Opis:
Frequent crew rotation, a shorthand, and various levels of technical crew skills, are the facts with the ship-owners has to cope very often. Having the proper level of engine exploitation as a main objective is necessary to implement a constant engine monitoring system, in order to obtain quick and reliable diagnostic information. One cannot omit the financial aspect of monitoring system implementation, created by its price and costs of service. In this paper, the analysis of diagnostic utility of the signal deriving from a propulsion shaft fluctuation during its one revolution is presented. The angular speed of the shaft was measured using a laser sensor of torque meter ETNP-10. Diagnostic utility validation has been verified on a basis of combustion quality, in cylinders of two-stroke, turbocharged Marine Diesel Engine. Test was carried out on board of a container vessel during its sea passage. In order to evaluate the effectiveness of the method, the crew simulated engine’s malfunction by fuel injection cut-off in various cylinders (only one in the same time). The interference signals decomposition was carried out using the method of synchronous averaging and moving approximation with polynomial of 3rd exponent.

multiple moving least-square approximation
decomposition and separation of disturbances
Opis:
The paper has characterized the method of multiple moving least-square approximation with polynomials, known as the Savitzky-Golay filter. This method enables smoothing the measurement series, decomposition and separation of disturbances, generation of derivatives as well as approximate integration of measurement series. The smoothing properties of the method as well as the possibilities of separation and decomposition of disturbances are shown on the examples of treatment of the selected indicator graph. The attention was paid to the need for additional application of special filters in case of abnormal impulse deviations. The examples show that in case of the analyzed curve, the results of smoothing by means of several wave filters from Wavelet Explorer package, are worse than those received with the methods of moving approximation. On the derivatives of smoothened curve by means of wavelet filters, there are significant oscillations, what is typical of the whole-interval approximation with spline functions. One should highlight the high simplicity of algorithms of multiple moving approximation and associated with this, high speed of operation, what particularly predisposes this method of data processing in an on-line mode. The authors presented their own proposals of programs for measurement data processing with the method of multiple moving approximation with polynomials, with the possibility of selection of an approximation polynomial to the fifth degree. The programs were developed in the Excel and Delphi environment.

Opis:
The dynamic response of a double-beam resting on a nonlinear viscoelastic foundation and subjected to a finite series of moving loads is analysed. The beams are connected by a viscoelastic layer and the load moving along the upper beam represents motion of a train on the rail track. The mathematical model is described by a coupled system of fourth order partial differential equations with homogeneous boundary conditions. The nonlinearity is included in the foundation stiffness of medium supporting a lower beam. The coiflet based approximation combined with Adomian’s decomposition is adopted for the displacements derivation. The developed approach allows one to overcome difficulties related to direct calculation of Fourier integrals as well as the small parameter method. The conditions for correctness of the approximate solution are defined. The influence of some factors on the system sensitivity is discussed, with special focus on the distance between the separated loads. Numerical examples are presented for a certain system of physical parameters.
