The purpose of this study is to describe the use of multimedia in strengthening students’ characters. This study employed a survey method with a cross-sectional type. The sample that included 265 students from Universitas Negeri Padang, Universitas Sebelas Maret, and Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia was determined proportionally. The data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, FGDs and self-evaluation, using quantitative descriptive analysis. The results of this study include 1) Students have gained experience in the learning process with a variety of interesting media in the form of text, images, graphics, sound, videos, animation, and others; 2) the multimedia used in this study includes motivational videos and texts that contain values in developing students’ character; 3) the dominant characters developed in multimedia blended learning are critical thinking, disciplined, creative, and collaborative. This multimedia blended learning has led to the strengthening of students’ characters. Therefore, character strengthening needs to be optimized in multimedia blended learning.

Media elektroniczne stały się we współczesnym świecie ważnym filarem procesu edukacji i wychowania młodego pokolenia. Świat wirtualny stanowi bardzo ważną przestrzeń życiową i jednocześnie socjalizacyjno-wychowawczą dzieci i młodzieży. Również wsparcie procesu dydaktyczno-wychowawczego przez nowoczesne technologie informacyjno-komunikacyjne jest już dość mocno zaawansowane i wciąż przybiera coraz to nowe formy oraz daje nowe, nieograniczone możliwości. Nie należy jednak zapominać, że korzystanie przestrzeni wirtualnej przez młodego człowieka obarczone jest także dość obszernym katalogiem zagrożeń i niebezpieczeństw. Dlatego też niezwykle ważne są refleksje nad specyfiką procesu wychowania i kształcenia wspieranego przez internet i komputer. Za bardzo istotne z pedagogicznego punktu widzenia uznaje się edukowanie młodych użytkowników mass mediów w zakresie racjonalnego korzystania z możliwości przez nie oferowanych. Ogromną rolę w działaniach tych pełni właściwie zorganizowana i systematycznie prowadzona edukacja medialna.
Electronic media has become an important pillar of the education and upbringing process of the young generation in the modern world. The virtual world is a very important living space and, at the same time, a space for the socialization and educational of children and adolescents. The augmentation of the didactic and educational process by modern information and communication technologies is already quite advanced and continues to take new forms, offering new, unlimited possibilities. However, it should not be forgotten that the use of virtual space by a young person is also burdened with a fairly extensive catalogue of threats and dangers. Therefore, it is extremely important to reflect on the specificity of the education process that may be supported through the use of the Internet and computers. It is considered extremely important from the pedagogical point of view to educate young users in the rational use of the opportunities offered by the mass media. Properly organized and systematically conducted media education plays a huge role in these activities.

The study was intended to examine the evaluation of the development of students’ and future teachers’ preparation in the area of digital preschool and primary school education, supported by information and communication technology (ICT). In this article, the author studies the concept and the curriculum of the “Information technology in the education of children of preschool and primary education” course implemented in the pedagogy program bachelor specialization referred to as “Preschool and primary school education,” with active e-learning support, particularly in the form of distance courses, applications, Internet sources, websites, and digital resources. The author analyzes details of the curriculum of the course, the concept of each task, criteria of their assessment, the learning outcomes, and examples of projects. A review is provided of a course based on some evaluative materials. Moreover, the author discusses selected results of surveys of students’ opinions about specific tasks, particularly the evaluation criteria of didactic applications and educational websites, self-reflections on course achievements, and fulfilment of their expectations.

