Opis:
This article aims to assess the income situation of households in Poland, considering the level of receipts and income as well as their dynamics and structure. An analysis was also carried out with respect to differences between particular socio-economic groups and between households depending on the number of persons in a household. The Gini coefficient was used for analytical purposes. Moreover, an attempt was made to identify the causes of income diversification. The analysis was carried out based on data derived from household budget surveys conducted by Statistics Poland. The research covered the period from 2000 to 2019 (individual years). The study showed a real increase in the average monthly net receipts and available income in all households. The most favour[1]able financial situation was observed in white-collar workers, self-employed persons and one-person households. The least favourable income situation was found in households of blue[1]collar workers and pensioners and households of six or more persons. However, attention should also be paid to changes taking place in the structure of sources of income generated by household members. There is an increase in income from hired work and social assistance benefits. The highest variations in receipts and available income were observed in households of farmers and those of six or more persons. In contrast, the smallest variations were recorded with respect to households of old-age pensioners and one-person households.

Opis:
The author deals with the concept of household wealth and discusses empirical measures of wealth used in consumption functions in relation to the concept of wealth resulting from the theory of consumer choice. To find a middle ground between different measures of household wealth and empirical data, the author proposes a method for building several time series of net assets in the context of the wealth concept derived from the theory of consumer choice. The measure of household wealth constructed on the basis of the proposed method served as a starting point for constructing narrower measures of household wealth. The widest measure of wealth involved private sector net assets, which is the most adequate approach to explaining private consumption, Zachłod-Jelec says. The author uses charts to show the constructed measures of wealth and net asset values published by the Central Statistical Office (GUS). There is also a graphic analysis of the constructed measures of household wealth and consumption based on GUS data. A preliminary analysis of the constructed measures of household/private sector wealth and consumption – in terms of their use in the structural model of the Polish economy – shows that these measures adequately reflect household consumption, Zachłod-Jelec says. She concludes that the ultimate evaluation of the different measures of household wealth should be based on estimating the consumption function with the use of an appropriate time series.

Opis:
This article focused on comparing the development of the price level of the water and sewerage charge rates in the regions of the Czech Republic to the development of macroeconomic indicators expressing the performance of the individual region. The following were selected as macroeconomic indicators: gross domestic product, gross domestic product per capita, net disposable income of households, net disposable income of households per capita and average gross wage. The Czech Republic is divided into 14 regions. In each region, a different price level of the water and sewerage charge rate was determined. At the same time, each region had a different performance which is represented by the above-mentioned macroeconomic indicators. It follows from the definition of Act No. 274/2001 Coll., the water supply and sewerage systems operation is in the public interest. This raised the research question of whether regions with lower performance also have a lower price level of water and sewerage charge rates from the point of view of the purchasing power of the inhabitants of this region. Confirmation or rejection of this hypothesis was based on the creation of 91 matrix expressions. The input data for the creation of matrices contained 196 items of data on the price level of the water and sewerage charge rates and 1,176 items of data on macroeconomic indicators. The hypothesis was not confirmed as only 1 region met the condition, namely the Olomouc Region, which had a lower price level of water and sewerage charge rates and lower efficiency.
