Opis:
Objectives of the research: The aim of the theoretical research is to elicit the meaning of improving narrative competence, particularly narrative analysis for developing teachers’ reflective skills. Research issues or problems: The research question is posed as follows: Can a narrative, narrative analysis in particular, foster development of teachers’ reflective skills, and if so, how? Research methods: The method used in the research is hermeneutic analysis, which matches the field of content narrative analysis. A short description of the context of the issue: The content analyzed in the text is descriptions of narrative, narrative competence, and narrative analysis, as well as reflective skills such as being, disclosing speaking, testing, and probing – according to concept of Joseph Raelin, to some extent. An important goal of the research is to show the significant meaning of narrative competence, especially narrative analysis, for developing reflective skills by teacher–practitioners. The relationships between narrative, narrative analysis, and improving these skills can induce the need to add another skill, such as an implicative one, that would be crucial for further personal and professional development towards achieving a higher level of self-identity. Process of argumentation: The research began the selection of an appropriate scope of terms which match one another and can achieve the aim and answer the research question. The analysis of these terms led to building the relationships between narrative, narrative competence, and reflective skills, followed by narrative analysis and reflective skills that are important for personal and professional teacher development. That resulted in some implications that may be useful in educating teachers and students and for education in general.Findings: The results show the importance of the relationship between the aspects described above. Additionally, original, result occurred in creating a new reflective skill, such as the implicative one dedicated to further self-development. Conclusions and recommendations: The hermeneutic analysis revealed a correlation between the development of a teacher’s narrative competence, particularly narrative analysis, and practicing reflective skills. However, further research is needed to bring about changes in educating both teachers and students, which demands attention be paid to the authentic reflective/narrative approach in practice. This could be reflected in core curriculum subjects in university and secondary school education.

Opis:
Journalists play a crucial role in the reporting of events, especially in tragic circumstances, such as terrorist attacks. An all-news network must maintain a dramatic tension throughout the events, sometimes for long hours, although the reporters dispatched to the site are not always able to provide new elements. On the basis of the partial information transmitted from various sources, the on-site journalists have to develop a coherent story that captures the audience’s attention. This explains why the staging of the information is not only based on the emotions of the witnesses and on-site reporters, but also on narrative stereotypes or social scripts, leading to a form of fictionalization. Our study, which uses the methods of discourse analysis, takes into account the emotional lexicon and the way in which the interaction between the various protagonists of the journalistic discourse shapes the televisual macronarrative. It is based on a transcribed corpus of two hours of live news broadcast by BFM, a French news channel, during the attacks that took place in Paris on November 13, 2015.

Opis:
This article investigates the ascension accounts (Luke 24:50-53 and Acts 1:9-11) in a narrative way. The main analysis point will be the question: why is one event recounted twice: at the end of the first Lukan volume and the beginning of the second? The second question concerns the meaning of the discrepancies between the two pericopes. We argue that all differences can be explained by Luke’s literary and narrative strategy. Luke 24:50-53 recounts the recognition of Jesus. Acts 1:9-11 marks the end of the period (between resurrection and ascension) needed for the disciples to become the legitimate and authoritative successors of Jesus.

Opis:
This paper analyses the different versions of the Elijah cycle (1 Kgs 17–19) as witnessed, in particular, in the Masoretic text (MT), the Codex Vaticanus (GB), the Codex Alexandrinus (GA), and the Antiochian text (GAnt.). The comparison of the manuscripts shows that the MT adds and omits certain words and expressions. The author explored whether the additions and omissions are scribal mistakes or rather an intentional redactional intervention. Arguing for the latter, the author proposes that the MT presents not only the great deeds of the great prophet Elijah but also how Elijah became such a great prophet. Based on this analysis, the author proposes five stages of Elijah’s formation process: 1 . t he transformation of a man into a listener (1 Kgs 17:2–6); 2. Elijah’s transformation into a man of God’s word (the Cherith episode and the Zarephath episode in 17:7–16); 3. the transformation from a man of God’s word into a man of God (the resuscitation of the dead son in 17:17–24); 4. the transformation from a man of God into a prophet (the Carmel episode 18:1–40); 5. the transformation of a zealous prophet into a man standing before the Lord (19:1–18).

Opis:
Studies on narcissism and narcissistic personality disorder often emphasize the key role of self-esteem in the mechanisms of this disorder. In previous studies, self-esteem has often been treated as a permanent feature of an individual and has been tested using self-report questionnaires or, in some cases, using experimental methods. Assuming that self-esteem may differ depending on the situation, different methods should be used in order to observe and study the processes related to it. In order to collect self-narratives for the purposes of the study, a semi-structured interview method was prepared to examine the self-esteem regulation in social situations. During the interview, the participant answers questions related to personal life experiences. Based on the content of interviews of participants with a high level of narcissistic traits selected from 20 conducted interviews, a preliminary analysis of the proactivity and defensiveness of self-narratives was conducted. The analysis mainly concerns the autonarratives of experiences related to failures and conflicts as events particularly significant for the self-esteem of an individual. The results of the preliminary analyzes allow us to present conclusions regarding proactivity and defensiveness as well as the characteristics of self-narratives referring to self-esteem in narcissistic group.

