Opis:: Apostolic constitution of Pope Francis regarding women’s contemplative life Vultum Dei quaerere published on 29.06.2016, and executory instruction Cor orans published on 1.04.2018 by Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life implements series of changes for life of nuns of enclosure. It was necessary, because previous apostolic constitution Sponsa Christi regarding life of nuns, prepared by Pope Pius XII was published 66 zears ago on 21.1.1915. Long time period separating both constitutions causes, among other things, that changes implemented by new documents are far-reaching, and cause partial derogation of four canons Canon Law Codex of 1983 still in force, and complete abrogation of some previous, no-code judical norms regarding nuns. Newness (Novum) of the published documents, in the first place, is that all nun’s cloisters have an obligation of membership of the respective federation; description of the required conditions necessary for the cloister to receive real, and judiciary autonomy, and reasons of its loss; changes in institution of enclosure, and exlaustration of the nuns, as well as extention of initial nun’s formation, and implementation of additional, obligatory stages in it, that is aspirant’s, and postulate’s period. All above mentioned changes have been discussed in the article. Changes are proceded by recalling the definition of the canonical contemplation life, formulated bz Pope Pius XI in reminded above constitution Sponsa Christi, and mentioned by Pope Francis again in constitution Vultum Dei quaerere. This type of the article structure seemed to be necessary, in order to allow reader to make an evaluation of the changes in a life of nuns, and first of all to get an answer to a question: if the changes will more successfuly lead the nuns to interior contemplation? General historical, and statistical facts regarding the life of nuns were also included in the article.

Opis:: A continuing threat of infestation to forest stands by the nun moth (Lymantria monacha) and difficulties in predicting the mass occurrence of this species necessitate precise analyses of the changes in the nun moth abundance over time and space. The paper provides a comparative analysis of the abundance of larvae and butterflies on the same control plots in the years 1996 – 2001. The observations demonstrated that the changes in the abundance of larvae and butterflies – males were directly proportional. A distinct difference was found only in 2001. Inspections indicated a relatively high number of larvae and a significant decline in the number of butterflies – males as compared with the previous year. Such differences in the abundance of these two developmental stages may have resulted from the high mortality of individuals during their development and give a picture of different development of this foliophage population.

Opis:: The knowledge on the spatial distribution of pine foliophagous insect populations can be very useful in forecasting and prevention of their mass outbreaks. Checks of the quantities of fallen excrements were considered one of the reliable methods to detect the distribution of larvae in stands. Such checks oriented, in the first place, on the nun moth were performed in the years 1996−2003. The results showed high differences in the density of larvae even over a small forest area. The presence of such stand fragments where the high densities of larvae occurred more frequently than in other stand fragments were confirmed. In the same forest areas, higher densities of larvae of other foliophagous species of pine were also ascertained.

Opis:: In 1996, the monitoring of the nun moth (Lymantria monacha L.) larvae in the period between outbreaks was carried out in the selected pine stands in the Tuczno Forest District. The presence of larvae in tree crowns were identifies on the basis of excrement fall. It has been demonstrated that at the early stage of development larvae were present nearly in every stand fragment. Small percentage of larvae that attained the pupa and imagine stage was presumably due to the high mortality during the developmental period. The complete development of larvae was found in some stand patches where feeding and developmental conditions possibly appeared to be relatively more favourable than in other stand patches.

Opis:: Diakonisy w Apostolskim Kościele Ormiańskim rozwijały się niezależnie od diakonatu męskiego od IX do XXI w. Obowiązki diakonis ograniczają się do przewodniczenia w klasztorze liturgii godzin, asystowania prezbiterowi przy chrzcie, proklamacji Ewangelii, animowania śpiewu kościelnego, wnoszenia kielicha podczas Wielkiego Wejścia podczas Boskiej Liturgii, podnoszenia kielicha z celebransem podczas Boskiej Liturgii oraz okadzania podczas liturgii. Diakonisy od XX w. zostały związane z parafialnym duszpasterstwem. Odnowa diakonis mogłaby przyczynić się do odrodzenia ormiańskiego monastycyzmu oraz duszpasterstwa parafialnego, jak również podkreślenia wartości „pierwiastka kobiecego” obecnego w Apostolskim Kościele Ormiańskim.
Deaconesses have been developing autonomously from the male diaconate in the Armenian Apostolic Church from the 9th to the 21st century. The duties of deaconesses are limited to assisting in the Liturgy of the Hours in the convent, assisting the presbyter at baptism, proclaiming the Gospel, directing church singing, carrying the chalice during the Grand Entrance in the Divine Liturgy, raising the chalice with the celebrant during the Divine Liturgy, and using incense during the liturgy. Deaconesses have been associated with parish ministry since the 20th century. The renewal of deaconesses could contribute to the revival of Armenian monasticism and parish ministry, as well as emphasizing the value of the “feminine element” in the Armenian Apostolic Church.

Opis:: In the years 1996−2003, observations on the population density of nun moth butterflies were carried out in pine stands with the presence of underbrush and in a comparative group of stands without this layer. The objective of this study was to assess the impact of underbrush on the abundance of nun moth butterflies. Catches of butterflies were carried out using pheromone traps with Lymodor dispenser. In each stand one trap was hanged on the selected experimental trees. The number of butterflies in stands with hardwood underbrush was lower than in a comparative group of stands without this layer. In stands without underbrush both the mean and maximum numbers of the caught butterflies were greater. The butterfly population dynamics in those stands was higher.

Opis:: Rosyjskie słowo „matuszka”, oznaczające matkę, ale także rodzimy, drogi element przyrody lub świata, posiada również pewne znaczenia istotne z punktu widzenia teologii prawosławnej. Oznacza bowiem albo mniszkę po postrzyżynach, albo – rzadziej – świętą kobietę, czasem jest też określeniem Bogurodzicy. Jednak najczęściej nazwa ta stosowana jest w odniesieniu do żony prawosławnego duchownego. Temu ostatniemu rozumieniu pojęcia „matuszka” w większości poświęcony jest niniejszy tekst, który wyjaśnia krótko także dwa inne znaczenia – mniszka i święta kobieta (to ostatnie na przykładzie Świętej Matrony Moskiewskiej).
Russian world „matushka” which means mother or dear element of nature or word (like Matushka‑Russia), has also a meaning important from the point of view of the Orthodox theology. It means the Orthodox nun after the monastic vows or – rarer – a saint woman. Sometimes it’s used also as an epithet of Saint Mary. But most commonly this word is used in the meaning of Orthodox priest’s wife. The article is focused on that last meaning and it also shortly presents two other meanings: the nun and the saint woman (Matrona of Moscow is presented as an example).