Celem pracy było zobrazowanie/opis pracy zdalnej z wykorzystaniem urządzeń multimedialnych do nauki e-learningowej w czasie pandemii koronawirusa z punktu widzenia nauczycieli pracujących czynnie zawodowo w przedszkolu i szkole. Analizą objętych zostało 105 respondentów – czynnych zawodowo nauczycieli z Gminnego Centrum Edukacji oraz Przedszkola Samorządowego im. Misia Uszatka w Igołomi. Badania przeprowadzono w marcu w 2021 roku metodą sondażu diagnostycznego z wykorzystaniem techniki ankiety i techniki obserwacji. Z badań wynika, że 53% nauczycieli jest w przedziale wiekowym 41–50 lat, staż pracy dla 69% wynosi powyżej 15 lat, 99 % badanych posiada wyższe wykształcenie, 80% badanych nie chciałoby kontynuować pracy zdalnej, 70% badanych ocenia negatywnie pracę uczniów na platformach e-learningowych, zarazem jednak 70% badanych dostrzega plusy pracy zdalnej, czego przykładem jest m.in. brak konieczności upominania uczniów na zajęciach, jak w przypadku lekcji stacjonarnych.
The aim of the study was to illustrate/describe remote work with the use of multimedia devices for e-learning during the coronavirus pandemic from the point of view of teachers working professionally in kindergartens and schools. The research covered 105 respondents, including 10 pre-school education teachers and 37 education teachers early childhood and 58 teachers of grades IV–VIII – professionally active teachers in the Commune Education Center and the Miś Uszatek’ Kindergarten of the Self-Government in Igołomia in March 2021 by the method of a diagnostic survey using the survey technique and observation technique (observation conducted in 2019/2020). The research shows that 53% of teachers are between 41 and 50 years old, and 69% of the teachers have more than 15 years of work experience, 99% of the respondents have higher education. 80% of respondents would not like to continue working remotely, 70% of respondents negatively evaluate the work of students on e-learning platforms, however 70% of respondents find advantages of remote work, an example of which is e.g. no admonishing students in class, as in the case of traditional work.

W prezentowanym artykule autorka zwraca uwagę na konieczność ustawicznej edukacji rodziców mającej charakter medialny. Rodzice bowiem odgrywają znaczącą rolę w procesie przygotowania dziecka do funkcjonowania w społeczeństwie informacyjnym. To oni są i powinni być pierwszymi nauczycielami i wychowawcami, którzy stopniowo będą wprowadzać swoje dziecko w świat mediów. Autorka wyjaśnia problem współczesnych zagrożeń medialnych, wymienia najistotniejsze z nich. Obok pojawiających się zagrożeń medialnych niezbędna staje się edukacja medialna rodziców, dzięki której sami rodzice mogą chronić swoje dzieci i uczyć swoim przykładem bezpiecznego korzystania z nowych technologii.
In this article, the author pays attention to the necessity of persistent education of parents in the field of media literacy. Parents play a significant role in preparing children to function in the information society, they are the ones to be the first teachers and pedagogues, who gradually introduce their children to the world of media. The author explains the problem of contemporary threats in connection with media and lists the most important ones. Do to continuously appearing new threats coming from the media it is necessary to provide media education to parents, that will enable them to protect their children, teach them about the safe use of new technologies through example and their knowledge.

The idea of education with the use of educational media is not new, however contemporary teaching and upbringing require innovative forms in order to engage the recipients and raise the effectiveness of the process. A novel tool of influencing a child of a pre- and early school age is a therapeutic story, often being presented in a multimedia form. It is a carrier of social, cultural and language patterns. The child, through the identification with the main character, assumes the models of behaviour as well as adopts an active, creative and rational attitude towards difficult situations which may happen or happened. The mechanism of the identification of the recipient with the protagonist is stimulated by interaction, which is supported by the multimedia form. Tasks and games which are incorporated in the plot give the child the feeling of being in charge and the sense of success. Announcements made by the protagonist (inquiries, praise) strengthen the bond between the child and the fairy-tale character. Psychoeducational tales are used for prevention purposes, while psychotherapeutic and relaxation ones are implemented in therapy for the regeneration of human reserves.

The article touches upon the issue of influence of modern digital media on the attitudes of recipients/ broadcasters (digital communicators) related to their creative activities. The first indication applies to the fact that the development of digital technologies introduces a new digital order of communication (from the primary order, through the secondary and hybrid order, to the digital order), which in turn provides communicators with a broad spectrum of new methods and tools of communication 0 including tools permitting creative activities. Second of all, it is noted that despite the mentioned rich offer of digital tools and the promotion of creative attitudes, digital media, in particular global social media, are dominated by attitudesof re-production related both to common re-distribution of existing content (sharing, copying and pasting, etc.), and even limiting creativity entirely (likes, tags). The remarks made are compared to opinions of digital media researchers and neurobiologists indicating on the one hand the weakening/ dissolution of the reception of content by digital media (the negative effect of multi-tasking), and on the other hand, the supersaturation of emotions related to the reception of content (negative influence of computer games). In conclusion, attention is turned to the necessity of establishing in contemporary communicators (on all levels of education) of digital communication competences, in particular the promotion of creative attitudesrelated to these competences.

