Opis:
The article discusses one of the ways to monitor human health through a continuous comparative analysis of skin temperatures on various parts of the body. Comparing the temperatures of such parts as the armpit, limbs of the arms and legs, it is proposed to draw a conclusion about the state of blood circulation and blood density. A detailed algorithm for processing the measured temperatures is presented. An automated data processing and notification system is proposed. The description of the initial version of the device developed by the authors is given, where the assumptions about possible health problems are notified using light lamps and an audio signal. An inexpensive Arduino NANO microcontroller is proposed as a technical tool for an information processing device.. The research results can be applied in automated systems as hardware and software. The device can be useful in constant monitoring the health status of newborns, people with serious disabilities and people with limited ability to move independently.

The article deals with the software tool design and its features implementation into automation measuring system of intra-abdominal pressure. Measurement system consists of peripherals controlled by electronics connected to computer with developed software. Software was used for pressure sensor optimization implemented into measurement system as well as whole system testing and its evaluation. Pressure sensors consist of glass tube with electrodes created by thin film technology. The article also deals with software possibilities and its application in testing process.
Artykuł dotyczy projektowania oprogramowania narzędziowego i jego zastosowania w systemie zautomatyzowanego pomiaru ciśnienia w jamie brzusznej. Układ pomiarowy składa się z urządzeń sterowanych elektronicznie i podłączonych do komputera oraz zaprojektowanego oprogramowania. Oprogramowanie zostało wykorzystane do optymalizacji czujnika ciśnienia zastosowanego w systemie pomiarowym, jak również do testowanie całego systemu i jego oceny. Czujnik ciśnienia składa się z rurki szklanej z elektrodami utworzonymi w technologii cienkowarstwowej. W artykule opisano również możliwości oprogramowania i jego zastosowanie w procesie testowania.

Radio frequency spectrum mapping allows determining the radio frequency signatures prevalent within an environment. We address the primary frequency bands used for cellular, wireless Local Area Network (LAN), Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) and Ultra-wideband (UWB) communications. The purpose of the experiment presented in this paper is to map the detected radio frequencies within an environment and display the collated data on a graphical user interface. A program identifies the presence of the aforementioned radio frequency signatures and recognizes signal levels which exceed the exposure standards enforced by the Australian Communication and Media Authority. The results assist in the understanding of the ramifications of long-term exposure to radio frequency radiation associated with the continued proliferation of wireless devices.

Electromagnetic fields radiation has raised concerns within several segments of the population in the past three decades. Many studies proved inconclusive, in part due to the scarcity of data. We propose the idea of a geographical model based radiation pollution database. We discuss networked sensing technology for detection and monitoring of electromagnetic fields. We elaborate on software engineering issues for the visualization in real time of electromagnetic field mappings and the dissemination of information through various means and levels of access. We propose the database be complimented by a data algorithmic software solution for the extraction of patterns.

Real-time traffic characteristic is different and it is very sensitive to delay. To meet traffic specications in real time, monitoring systems are used as an important part of networking. Many monitoring systems are deployed to have an update view of the network QoS parameters and performance. Most of these systems are implemented to measure QoS parameters in links. Here, in this paper, a system for monitoring queues in each link by means of Software Defined Networks is proposed. The monitoring system is implemented by extending Floodlight controller, which uses OpenFlow as southbound protocol. The controller has a centralized view of the network. By the help of OpenFlow it also can provide flow level statistics. Using these advantages, the proposed system can monitor delay and available bandwidth of a queue on a link or path. Despite of monitoring systems in traditional networks, the proposed monitoring system makes a low overhead in network thanks to OpenFlow protocol messages. It is also integrated into the network controller, which enables QoS and trac engineering applications to use the system's reports for automatic traffic management and QoS setup. The experimental results show a 99% accuracy of the proposed system for monitoring of both bandwidth and delay.

In this paper, we investigate the upwelling phenomenon using data of 97 monitoring stations in Ouargla and El Oued valleys located in the Low Septentrional Sahara south of Algeria. This research paper constitutes a contribution to the morphological, hydrological, hydrogeological study of the water table in order to understand the processes of upwelling groundwater. By using ArcGIS as a mapping tool, we worked on real UTM coordinates in X and Y for real data overlay drawn maps in clear and usable way of this phenomenon. On the other hand, we propose a new method based on neural network to model the level flctuation of the groundwater as well as to predict the evolution of the water table level. The obtained model allows us to warm this harmful phenomenon and plan sustainable solutions to protect the environment. The finding shows that the obtained model provides more significant accuracy rate and it drives more robustness in very challenging situation such as the heterogeneity of the data and sudden climate change comparing to the related research.