Opis:
The connection between personal story and morality has been long enunciated, but remains under-researched. Combining moral and narrative theory, this article approaches this relation by introducing a line of narrative inquiry oriented towards the exploration of how ethical intentions with regard to the good life manifest in and shape the biographical storyline and the self narratively assembled. The analysis encompasses a first case-based stage focused on the examination of the main motive of the personal story and its effects upon the organization of both self and narrative, followed by a comparative phase in which storylines and moral motives that work as reference of a set of biographical accounts belonging to different social positions, temporalities, or geographies are contrasted in order to establish linkages, breaks, and transformations in the relation between identity and morality across cases. This line of inquiry is applied into a research about intergenerational changes and continuities in the relation between selfhood and morality, based on life stories conducted with Chilean people of successive generations. In the conclusions, this strategy of narrative analysis is assessed in the light of current development of this field of qualitative social research.

Jesus’ being with the wild beasts in the desert during His temptations is mentioned only in the Gospel of Mark (1:13). His victory over Satan is confirmed by the state of peaceful harmony with the nature surrounding Him, and by the service of the angels to Him. Several other references to animals in Mark emphasize the reality of God’s saving activity offered to men and women in the midst of their real, everyday condition and needs. All of this gospel's references to the beasts serve as examples of this kind of immediacy and reality, whether reported indirectly or directly, and whether understood literally or figuratively.

Opis:
In the story of King David’s kingdom, the author of the Second Book of Samuel describes not only historical facts, but by means of various narrative and stylistic devices, allows the reader to enter the world of the personalities, interrelationships and inner experiences of the various characters. The narrative of 2Sam 18:19-19:9 is distinguished by dynamic shifts in perspective and action, long moments of complication, the use of different characters and irony to make the characteristics of the protagonist visible. Consequently, the story of David, who learns of the death of his son Absalom, is the story of a man facing an internal conflict concerning the roles assigned to him by life – father and king. This conflict breaks the heart of the legendary King David, which at the same time makes his character, caught up in conflicting emotions, closer to the ordinary reader.
Narracja 2 Sam 18:19-19:9 wyróżnia się dynamicznymi zmianami perspektyw i akcji, długimi momentami komplikacji, wykorzystaniem różnych postaci i ironii do uwidocznienia cech bohatera.

Opis:
The article explains how ideas, characters and images borrowed from literary works and of fine arts are represented in Liszt’s the piano works of (i.e. with the help of motives, themes and narrative strategies). I. The first level of analysis concerns the typology of basic elements in the new lisztian forms: A. Four types of musical motives or figures and their signifieds (semes). B. Sixteen types of musical themes with their signifieds (classemes). C. Considering the great parts or sections of a piece we discovered seven types with their signifieds (isotopies). II. The second level of analysis consists in the presentation of three types of narrative strategies. The narrative strategy would mean the conscious organization of concatenation of the above mentioned signifying elements. A. The “figurative strategy” refers to the formal variation [‘Formalvariation” in German] of onetheme, or of one “thematic complex” (theme introduced and followed by expressive describing motives or refrain), for example: Sposalizio. B. The “simple narrative strategy” consists in a succession of character variations [‘Charaktervariation’], i.e. variation in the musical genre, in the signified of one musical theme (for example: Vallee d’Obermanri). C. The “complex narrative strategy” describes the structures which combine sonata form, cyclical sonata in four movements and variation form. This strategy implies that a whole thematic complex (exposition) is submitted to different stages of the character variation (for example: Dante sonata, Sonata in B minor, 2nd Ballade in B minor, etc.).

W swoich narracjach dążą do zmiany archetypicznych wyobrażeń społecznych  o osobach chorych, udowadniając, że mogą one profesjonalnie pełnić szereg funkcji  zawodowych i społecznych.
The article examines the narratives of public figures about their experience of mental crisis. The goal was to apply narrative analysis to the stories of the subjects’ experiences and roles in relation to the disease. The results of the analysis have shown that in their statements both people make a revolution and transgress social taboos, exposing themselves to criticism from their professional environment, as well as from a multitude of observers, followers, fans. In their narratives, they strive to change the society’s archetypal perceptions of sick people, proving that they can adequately perform a range of professional and social functions. Both seek different ways to bring audiences closer to their experiences, appealing to feelings of alienation, entanglement, and undeserved suffering. Mental health crisis is a dark force and an invasive element against the narrator’s healthy identity. However, above all, subjects are also bound together by the difficulty of finding a handy language for talking about mental health crisis – a language that is not trapped between medical nomenclature and colloquial expressions perpetuating hurtful stereotypes.
