    Opis:
    Pleomorphic adenoma is benign tumor of the salivary glands. It is the most common neoplazm both major and minor salivary glands. Only in 1% of cases pleomorphic adenoma occur in the sinonasal cavities. The histopalogical wiew of pleomorphic adenomas originating from small salivary glands is different in higher cellularity and lower stromal component than those from major salivary glands. It is a benign tumor but it should be treated as a clinically uncertain. Malignant transformation of pleomorphic adenoma can occur in 2-10% of cases, The aim of this study was to present he case of 37-year-old patient with giant pleomorphic adenoma of the sinonasal cavities causing extensive destruction of sinuses and orbits walls.

    Opis:
    Introduction: Juvenile psammomatoid ossifying fibroma is a rare benign head and neck neoplasm that develops most commonly in children and young adults in the nasal cavity, paranasal sinuses or the orbit. It can have a locally malignant character with a tendency to destroy surrounding structures. The treatment of choice is surgical removal of the lesion. Depending on the location of the tumor and surgeon’s preferences, it is recommended to use endoscopic or external approach, with the first one being the procedure of choice. Considering the risk of massive intraoperative bleeding, it is necessary to protect blood products before surgery. Case report: We present a case of a 41-year-old patient treated in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery of the Medical University of Warsaw.

    Opis:
    Malignant melanoma is highly aggressive type of malignant neoplasm. The skin of the head and neck region is common localisation for appearance of this tumour due to exposition to the sun light. However, some number of cases concern development of the malignant melanoma on the mucous membranes. Most common signs are epistaxis and nasal obstruction. Late diagnosis effects with poor clinical prognosis. In our case, despite complete surgical resection and adjuvant therapy, outcome of the treatment was unsatisfying, because of metastasis and local recurrence.

    Mechanizm powstawania urazu ciśnieniowego zatok zależy od tego, z której strony zamknięty jest przewód łączący zatokę z jamą nosową. Przy zamknięciu ujścia od strony nosa, do urazu dochodzi podczas zanurzania (sprężania) - typ "descend". Przeciwnie do urazu podczas wynurzania (rozprężania) - typ "ascend" może doprowadzić zamknięcie przewodu łączącego zatokę z nosem od strony zatoki. Wykładnikami morfologicznymi urazu są: przekrwienie błony śluzowej, wzrost wydzielania i krwawienie oraz przesięk do wnętrza zatoki. Głównymi objawami ostrego urazu ciśnieniowego zatok jest silny ból okolicy zatok. W profilaktyce urazu ciśnieniowego zatok decydujące znaczenie ma wykonanie zdjęcia Rtg. zatok przynosowych przed rozpoczęciem nurkowania i konsultacja laryngologiczna. Jeżeli dojdzie do urazu, podaje się środki przeciwbólowe i, aby zapobiec ropnemu zapaleniu zatok, zaleca się stosowanie środków anemizujących błonę śluzową, antybiotyków i leków przeciwzapalnych. Można również zastosować ciepłe okłady, a po ukończonym leczeniu farmakologicznym fizykoterapię.
    The mechanism of sinusal pressure injury development depends on which side the passage connecting the sinus with nasal cavity is blocked. With the opening on the side of the nose blocked, the injury occurs during submerging (compression) - "descend" type. On the contrary, the blocked passage connecting the nose with the sinus on its side may lead to the injury during emerging (decompression) - "ascend" type. Morphological indications of the injury are: congestion of nasal mucosa, increased secretion, bleeding and transudate inside the sinus. The main symptom of acute pressure injury of nasal sinuses is the severe pain in the sinusal region during diving. In the prophylaxis of pressure injury of sinuses taking an X-ray of nasal sinuses and laryngologic consultation before diving is of crucial importance. If it comes to injury, analgetic agents are administered and, in order to prevent suppurative inflammation of sinuses, it is recommended to adminster agents anaemizing nasal mucosa, antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs. Warm compresses may also be applied and after pharmacological treatment completion - physiotherapy