Modern, highly concurrent, and large-scale systems require new methods for design, testing, and monitoring. Their dynamics and scale require real-time tools that provide a holistic view of the whole system and the ability to show a more detailed view when needed. Such tools can help identify the causes of unwanted states, which is hardly possible with a static analysis or metrics-based approach. In this paper, a new tool for the analysis of distributed systems in Erlang is presented. It provides the real-time monitoring of system dynamics on diferent levels of abstraction. The tool has been used for analyzing a large-scale urban trafic simulation system running on a cluster of 20 computing nodes.

Research background: The twin pressures of economic downturn and climate change faced by countries around the world have become more pronounced over the past decade. A renewable energy transition is believed to play a central role in mitigating the economic-climate paradox. While the architectural and computational power of artificial intelligence is particularly well suited to address the challenges of massive data processing and demand forecasting during a renewable energy transition, there is very scant empirical assessment that takes a social science perspective and explores the effects of AI development on the energy transition. Purpose of the article: This paper aims to answer two key questions: One is, how does AI software development promote or inhibit the shift of energy consumption towards renewables? The other is, under what policy interventions does AI software development have a more positive effect on promoting renewable energy consumption? Methods: We employ a dataset of 62 economies covering the period 2011–2020 to analyze the impact of AI software development on the energy transition, where possible confounders, including political and economic characteristics and time-invariant elements, are controlled using fixed-effects estimation along with specified covariates. Findings & value added: AI software development can promote the energy transition towards renewables. There is suggestive evidence that the core mechanism linking such a positive relationship tends to lie in improving innovation performance in environmental monitoring rather than in green computing. Government support for R&D in renewable energy technologies is found to be significantly beneficial for harnessing the positive impact of AI software development on the energy transition. Compared to non-market-based environmental policies, market-based environmental policies have a more significant positive moderating effect on the relationship between AI software development and energy transition.

A hardware-software system has been implemented to monitor the environmental state (EnvState) at the site of railway (RY) accidents and disasters. The proposed hardware-software system consists of several main components. The first software component, based on the queueing theory (QT), simulates the workload of emergency response units at the RY accident site. It also interacts with a central data processing server and information collection devices. A transmitter for these devices was built on the ATmega328 microcontroller. The hardware part of the environmental monitoring system at the RY accident site is also based on the ATmega328 microcontroller. In the hardwaresoftware system for monitoring the EnvState at the RY accident site, the data processing server receives information via the MQTT protocol from all devices about the state of each sensor and the device's location at the RY accident or disaster site, accompanied by EnvState contamination. All data is periodically recorded in a database on the server in the appropriate format with timestamps. The obtained information can then be used by specialists from the emergency response headquarters.

W pracy przedstawiono koncepcję i wybrane procedury specjalistycznego oprogramowania przy wykorzystaniu zaawansowanych technologii informatycznych dla systemu diagnostycznego dedykowanego układom wirującym maszyn z aktywnym łożyskiem magnetycznym. Jest on wykorzystywany w czasie normalnej eksploatacji maszyny, co pozwala na zwiększenie jej niezawodności.
The paper presents possibilities and current trends in the advanced diagnosis of rotating machine systems with active magnetic suspension. The diagnostic systems designed for this type of unconventional rotating systems have their own specificities, which distinguish them from classical ones. The proposed procedures of the specialized diagnostic software dedicated to rotating systems with an active magnetic bearing allow for automatic execution of measurements, their analysis, and generation of information for an operator about the state of the machine in different phases of the machine work in real-time. It is very important from the viewpoint of the safe operation and the increased reliability of this type of unconventional solutions of rotating machine systems. An important feature of the designed diagnostic system is an open architecture that allows for modifications and extension of the number of the analyzed parameters. The constructed laboratory test stands, where the diagnostic tests were performed, have practical application in industrial machines: to control the vibration of a long flexible shaft of the industrial machinery by an additional magnetic support - safe crossing of the critical frequency, in the exploitation of an active magnetic support as a damper - the drive transmission system for the rear rotor of the helicopter.