Media i multimedia cieszą się ogromną popularnością wśród najmłodszych. Z tego powodu rośnie konieczność przygotowania dzieci do odpowiedniego korzystania z mediów. Wychowanie medialne realizowane już na poziomie przedszkola jest szansą na przygotowanie dzieci do krytycznego odbioru przekazów medialnych oraz sprawnego posługiwania się mediami jako narzędziami rozwoju poznawczego. Skuteczność prowadzonej już od najmłodszych lat edukacji medialnej zależy przede wszystkim od współpracy rodziców i nauczycieli, którzy stopniowo wprowadzać będą dziecko w zdominowany świat mediów.
Media and multimedia are very popular among children, for that reason there is growing necessity to prepare children for proper media use. Media education implemented at the kindergarten level is an opportunity to prepare children for the critical reception of media messages and efficient use of media as a tool for cognitive development. The effectiveness of media education from an early age depends mainly on the cooperation of parents and teachers who will gradually introduce the child into world dominated by media.

W artykule przedstawiono problematykę edukacji multimedialnej w procesie wychowania przedszkolnego, tak istotną wobec szybkiego tempa rozwoju technologii cyfrowych zmieniających świat, a więc także sposoby i kierunki kształcenia na wszelkich szczeblach nauczania. W celu poprawy wiedzy i umiejętności wykorzystania technologii cyfrowych podczas zajęć z dziećmi przez kadrę pedagogiczną w ww. placówkach, potrzebne było przeprowadzenie szkoleń w formie wykładów i warsztatów. Analiza wyników badań, jakimi objęte były uczestniczki przed i po zakończeniu powyższych szkoleń, wskazała na konieczność wprowadzenia systemowego programu kształcenia nauczycieli wychowania przedszkolnego obejmującego naukę z opisanych w niniejszym artykule obszarów technologii cyfrowych.
The article presents a significant topic of multimedia education in the pre-school period, which is very important because of fast development of digital technologies that are changing the world as well as the ways and directions of education on every level of teaching. In order to improve teachers’ knowledge and skills in digital technology use during classes with children in pre-schools, it was necessary to conduct a series of trainings in the form of lectures and workshops. The analysis of the participants’ surveys before and after the trainings revealed the necessity of introducing a systematic educational program for pre-school teachers, covering areas of digital technologies described in this article.

In the article the author discusses the main phenomena related to technologies that are representative for the second decade of the 21st century, which have the strongest impact on recipients (especially on children and teenagers), and thus on education. The article describes the relationship between technologies and teaching with a special focus put on the positive and negative impact on education. The author of the article also presents the main principles of the operation of digital technologies and related with them new media (or so-called ‘new new media’). Furthermore, the article also presents data of the level of computerization of Poland and compares them with the level of computerization of Polish schools. The author presents the current core curriculum of computer science and the Polish language in the context of their references to digital technologies and digital communication skills.

Opis:
Postęp cywilizacyjny dogonił wszystkie sfery życia, w tym edukację. Polskie szkoły są dość dobrze wyposażone w sprzęt multimedialny, a uczniowie i dzieci już od najmłodszych lat są wdrażani do posługiwania się nimi w celach edukacyjnych. Tego nie można powiedzieć o szkołach afrykańskich, a szczególnie o prywatnej szkole w Kenii, w nadmorskiej wiosce Muyeye, która administracyjnie należy do miasta Malindi. W szkole nie ma prądu, komputerów i innych środków multimedialnych. Uczniowie wiedzę o zdobyczach cywilizacji nabywają od nauczycieli lub z czytanych przez nich gazet. Szkoła prowadzi kampanie ekologiczne, prozdrowotne, ale z trudem udaje się przezwyciężyć nawyki lokalnych mieszkańców. Wsparciem dla podejmowanych przez szkołę działań jest miejscowy kościół. Mary’s Junior School jest częściowo dotowana przez państwo.
Civilization progress has caught up with all spheres of life, including education. Polish schools are quite well equipped with multimedia equipment, and pupils and children are already deployed to use them for educational purposes from an early age. This can not be said for African schools, and especially for a private school in Kenya, in the coastal village of Muyeye, which is administratively part of the city of Malindi. There is no electricity at school, no computers and no other multimedia resources. Students acquire knowledge about the achievements of civilization from teachers or from newspapers they read. The school runs eco-friendly, pro-health campaigns, but it is difficult to overcome the habits of local residents. Support for the activities undertaken by the school is the local church. Mary's Junior School is partially subsidized by the state.
