Opis:
In the literature available hitherto there are many reports on enzymatic changes in tissues and a correlated rise in enzymatic activity in blood serum during experimental and human trichinellosis. In this study we were characterised proteinase activity in crude extracts from muscles of mice infected with Trichinella spiralis and T. pseudospiralis and the dynamics of their changes in different stages of disease. The activity of proteinase in muscle of mice infected with T. spiralis showed an increase in the 1 st- 5th week post infection, and then a slight decrease. The biggest proteinase activity was observed in 5th- 6th week post infection. In the muscle of mice infected with T. pseudospiralis the increase of proteinase activity was observed in 1st-4th week post infection. In the 4th week the activity reached its maximum and in the 5th- 10th week post infection there was a decrease of the activity in comparison with the control. As we could see, the dynamics of the changes of proteinase activity in mice is similar in the case of the disease with other biochemical and immunological indices observed in trichinellosis and with the increase of regeneration and transformation processes observed in histopathological studies.

Opis:
Two types of computer input devices, a conventional mouse and a roller bar one, were studied in terms of muscular activitiy in m. trapezius dexter, m. deltoideus anterior dexter and m. extensor digitorum dexter, and comfort rating. Fifteen university students and employees participated in this study. The order of the devices was random. While a task was performed, electromyography (EMG) data were recorded for each test. Muscular activity was found to be significantly lower for the roller bar mouse than for the conventional one. Comfort rating indicated there was a significant difference in moving a cursor with the conventional mouse compared to the roller bar one. It is concluded that a roller bar mouse allowed the subjects to work closer to the body compared to the conventional one, thus the former can be recommended as a general means of reducing upper extremity musculoskeletal disorders.

Opis:
The present investigation was aimed to study an antiepileptic activity of methanolic extract of Tragia involucrata Linn in mice. In vivo screening models like maximal electroshock-induced convulsion (MES), pentylenetetrazole (PTZ) and picrotoxin (PTX) induced models are used to evaluate the antiepileptic effects of the extracts. The biochemical estimation was done by measuring the lipid peroxidation and reduced glutathione (GSH). In the MES induced convulsion, methanolic extract of Tragia involucrata (METI) at high dose (800 mg/kg body weight), showed high significant inhibition on tonic hind limb extension (THLE, 6.83 ±0.30***) and decrease in duration of stupor period (108.7 ±6.53***). In PTZ and PTX induced model METI (400 mg/kg and 800 mg/kg) showed significant delay on the onset of convulsions, decreased duration of convulsion and reduced mortality significantly. It also showed significant decrease in brain MDA level in lipid peroxidation profile, and increase in the brain glutathione levels in mice against PTZ induced convulsion. The results confirmed that Tragia involucrata Linn possesses dose dependent antiepileptic activity.

Opis:
The article is related to the computer systems security and to the problem of detecting the masqueraders, intruders who pretend to be legitimate users of computer systems, in particular. The research concerns computer user verification based on analysis of the mouse activity in computer system. The article presents an improvement of user verification method by introducing a new method of user profiling. The new user profiling method is based on the reduced number of features without the loss of information is introduced. The presented method of user profiling allows to simplify and speed up a user’s activity data analysis and is not causing the deterioration of intrusion detection. Additionally, a method of aggregating mouse activity basic events into a higher level events is described. This article presents the preliminary research and conclusions.
