    This article presents an African view of the world portrayed in the Post-Synodal Apostolic Exhortation Africae munus. The document is the result of the second Synod for Africa (2009). The theme of the Synod was the role of the Church in the service of reconciliation, justice and peace. African vision of life consists of the painful problems of the continent and hopeful situation. A characteristic feature of this vision is a holistic look at the man and the world, “as something that embrances and includes ancestors, the living and those yet to be born, the whole of creation and all beings: those that speak and those that are mute, those that think and those lacking thought. The visible and invisible universe” (AM 69). The value of life and a deep sense of the sacred are often confronted with a lack of reconciliation, justice and peace on the African continent.

    The article presents the legal status of a permanent deacon as specified by the Directory for the Ministry and Life of Permanent Deacons. First, we look at the issue of incardination, that is a special appointment of permanent deacons as servants of God within a diocese, personal prelature, or an institute or association of consecrated life that has a capability of incardination. Next, presented are the obligations of the ecclesiastics mentioned above, which follow from their ordination and incardination. Finally, their powers are discussed as they constitute a vital dimension of the legal status of a permanent deacon.

    Opis:
    The article attempts to present the issue of legal possibilities concerning munus sanctificandi, granted to diocesan bishops by the Code of Canon Law of 1983. Sanctification is one of the main tasks diocesan bishops are faced with. The Code, then, declares that “the bishops in the first place exercise the sanctifying function; they are the high priests, the principal dispensers of the mysteries of God, and the directors, promoters, and guardians of the entire liturgical life in the Church entrusted to them” (Canon 835 § 1). The brief introduction to the first part is followed by a description of the areas of the sanctifying function of the Church – areas which the diocesan bishop is obliged to regulate. The considerations in this article focus on the following issues (to be canonically regulated by the diocesan): regulations in liturgy matters, appropriate celebration and admission to the Sacraments, liturgic functions of the laity, communicatio in sacris), Holy Sacraments, extrasacramental acts of God’s cult, as well as holy places and festivals. The above legislative competences can be realized both at a synod and elsewhere.

    Artykuł jest próbą określenia trynitarnych podstaw misji i wskazania wniosków praktycznych. Składa się z trzech części poświęconych kolejno tożsamości Posłanego, celowości Jego posłania i uczestnictwie misjonarzy w posłannictwie Chrystusa i Ducha Świętego. Tożsamość Posłanego (jednorodzonego Syna i Ducha Świętego) jest ukazana z perspektywy wewnątrztrynitarnych relacji. Syn został posłany przez Ojca, aby był „Nauczycielem, Królem i Kapłanem wszystkich” (LG, 13a). Duch Święty zaś „niesie” światu zmartwych¬wstałego Chrystusa i gromadzi Jego uczniów „w jednym Kościele Chrystusa” (KKK 1097). W ten sposób dokonuje się zbawianie świata, które jest głównym celem posłania Syna (por. J 3,17). Uczestnictwo misjonarza w posłaniu wcielonego Syna polega na realizacji Jego kapłaństwa wyrażającego się w mesjańskim triplex munus (nauczanie, uświę¬canie, kierowanie albo w funkcji: prorockiej, ofiarniczej i pasterskiej). Jezus z Nazaretu jest wzorem dla misjonarza jako najwyższy i wieczny Kapłan, który „przez Ducha wiecznego złożył Bogu samego siebie jako nieskalaną ofiarę” (Hbr 9,14). Główny wniosek wyraża się w stwierdzeniu, że budowanie wspólnoty zbawionych musi być przede wszystkim patrocentryczne i dziejozbawczo kom-plementarne, czyli chrystologicznie i równocześnie pneumatologicznie ugrunto¬wane.
    The article is an attempt to determine the Trinitarian foundations of the mission and to indicate its practical conclusions. It consists of three parts dedicated in turn to the identity of the Messenger, the purposefulness of his mission and the participation of missionaries in the mission of Christ and of the Holy Spirit. The identity of the messenger (the only-begotten Son and the Holy Spirit) is shown from the perspective of intra-trinitarian relations. The Son was sent by the Father to be „teacher, king and priest of all” (Lumen gentium, 13a). The Holy Spirit, in turn, „brings” the risen Christ to the world and gathers his disciples „in one Church of Christ” (Catechism of The Catholic Church, 1097). In this way the world is going to be saved, which is the main goal of the sending of the Son (cf. Jn 3:17). The missionary’s participation in the mission of the incarnated Son consists in the realization of his priesthood expressed in the messianic triplex munus (teaching, sanctifying, directing, or: in the prophetic, sacrificial and pastoral function). Jesus of Nazareth is a model for the missionary as the high and eternal Priest who „offered himself, blameless as he was, to God through the eternal Spirit” (Heb 9:14). The main conclusion is expressed in the statement that the redeemed community building must be primarily patricentric and salvifically comple¬mentary: Christologically and pneumatologically grounded on the same time.

    Opis:
    Peace clearly goes beyond the absence of war or violence. The Bible confirms a multifaceted understanding of the peace. There, it refers to the temporal order and the supernatural, the material and spiritual, to the relationship between human beings and their relationship to God. Social teaching of the Church is inspired by the biblical texts. It is symptomatic that in the social encyclicals, which is associated with Catholic social teaching, do not take up the subject of Africa. For this reason two Special Assemblies for Africa of the Synod of Bishops (1994, 2009) and their results – exhortations Ecclesia in Africa and Africae munus – should be considered as valuable and useful events. There is an interesting departure from the use of European concepts for African, especially the Church as Family of God, which is central to both exhortations. An evangelizing mission of the Church is the central topic of John Paul’s II exhortation and the issue of peace is one of the many questions raised in it. The peace is the main theme in Benedict’s XVI exhortation Africae munus. In both texts the concept of peace appears together with another term which is important for the social teaching of the Church, that of justice. Both documents draw attention to the need for activation of lay people who take action to remedy the misfortunes of the African continent. Meetings of the Symposium of Episcopal Conferences of Africa and Madagascar and the Confederation of Conferences of Major Superiors of Africa and Madagascar strengthen an ecclesiastical and social unity of Africa.

    One of the most import ant achievements of Pope Benedict XV’s pontificate was the promulgation of the Code of Canon Law on 19 May 1918. The code was an authentic collection, therefore, all orders included in it became the common law. It also became an exclusive collection in the sense that it excluded collections used up to that date. This happened for the first time in the history of the Church.The code was exclusive only in regard to the law of the Latin Church. All common and particular articles existing before that date which were against the rules of the Code were cancelled, unless it was decided otherwise regarding some of the particular articles. In the Code, Benedict advocated the doctrinal continuity and traditional Cath-olic teaching expressed through the law orders. He perceived the code as an aid to reg-ulating the church life and a way of looking for common grounds between it and the civil communities. Undoubtedly, the code contributed to the further development of the study of law in the Church.
