Opis:
In order to provide a better characterization of the origin and volume of thermogenic gas generation hydrous pyrolysis (HP) experiments were performed on coals and shales at 330 and 360oC for 72 hours. The maturity range of coals and shales used for HP varies from 0.57 to 0.92% Ro. The maturity increase caused by HP at 330 and 360oC ranges from 1.32 to 1.39% and from 1.71 to 1.83%, respectively. δ13C of CH4, 2H6, C3H6 and n-C4H10 in HP gases versus their reciprocal C-number have a concave relationship, and therefore do not follow a linear trend. δ2H of CH4, 2H6 and C3H6 in HP gases versus their reciprocal H-number show both linear and convex-concave relationships. The growth of CO2 yields during HP was higher for shales than for coals. H2S yields from shales are higher than from coals, which can be connected with catalytic and adsorbed influence of shale matrix. H2 was also generated in notable quantities from water and organic matter of coals and bigger amounts from shales. N2 yields grow with the increase of Ro after 3oC HP and it is more enriched in 15N isotope than after 330C.

Opis:
Graphite nitrogen, pyridine nitrogen and pyrrole nitrogen are the main nitrogen types in nitrogen-doped graphene materials. In order to investigate the mechanism of the oxygen reduction activity of nitrogen-doped graphene, several models of nitrogen-doped graphene with different nitrogen contents and different nitrogen types are developed. The nitrogen content is varied from 1.3 at% to 7.8 at%, and the adsorption energy is calculated according to the established models, then the band gaps are analyzed through the optimization results, so as to compare the mag-nitude of the conductivity. Finally, the oxygen reduction activity of graphite nitrogen-doped graphene (GNG) is found to be better than pyridine nitrogen-doped graphene (PDNG) and pyrrole nitrogen-doped graphene (PLNG) when the nitrogen content is lower than 2.6 at%, and the oxygen reduction activity of PDNG is the best when the nitrogen content was higher than 2.6 at%.

Opis:
In order to characterize the explosive properties of high-nitrogen, energetic compounds, the heats of formation, either in the gas or the solid state, are often used as preliminary data. Their relationship to the number of nitrogen atoms involved is usually known, so exploring it cannot furnish any new information. However, the very promising, quantitative structure property relationship (QSPR) approach utilizes the molecular surface electrostatic potential V(r). We have therefore performed calculations for 12 azines and 10 azoles by the DFT B3PW91/cc-pVTZ method, and constructed their gas phase heats of formation Δf H°(298,g) by means of the isodesmic reaction approach. The acquired gas phase heats of formation Δf H°(298,g) were correlated with the molecular surface electrostatic potentials VS,max, VS,min, and VS(ring), which were calculated by the B3LYP/6-31G(d,p)//B3PW91/cc-pVTZ method. It is shown that the VS(ring) electrostatic potential describes very precisely the structures of high-nitrogen N-heteroaromatics, with both consecutive and isolated nitrogen atoms, and their thermodynamic properties.
