced by using the executive network, sketches are the results of implementing a default network. Both drawings and sketches make it possible to explore the children’s conceptions on a given topic. The differences between them are revealed when within this product, one might (or might not) find a reflection of subjectivity. While the executive network run by drawing allows one to reflect a concept, to answer a question, the inclusion of the default network allows one to run the autobiographical memory, to ask questions, and to search for an answer.

The problem solution of security control of wireless computer network nodes, which is based on the use of the apparatus of fuzzy sets is presented in this article. The approach used in the paper aims to an automation that will improve the efficiency of control of the nodes and operations of a network administrator. The approach allows forming a system of security control of the wireless computer network based on neuro-fuzzy (hybrid) network, which is characterized by high adaptability, ease use, the ability to identify better the sequence of the analysis of vulnerabilities in the wireless computer network nodes. The feature of the proposed approach takes the dynamic nature of the wireless computer network into account.

The overview study contains the most important issues decisive for ensuring the security of logistics ICT networks in the context of contemporary threats, at the same time bearing in mind their military dimension. The author first of all compares economic and hierarchical organizations based on the example of the armed forces. He also referred to the ICT networks of logistics of other uniformed formations.

Live multimedia streaming and on-demand streaming applications (such as Internet radio or Internet TV) have been gaining more popularity in recent years. They require significant amount of bandwidth from media streaming servers and can easily saturate network infrastructure when the number of participant or bit rate of streaming content increases. Overlay multicast is an effective approach to the problem of streaming distribution. It combines flexibility of application layer multicast with efficiency of network layer multicast. Since overlay networks are built on the top of existing infrastructure, the cost of maintenance and deployment of this solution is relatively low compared to traditional Content Distribution Networks (CDN). Based on our previous works, we focus on solving the overlay network design problem to economically distribute content among the participants using overlay multicast. The optimization goal is to minimize the overlay network cost expressed by the cost of access links. Additionally, we assume that the maximum total delay of a streaming tree is upper bounded to provide QoS (Quality of Service) guarantees. We present two approaches to this problem and construct model using Levels and Flow Conservation Constraints. We show how various constraints following from real overlay systems influence the behavior of the distributing system. In numerical experiments we use real ISPs' price lists. To illustrate our approach we present optimal results obtained from the CPLEX solver.

Research background: The global banking network has been undergoing structural changes since the recent financial crisis. Previous studies on connectedness of global banking network during post-crisis period revealed the trends of regionalization and segmentation. Our previous research has also shown that during post-crisis period the level of regionalization within the EU banking network has increased; the network became more clustered and more decentralized. This paper continues our research of structural changes of EU banking network during post-crisis period by adding a global context and questioning the connectedness of EU banking network within global banking system. Purpose of the article: The aim of the paper is to evaluate the EU banking network's connectedness in the global context during the post-crisis period. Methods: network analysis method and data on yearly flows of BIS bilateral interbank cross-border claim were used to evaluate the connectedness of global and EU banking systems. Findings & Value added: Evaluation of the global banking network's connected-ness revealed that global banking network density decreased by 4.50 %, suggesting that connectedness is decreasing, but it is happening slowly. Structural changes in the global banking network did happen during post-crisis period with regards to out-degree, betweenness and closeness centrality indicators. In the global context, the EU banking network became more connected during post-crisis period. The EU banking network was regionalized in 2011, but this regionalization disappeared in 2015, as the level of intraregional density decreased in 2015 and became lower than the interregional density. This research contributes to previous research in a way that it applies intraregional and interregional network density measures for evaluation of the EU banking network's connectedness, and analyses it as a subset of the global banking network.

In view of the characteristics of low speed mobile ship network, strong network dynamics and large signal interference, this paper proposes a low-rate mobile sensor network routing algorithm. In mobile wireless sensor networks, network topology changes frequently is a new challenge for resource constrained sensor node. Constantly updated network topology, sensor nodes need to exchange data frequently in order to maintain fresh route, resulting in sensor nodes consume a lot of energy. To solve this problem, to reduce control overhead is considered to be an effctive strategy. In this paper, we present a vector network-based dynamic routes (VNDR) scheme aims to minimize the control cost of the sensor nodes. We propose data exchange based on binary-coded vector address to reduce the control cost, moreover, we present a set of communication rules that govern the routes search procedure thereby requiring little cost of packet analysis to determine the next hop of node. VNDR performance was compared with well known scheme such as SPIN and DD. Simulation results show that, our VNDR scheme reduced the network control overhead and improved network lifetime.
