Opis:
In Poland and in the world is conducted air monitoring in order to care for the atmospheric air. Thus, it is possible to develop of appropriate plans of improvement air quality in certain areas. Unfortunately, the number of stationary equipment in large cities is usually insufficient. For example, in Warsaw under the State Environmental Monitoring, information on the concentrations of pollutants in the air provide only 8 automatic stations and 3 manual stations, of which only 5 stations belong to the Mazovia Voivodship Inspectorate for Environmental Protection. 11 monitoring stations in the metropolitan area of 517 km2, is the number that is not able to provide an accurate measurement of air quality. In the article, on the example of Warsaw, is presented the concept of mobile network devices for air monitoring, from which data could complement to those from the fixed stations. The article sets out the measured substances, estimated cost of mobile network devices, and the choice of means of transport to move measuring devices.

Opis:
Time synchronization between sensor nodes to reduce the end-to-end delay for critical and real time data monitoring can be achieved by cautiously monitoring the mobility of the mobile sink node in underwater wireless sensor networks. The Alive-in-Range Medium Access Control (ARMAC) protocol monitors the delay of sensitive, critical and real-time data. The idea evolves as it involves reduction in duty cycle, precise time scheduling of active/sleep cycles of the sensors, monitoring the mobility of the sink node with the selection of appropriate queues and schedulers. The model for the path loss due to attenuation of electromagnetic wave propagation in the sea water is explained. The three-path reflection model evaluating reflection loss from the air-water and watersand interfaces as a function of distance between sensors and water depth is introduced. The algorithms for effective path determination and optimum throughput path determination are elaborated. The results verify that implementation of the Alive-in-Range MAC protocol has reduced the total number of packets dropped, the average queue length, the longest time in queue, the peak queue length and the average time in queue significantly, making it relevant for critical and real-time data monitoring.

Opis:
This paper addresses issues concerned with design and managing of monitoring systems comprised of mobile wireless sensing devices (MANETs). The authors focus on self-organizing, cooperative and coherent networks that maintain a continuous communication with a central operator and adopt to changes in an unknown environment to achieve a given goal. The attention is focused on the development of MANET for heavy gas clouds detection and its boundary estimating and tracking. Two strategies for constructing the MANET are described, in which sensors explore the region of interest to detect the gas cloud, create temporary network topology and finally, cover the cloud boundary, and track the moving cloud. The utility and efficiency of the proposed strategies has been justified through simulation experiments.

Opis:
Formation control is an important part of any system that utilizes multiple mobile agents to achieve its parti‐ cular goals. One of those applications is the mobile wi‐ reless network sensor. This field has become increasingly more popular in recent times due to the advancement of technology, especially in the fields of miniaturization and telecommunications. The main problem of this research is the relatively untested sensing capability of a mobile wireless sensor network in an operating area that has dis‐ tributed and/or multiple locations of high interest. The purpose of this research is to discover the compatibility of a multiple‐agent coverage control system with several examples of interest functions that have multiple and/or distributed points of global maximum value in order to explore more thoroughly the performance of a given sy‐ stem in a varying environments.

Opis:
In wireless mobile sensor networks, periodic calculation of coverage is very important, since mobile sensors can be moved adequately to current needs, thus increasing the coverage. Those moves require the execution of navigation tasks. Global network central algorithms for those tasks are very costly regarding energy consumption and computational resources. Considerations presented herein pertain to the best algorithms for a network of numerous small mobile sensor nodes used for monitoring of large terrains. Localized algorithms suggested in this paper help calculate the coverage on-line and locally with the involvement of neighboring nodes only. Furthermore, localized collaborative navigation is presented. It enables yielding position estimation with no GPS use and ensures improvement rather than deterioration over time. It uses multi-sensor fusion algorithms based on optimization and a distributed iterative extended Kalman Filter.