The GOOSE (GNSS Receiver with open software interface) Software-Defined Receiver has been developed at the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits (IIS) in Nürnberg, Germany. The main motivation for the development of this platform was to control the receiver at all stages, from digital signal processing to the PVT domain, and to enable controlled feedback to the hardware. Besides having access to all raw data including correlation values, the GOOSE receiver also enables for example tight- or ultra-tight integration with an inertial navigation system or other dead reckoning systems, as these kinds of architectures require access to the acquisition and tracking loops. In this paper, the tracking performance of the GOOSE platform was evaluated and compared to a reference receiver (Septentrio PolaRx5S). Several long data sessions were recorded on a “zero baseline” in which both receivers used the same precise geodetic antenna that was also developed at Fraunhofer IIS. The measurements were performed in a harsh environment (obstructions, multipath, possible interferences), as well as on a site with an unobstructed sky view. Quality and performance analyses were performed using raw measurements (in the domain of primary observables) of three civil GPS signals: L1CA, L2CM, and L5. The data were processed using the “zeroEdit” module of the TUB-NavSolutions academic software for education and research. The quality of the raw observables and tracking performance were described by the following parameters: number of cycle slips detected, number of un-correctable cycle slips, number of loss of locks of the signals, number of single epoch data gaps, and the length of carrier phase arcs. The presentation is illustrated with some numerical examples.

Modern agriculture involves the implementation of a particular technological operation, according to the appropriate map-task, which is developed pre-based on diverse information. Knowledge of a certain structure of soil cover variability, obtained using information and technical systems of local operational monitoring of the agrobiological state of agricultural lands, allows us to adopt effective operational decisions for efficient management of agrobiological potential of agricultural lands. Obviously, under such conditions, there is a need for fundamentally new approaches to agricultural production, which is to ensure the proper quality of technological operations. The quality of the implementation of technological operations is an integral indicator of the efficiency of production of agricultural products within the agrobiological field. The necessary quality of implementation of the basic technological processes in plant growing is provided by the integrated information and technical systems of operational monitoring of the agrobiological state of agricultural lands. In connection with this, the task is to use a fundamentally new class of information and technical systems of local operational monitoring of the agrobiological state of agricultural lands. The task is achieved by using the information and technical system of operational monitoring of the soil environment of the structure to determine the conductive characteristics of the soil environment. The purpose of this research is to develop and substantiate the functional structure, software, writing code and algorithms for managing the executive bodies of the information and technical system of operational monitoring of the agrobiological state of the soil environment of agricultural lands.

In the paper we present our experience with development and maintenance of complex software systems. In particular, we concentrate on monitoring related development, testing and debugging processes. We have analyzed the contents of collected reports (provided by different tools) covering many projects and defined several metrics and statistics helpful in managing complex projects and achieving high quality software. W artykule przedstawiono metody monitoringu technicznego telekomunikacyjnych sieci kablowych i ich elementów oraz system monitoringu sieci kablowych SPOT opracowany w ramach projektu rozwojowego OR00012612. System ten służy do scentralizowanego wykrywania uszkodzeń i nieuprawnionych ingerencji w sieciach kablowych miedzianych i światłowodowych. Rola monitoringu sieci kablowych wzrasta wobec obserwowanego w ostatnich latach znacznego wzrostu liczby uszkodzeń związanych z robotami budowlanymi i drogowymi oraz kradzieżami kabli.
The paper presents monitoring methods for telecom cable networks and unmanned facilities, as well as SPOT monitoring system developed as result of Polish development grant No. OR00012612. This system performs centralized detection, location and reporting of faults and unauthorized access to copper and optical fibre cable infrastructure. Monitoring of cable networks is recently gaining importance in Poland and several other countries due to significant rise in number of network outages caused by digging, construction work and cable theft.

Dynamiczny rozwój sztucznej inteligencji w ostatnich latach spowodował, że budowa oraz wykorzystanie w praktyce robotów mobilnych stało się faktem. Do niedawna roboty były wytworem wyobraźni reżyserów czy też kojarzone były wyłącznie z filmami science-fiction. Dziś można stwierdzić, że od kiedy są stosowane na skalę przemysłową to usprawniły i zrewolucjonizowały wiele czynności realizowanych przez człowieka, wspomagając lub całkowicie zastępując jego pracę [3]. Należy podkreślić, że roboty stosowane są wielu obszarach gospodarki, takich jak przemysł ciężki i lekki, wojsko, medycyna oraz rolnictwo. Celem pracy badawczej było zaprojektowanie i zbudowanie robota mobilnego wraz z opracowaniem autorskiego oprogramowania do procesu akwizycji obrazu oraz możliwości monitorowania miejsc trudno dostępnych dla człowieka.
In recent years, there has been a rapid advancement in artificial intelligence and this has led to the widespread construction and usage of mobile robots. Until recently, robots were a figment of imagination of the science-fiction directors. Now, as a result of the commercial use robots have revolutionized man's work helping people in their activities or even replacing people at work [3]. It should be stressed that robots are used in many areas of the economy, such as light and heavy industry, army, medicine and agriculture. The objectives of this research work were to design and construct a mobile robot as well as to write the original software for the image acquisition, which would allow us to monitor hard-to-reach places.
